Been there ... Towed to and Sat at gas station for hours. All Hotels booked 20 miles cop n tow truck driver every nice they checked for us. I ended fixing it. Found the broken wire by grace of God. This was the old pay phone times.
That was a lucky break. Glad it worked out. Hard to find an allusion transmission while on the road and then having to wait for it, needed to get the family home and safe and I had to be in Savannah for work. Very stressful but we all made it safe finally.
I just spent way too much on this thing haha. Just before the trip: new tires and wheels, new shocks (fox 2.0 with remote resis), new steering stabilizer, new brakes, new headlights and fog lights, new 14” touch screen head unit, and recently a new lift pump. It’s got 310k miles on it. Guess I’ll sink another $10k in a transmission and run her until 500k. Been a good truck.
