@@CPD0123a They're a very alt rock band, but with a great influence of shoegaze (the dissonance of sounds and distant vocals are very characteristic) which is indeed a post-punk originated genre.
The second track did that to me. I don't recall ever listening to this band (or much music like this in general) but the melody immediately clicked and made me feel at home, like I've had known it all my life.

Its crazy to think that as an 00's American growing up on 90's grunge and 60's psychedelic, I never looked into this genre of music. @@lostavenue4819 like the other guy said, My Dead Girlfriend is a must-listen if you love this album. It's not the exact same sort of style; MDG is definitely more traditionally shoegaze, but IMO they scratch that same itch of being simultaneously intense and nostalgic; a bit more melancholic/moody than MOTFD, but still a similar "feel." The first and second tracks feel so nostalgic, easily my favorites. that's honestly worst thing about growing up, you feels like duller day by day, i vividly remember put this song back when in middle school, sweeping orphanage grounds, summer breeze caress my face, interacting with local people, while they usually offers me with their foods. nowadays activities doesn't give dopamine like its used to, i tried some extreme sport but only i get is tiredness, momentary euphoria is good and all but when you get back home all you thinking is about life, jobs, and other shits you have to do to keep your house and family afloat.

1:20am AEST time, 01/06/2023. I am a uni student struggling with various mental issues, balancing my deep deep passion for life and my studies with the sometimes deeper pain inflicted upon me by forces that are sometimes out of my control. I am listening to this album for the first time. Normally I listen to Skramz, hardcore, midwest kind of shit - I am a big fan of midori though, and a lot of shoegaze. This album is perfect. It is everything I want to make. I cannot even bring myself to feel hollow listening to this. I wish for a better future for us all, an end to the oppression experienced globally - especially in the global south - and want everyone to know that there is something worth fighting for; music, your loved ones, yourself, the international proletariat! Even if you disagree with the last bit, I hope that music is as important to you as it is to me.
