Bringing Trevor Bass up in the mix is adding so much depth, funk, and feeling to this. Dude keeps the energy bouncing and it adds sooo much to what Rick, Pete, and Cotter are bringing. Having Jeff on guitar integrates the ability to further expand the percussive/rhythmic complementary bass middle layer he’s honing in Orebolo (I see it as playing the part of both Bobby & Mickey in Dead terms) and it’ll allow Pete to stay on keys in certain scenarios he otherwise would’ve swapped for a guitar previously. Ultimately it’s incredible to see these guys progress and evolve into a new version of each of themselves individually and as a collective whole!
If you want to see some insane bass playing, I beg you to go check out The Reality Check Experiment on UA-cam. They always keep their bassist Kyle Rowe high in the mix, and he does things with the bass that don’t seem humanly possible. Also, he’s only 22, so it’s kinda scary to think that he’s actually going to get better. The whole band is very young under 25, and only playing for a year with the current lineup, but they’ve got almost 20 original songs and they’re ALL awesome. I usually have some songs I don’t care for even with my favorite bands, but there isn’t any of theirs I dislike yet.
Ben and Trevor had developed a natural groove that underpinned much of the Goose jam. On Gemini and Manu, I wasn't feeling that same chemistry. I agree that having Trevor's bass being up in the mix brings back that amazing groove. This version of Hungersite is fantastic!
Agree. I do wish he had more groove to his lines, but it’s great having him up in the mix either way. Just needs to add a bit of flavor and stank to his game.
I really, really, really love this band. Saw them for the first time last summer. Four sets of headlined a festival in Ohio. I had cancer at the time and it was everything I needed was too trip balls and dance.😅
I have followed a few touring bands religiously for years. Goose is on a whole other level i didnt think music could get to. Been dabbling the last couple years but recently have gone down the live recording rabbit hole. Cant wait to see you guys in person for the first time somewhere near Chicago. Keep up the great work and THANK YOU!
I'm sorry you feel that way. I think their rapid ascendancy from obscurity to superstardom as heir apparents to Phish - which accelerated dramatically when he sat in with them, then invited them to tour with TAB - means they're doing something right. They're young. They write great songs and Rick is blessed by God with more musical talent than most guitarists can even dream of. I for one am happy to have found them@@joeshafer6806 and I hope someday maybe you give them another consideration :)
You can hear Rick snaps a string at 33:30, loops 16th notes on another string to play while he swaps guitars. Cotter’s filling in the space over the next 30 seconds to cover for this is incredible
36:00 in you can see his high E string just hanging off the head. Just tunes up in that time and gets right back into ripping it! Before dark horse theres a cut, they definitely restrung him there seeing they didn't even wanna take time to snip the end wire off the peg haha! Pretty stellar if you ask me hahah... On a side note, anyone know what that Snare Counter is on cotter's snare?
OK drummers. This outstanding performance suggests that Cotter had more than 2 months to prep. This is super clean. Maybe he was a huge Goose fan. Or he had inside info maybe 9 months or a year ago. Thoughts?
i'll add to the "Bass heavy mix is good" thing going on here. If you want a guitar lead forward type band, then you gotta have the bass heavy in the mix. Phish mid 90s sound was this way, and it gives Trey the canvas to do the shredding that he can, same thing here with Rick behind Trevor.
The second half of the Arrow jam is so fucking incredible. It keeps this incredible, electric energy for like 6 minutes straight. I return to it frequently and pray I'll catch one at a live show soon.
This is my 5th or 6th listen since the Chateau Sessions dropped, these guys have become my soundtrack in life. Can't wait for June 15th in Canandaigua, best venue I've been to in NY!
My son and I love this band. We've seen them in Portland, ME, and last fall in Boston and I'll see them again in Portland in June. I've always loved Umphrey's and still do but this band has a much different mood and vibe and I play them all the time at home, working out, in the car.
And alot of new members of the flock including me, going to Forest Hills Stadium in June to experience them live for the first time, hopefully this will be a regular summer stop for them
These guys are firing on all cylinders, I'm SO glad I'm picking up on them now, this must be what The Dead were in their prime (not that I'm comparing them, 2 completely different bands, but the synergy says it all to me) COME ON JUNE 29 FOREST HILLS (GOOSE HILLS) GET HERE ALREADY
Love your music!. Wish you could come to Australia, I'd be there front row. Beautiful mix between Phish and The Grateful Dead. This is brilliant on so many levels. Amazing musicianship and tonality. Looking forward to hearing more!!
@ around 57:00 onwards was absolutely perfect. Everything crystal clear, and tight in the pocket. Some congas in there would have been sublime. Gave me Goose bumps.
Just got home from work (we had a band tonight so I could not tune in) and I can’t wait til the morning to listen. Aint tryna get myself all fired up yet 😅
What a treat. The string tripped on the shroom but the band just flew high enough over it. I think it happened at 33:30 and is visible at 35:20. I wonder if B got retuned to something else in the mean time. Icing on the cake of craftsmanship and true jam spirit.
As a older jam band fan who grew up on The Dead & The Allmans I’ve seen this band 3 times & every time is better🤟🏻

@@daundadavis5707 That was it. I hope you had a wonderful time. I did LOL.
Resonance was absolutely amazing!!
wow, great story.
That was Resonance, and this is a band profile, were from Toledo and we were THERE!
What sets Goose apart: EMOTION. Here for the long haul fellas.
like bruce lee , Emotional. Content. WACHA AAA
Facts!
Absolutely, this!
Silver Rising absolutely one of the best song I have ever heard. Ever
A man turning into wolf. A monster!
Yes it is a excellent song, filled with tension and emotion. But, I think it's more than just a song about turning into a werewolf .
@@ReneeMilitelloI know it’s a song about that but I associate it with something else.
One of my favorites. I cried when they played it last year in Chicago.
I get it!

That arrow jam is the stuff legends are made of holy crap
Goose is special and Trevor Bass is your Chateau tour guide.
Welcome Cotter Ellis on the drums. God dawg
1000% sold on cotter
God damn Goose makes me feel so emotional, in a good way. Feel everything, for sure.
This plus headphones and a bike ride in the sun. The only plans my day is gonna have.
Just. Thank you.
Same, but throwing a JBL in the backpack
Just completed my first ride of 2024... Chateau pt 2. in my ears & guided my way!
Sick. 🤘
That bass sounds fabulous.
When the music makes the hair on your body stand up, you're in the right place. Here we go! 😍🔥
In case you didn’t know, y’all are the best right now. Your plan to take over earth is working.

I'm liking new drummer dude!😁🤘
And Peter with no regard for his glasses! Damn that was awesome! Can't wait for summer!!
I love that Goose aren’t afraid to push the genre forward.
Theyre holding it back frankly

Bass bombs hittin hard asf
These guys are bleeding with passion and we get to catch the brilliance
They sound so good.. Trev and cotter connecting….
Yes which was part of the never being able to hear Trevor before… there was a disconnect between him and Ben I believe.
This is going hard af rn
That Deluxe Reverb sounds pretty great.
Rockdale is such a summer night firepit jam
Positively rocking my world. As always. The very best band to ever grace this life. Fight me
No fight here
Gosse is the gift that keeps on giving!!!! Thanks guys! My soul needs this

Cotter’s Fills in Rockdale was magical. Grooving hard
Yeah were gonna be just fine with Cotter. They knew what they were doing. As much as I love Ben, Cotters style and energy fits really well.
I’m coming for that mustache, Rick. I know that’s where you keep your magical guitar powers.

So much positive feedback hearing Trevor in the mix. Definitely something we need in the live shows moving forward.

Amazing what some volume, tone and a little freedom does to a bass line groove. Rockdale, so groovy, so hot right now. 😊
Lets fucking go Goose!!! Rick is absolutely tearing that guitar up!! 🤙
Sound is mixed very well. KEEP THE BASS LEVELS UP like this... It sounds excellent
Bring on some Bob Don action tonight!!! Or whatever... it's genuinely all great.
Hell yeah, love that song! 🤙
Love Bob Don!
These sessions are pretty awesome, and Cotter’s drumming has been great.
A whole new vision… a whole new movement for Goose. Can’t wait for summer, going to be piping hot and emotional! 🥹🥰🪿

Arrow & Madhuvan are simply sublime.
Arrow is the jam.
