Right after i come from work i eat and take about 3 hour nap then head to to gym, i come back eat and sleep so i get about 11 hours of sleep total ive made the best gains in my life
So true. Learned from my own experience the same way. When training at my highest I can sleep 12 to 14 hours and eat a ton. It also depends on age and what you do for a living $ though
If you are over say 50 or 60 you absolutely can over-train. Gradual strategic gains are the only way. At that age an injury could end you or set you back.
Why are they trying to discredit the great John Brown. It’s funny because Arnold advocated cheating as well and no one says anything. Why don’t the people that talk about exercise science why don’t they look like John Brown or have surpassed his look or achievements. I’m glad his sons have chosen to listen to their dad who only wants the best for his sons.
Ok thought I was oversleeping at 9- up to 10 hours but up to 14? C’mon man.. our muscles are important but for US.. we are not solely here to serve the flesh that wraps around us…
"There's no steroids in prison".....sorry, wrong. Prison guards are the worst offenders and suppliers. I do agree with Mr Brown about working through a set with mediocre form to help get stronger.
It’s not impossible but them inmates not thinking bout no steriods in prison… they want cigarettes weed k2 cell phones etc… they would take a Big Mac or whopper before they can get steroids brought in..
I’ve seen this hot take pop up a few times, usually from old-school bodybuilders. I think the intention is good, pointing out just how important sleep, nutrition and relaxing plays a part in staying in an anabolic state, but it’s complete nonsense lol. If you do triple drop sets to failure on 10 exercises, 2x a day, you can eat 10k calories and sleep 10 hours you’ll still be wrecked.
@@Nosuchthingasovertraining obviously you know nothing about strength and conditioning coaching. Most of what he’s saying is bro science gym myth. I know you’re new to the whole thing, I’ve known him since the 80s. And my guess is you’re +20% body fat and have won nothing.

Old school legend and old school common sense .. cant beat it .. dont look at the internet look at nature .. the legend john brown 💪🏆
Between John Brown and Charles Glass I've learned so much that books will never be able to teach me!!! Their intuition is next level!!!
Love him! Natural is the way. I include TRT as unnatural. Not many post-60 still gaining. I’m 66 training hard.

Not the prisons I went to unfortunately
what hes saying is in my opinion true but the regular person has to many responsibilities to sleep that amount it was his job.
Sleeping 14 hours is even worse than hardly sleeping. And the notion that you can't overtrain is laughable nonsense.
You can't over train
5x champion. What have you done?
