Frank Zappa "Freeman Report" Part 3 of 5

- This is a long interview with Frank Zappa from October 26, 1981.
This interview only aired once as far as I know and ironically, Zappa was playing his last concerts at "The Palladium" in New York City.
Covered in this interview is Frank's negative experiences with the stage hands unions.
One of the reasons Frank never played the Palladium after November 1, 1981 was due to excessive stage hand union costs associated with doing concerts at that venue.
The first thing I noted while editing this video is how relaxed Frank is and how good Sandi Freeman was at asking Frank open ended questions and then allowing Frank to answer. For such a long interview it has few commercial breaks.
This is a 5 part interview.
I am sorry for the poor video quality. But even "back in the day" when I was heavily into trading video NOBODY had a better quality copy of this interview.
NOBODY.
For a long time I thought this interview was lost in my tape vault, fortunately, I found it.
Enjoy this little piece of FZ interview history.
Honestly, this is probably the greatest Zappa interview I've ever seen. Humor wise, no, it's not really a funny one as many others are, but it's damn insightful.
Thank you for posting this. Miss Frank greatly.
who is this woman she is great! best zappa interview ever!
this interview is fantastic all the way...and everything he talks about is still relevant !!
Amazing interview. Thanks so much!
The only reason I attended public school was that I was threatened with overwhelming violence if I didn't.
.
What a great way to inspire trust and faith in government. It made me the anarchist I am today.
.
Abolish the institution of coercion. Anarchy could not possibly be worse than what we have today!
Dudes words from over 30 years ago are just as relevant as ever
we're still not ready
zappa is great!!! respect
double respect
3:15 "Schools prepare you to be a useable victim in a military industrial complex that needs man power."
Torpor111 it backfired because now we have a ton of fatties who sit all day and eat
@@dallinfullmer3073 Wrong, there's always been fatties who sit all day and eat, and now play kiddie computer games when they are in their 20's and 30's. Society as a whole, is even more ignorant and stupid now than back when this clip was made. @ 9.40 there isn't the freedom to do that anymore, now you have to be really careful what opinion you voice.
RSR423 yes lol I’m wrong there aren’t fat people you are right because video game bad sorry big boy
I think thats a little too harsh. I've seen most interviews of Frank and I've actually met him and spoke with him during this era and Frank is actually extremely introverted in his personality. He is extroverted only out of his need to be himself and live up to the responsibility he has set for himself and that which he would like to see in others. She did fine here; she didn't shut him down, talk over him or dismiss any of his assertions. She interviewed him well for the time she was given.
3:16 - 3:23 still more true today, but no one to talk about that seriously nowadays..and for good reason, democracy flickering of the era no longer exists at all today.
so few people watch this
fair enough :)
Interesting, Zappa type one each, Frank's so called music irritates my ears and annoys my mind. I would expect music to sooth my ears and instill motion in my soul. Frank developed a knack to compose sounds that only the mentally deranged can appreciate. His accomplishments demonstrate his evil master mind of the strange kind, a legend to lost souls with troubled minds.
nice try
Tony Iocca I'm sorry its all too difficult for you,Tony
Nothing lost about me, I know exactly where I am.
