  • Today we take you behind the scenes of the Royal Caribbean Ultimate World Cruise and into the Galley, or the kitchen as we say on land. This behind the scenes tour allows you to see just how they feed us as we tour around the world on the ultimate world cruise. We were very impressed with our behind the scenes tour and how they operate a kitchen to feed over 2000 of us around the world.

    We both have worked and managed kitchens and took this tour on Rhapsody of the seas. We were very impressed on how streamlined everything was. My favorite was the bread making area and the automation of the rolling of the dough

    One of my favorite ship activities was the galley tour. Gave us such an appreciation for how the wait staff operated! Certainly makes me think twice about special ordering something!! Or complaining about something that was not quite right!

    I really enjoyed this! I've been fortunate to tour a RC cruise ship kitchen a few times myself and its always amazing. RC takes wonderful care of its staff and employees. I can tell the difference when I've been on other cruise lines. Its just not the same. That dedication to the line and their craft that you mentioned that the employees have says everything. And it shows in their product and actions. Thanks guys! Be well!

    This was GREAT! I was so impressed that's it's only 8 steps to a hand washing station (I'm a nurse) and how waste disposal is handled. As I haven't yet mastered my Busha's Polish Bread, so I was amazed at the bread mixer and the machine that made the rolls. We've been on several RCCL cruises and for whatever reason was never able to see a kitchen tour so I so very much appreciate this video and all of your videos. THANK YOU for all the time and effort that surely goes into each and every episode, they're very much enjoyed and appreciated--Susan

    Factory tours are one of my favorite things to do. Don’t find them much anymore, but when I was young, and we would travel, my dad always seem to find one for us to do. I think he liked them because they were free. Backstage, back of the house tours are also, great. It is so fascinating to see how things are done. I’m sure that you guys found it extra fascinating. Are you gonna buy one of those roll makers? Machines that make things are also always fascinating. Continue to enjoy your journeys and stay safe.

    Hi Nancy and Mike, thanks for the video of the serenade of the seas kitchen.
    I have worked as a professional baker and cake decorator so I am somewhat familiar with how things run and a commercial kitchen.
    As a professional baker we had a machine called around her to make the rules and scones
    I found it very interesting that there is only one person that makes the soup and one person that makes a sandwiches. The gentleman that makes sandwiches he must be a very fast worker to make sandwiches for all the restaurants.
    Thanks again.

    • @livingphase2
      @livingphase2  29 днів тому

      Yes, they must be very fast. I would also think they might get a little bored making the same thing day after day. But that’s just my perception and maybe not how they feel at all.

    That’s pretty cool, living on a cruise ship. I do wonder, though….godforbid something terrible happens and you need extended medical attention (like ICU care)…do you have emergency plans? I don’t believe cruise ships have the ability to care for serious medical care.

    Edit: I see you are on a tour with others….nevermind.🤣

      They do have a medical facility and can handle some pretty serious medical issues. We hope we never need to use the facility though. Also, there are three doctors on board the ship plus several nurses.
