This is a fun video idea and I feel like you guys dug for some cool picks! I would love to see a video like this for a specific deck or archetypes. Would be fun to see what options people don’t think of for some commanders or deck types.
One thing I'm surprised you didn't mention for Pair o' Dice Lost is that you will always at minimum get a 2. I can think of plenty of cards that are 2 drop and lower worth getting back after using or getting destroyed, and is really good in any deck running lots of cantrips.
I have used Spelltithe Enforcer, and people were enraged. Part of it was that I wasn't running a stax deck so mentally they were not ready, and the effect is beyond frustrating for people. I did not remove the card obviously because it works, but people get absolutely salty XD.
Krosan Restorer has a prominent place in my Theme Deck Of Dickens' Christmas Carol as Fran. Love the fit for the character and she plays well with the rest of the "story" my deck tells as it plays out.
Callidus assassin is a life saver when needing to catch up speed . its very versatile as well. I might give primaris eliminator another chance in my calgar deck too
Tokens is probably the archetype in mono white that has the easiest time drawing cards, between Idol of Oblivion, Welcoming Vampire, Skullclamp and Bennie Bracks. If you're willing to pay mana there's even Symmetry Matrix and Mentor of the Meek, which has been considered a pretty bad card for a while, but it does let you draw more cards per turn than Staff of the Storyteller. Slate of Ancestry is also a repeatable wheel for go-wide deck
Occult Epiphany - I bunged this one in my Octavia, Living Thesis deck, and I'm kind of amazed at the impact it's had. Every time it's come up in my hand, it's invariably swung the game in my favour.
Also that goes for anyone in maryland , the brewery welcomes all commander games ( or any board game and tcg ) . Heavy seas brewery , cheers everyone 🍻🍻
Punishing Fire - (R1) Instant, Punishing Fire deals 2 damage to target creature or player. Whenever an opponent gains life, you may pay (R). If you do return Punishing Fire from your graveyard to your hand. In only 1891 decks. There's a lot of incidental lifegain nowadays, at least in my playgroup, I'm always getting this thing back.
I run Spy kit with Mask of the mimic (only in 453 deck on edhrec) and retraced image in my Vohar reanimator deck and it's amazing :) janky... but hilarious when you get a 1 mana instant speed it that betrays :P
The flavour on Calidus Assassin is that the opponent's creature WAS YOUR ASSASSIN ALL ALONG, and they are betraying them at the opportune moment for maximum effect.
I have a Spelltithe Enforcer in my binder that I always consider running in controlling decks. I’ve been worried it’ll generate a lot of hate for its value, but it could be worth it.
Spelltithe seems decent in aristocrats as it'll probably trigger your blood artists etc and if they try to remove it, they pay the tax (or don't) and you just sac in response.
WotC only gave Unfinity cards black boarders because that would help them sell better, like it did for 10th edition. As far as them being legal, that's up to your commander group. I wouldn't say they're any more legal than the other silver bordered UN sets though. Otherwise everyone would be playing Goblin Tutors.
I wish Junkyard genius was an artifact creature. My mishra, claimed by gix deck is an artifact aggro deck, and one restriction is that every creature has to be an artifact creature. Its so frickin cool and the powerstone is really good ramp.
Here is one underplayed card for you all: Tithe. It's so good fetching duals/triomes with Plains type. It's on the reserved list but rather affordable now.
Staff of the story teller is a Phyrexian arena, that you have to pay for, is arguably easier to target since it’s an artifact, and can be dead on board if you aren’t spawning tokens (which logistically shouldn’t be a problem in token decks, but it’s worth noting)
way better than phyrexian arena. comes with a body, you can draw the card immediately instead of waiting an entire turn cycle, and it synergizes with artifacts, tokens, and ETBs
I've been having a metric goblinload of fun with the horribly underplayed 1000th 1/1 goblin token created by Krenko, Mob Boss. Goblins 1-999 get played more than you believe but we really let the 1000th 1/1 goblin get slept on. The community needs to step our game up.
I put spelltithe enforcer in a deck once, people hated it... I'm also keeping my eyes on Callidus assassin, I just need to build something it fits into
crawling barrens in my opinion is similar strength as mutavault. but the 2 cards have a wide price difference. i feel like probably because alot of people know about mutavault but not crawling barrens. i use both in my board wipe heavy mono white deck. my lands dodge creature board wipes. i dont know how many people run these cards but they recently became some of my favorites: dwarven miner dwarven blastminer gorilla shaman(comboed with liquimetal torque) orcish settlers anarchy acid rain meltdown sudden demise steelbane hydra
Just a heads up, pair o dice is even better than you said in the video. You said the floor is 0, but you can’t roll a zero on a die! So the bare minimum is you get all cards mana value 2 or less, guaranteed!
There are just a lot of people that never wanted Un set cards to be playable in other formats. So they don't see as much play as they would have if they were printed in another set. Like Saw in Half. Its a strong card sure, but I'd personally never run it because I'm among those that feel like the Un cards should have never been made legal in any other format. The sets are designed for the joke cards specifically, and they should've remained that way. I don't care the slightest about universes beyond, cards that are technically banned in commander, etc, the only thing i don't personally like seeing in commander are Un cards and Iona shield of emeria specifically. Outside of those two things, I'm good with everything else. I only dislike Iona because it can make it so one or more players at the table just can't play commander entirely, which defeats the purpose of sitting down to play. I'm aware it is banned in commander now, but my group plays no ban list, aside from that one card. I've just never enjoyed the joke cards outside of keeping a couple of the more amusing ones in a binder. But thats just my own opinions and how i feel about them personally. So i just stick to my pod and I don't have to worry about seeing that stuff and getting annoyed by any of it. That said, its commander, pregame conversations should be done for a reason, so everyone is sitting down for a game they're ok with and to have a good time. What works for one playgroup won't always work for another. I may be fine with someone running proxies, but someone at the table could always disagree. Its important to have those conversations and most importantly to be polite and respectful to each other regarding their individual expectations. If you don't agree, you can always look for other players. Just try to have fun.
Spontaneous guess as to why some of the cards are here: -Staff of the Storyteller and Occult Epiphany both originated in pretty unpopular precons and haven't been reprinted anywhere yet, so a lot of people probably don't even know they exist. -Seasoned Pyromancer, if anything, has the opposite problem - before its 2X2 reprint, it was very likely too expensive for a lot of folks. -Krosan Restorer is really old and only recently got its first reprint - and Dominaria Remastered wasn't exactly the most popular set either. Dueling Grounds has the same problem, except worse, since it hasn't been reprinted at all. -Pair O'Dice Lost: it's from Unfinity. Nuff said. -Primaris Eliminator and Callidus Assassin: 40K precons. There are very likely people for whom that's reason enough not to play those cards (and they're missing out - I knew as soon as I saw the card that Jo Grant from the Doctor Who precons would have a place in my Gavi deck). No idea what the deal is with Junkyard Genius. Uncommons from premier sets will get overlooked, apparently.
I don't get the hype about occult epiphany. I tried it once, but the 'discard as much as you draw' felt like a super feel bad. Like I was down to two cards, I wanted to get back in the game, and had that in my hand. Making a handful of spirits wasn't gonna do it. I think it really takes being more than just a spirit tribal deck, you also gotta have tons of graveyard synergy to make up for the fact it ain't card advantage.
Update: And I am wrong, it is in fact a mainly in The Most Dangerous Gamer decks. Wait, WHAT? Ok, I don’t see the synergy with attractions, they have their own piles. Weird.
Occult epiphany seems fantastic for Alela. Does anyone else know of any "make a bunch of little flyers" cards? So far I have Inkshield, Kanoptek Scarab-Swarm and Migration path.
If you can somehow drop spelltithe enforcer in competitive bro it’s so funny so many cheap spells fly in cEDH it’s hilarious people are sacing 3-4 lands in a turn lol
The acorn symbol was about the stupidest thing Wizards has ever done. I guess they were afraid of having different borders in the same set?? But they do that anyway with like fun borders and retro borders?? Should've just stuck with silver borders, now it's really hard to tell at a glance whether an Unfinity card is legal or not. Keeping Silver borders and also just having some black borders in the set would've made it so much clearer
My issue with staff of the storyteller is that there has been a plethora of cards recently that fill its niche, and most arguably better. In the 2c range chivalric alliance and horn of the mark reward attacking with multiple weenies with no mana investement with other benefits, as well as idol of oblivion. At three we get welcoming vampire and tocasia's welcome that can add up if you spread your tokens across turns, and at 4 is bennie bracks, who can be covoked out with your weenies.
I don't play Spelltithe Enforcer because it's abnoxious - it's nothing like Rhystic or Smothering, because it feels like an edict effect on land. It's like one and a half steps away from land destruction. I think it doesn't make it into decks because it's just a terrible rate. It does nothing for your deck, but at the cost of 5 mana it costs you two cards???
Calling it now! First card is Mox field
Not quite! We always keep ‘em guessing
I think a lot of people do use moxfield. It's a pretty useful website
I love the blank stare at the beginning it makes me think they are little people in a box that I press a button to make them talk
"Talk nerdy to me Nitpickers!"
This is a fun video idea and I feel like you guys dug for some cool picks! I would love to see a video like this for a specific deck or archetypes. Would be fun to see what options people don’t think of for some commanders or deck types.
More of this series please!

Thank-you for the reminder to pick up Staff of the Storyteller. I would love a copy in my Ellyn Harbreeze Busybody+ Haunted One deck.
Very cool video, loved it. I have a Callidus assassin laying aroun and I have an Aminatou deck...never thought about cloning my own stuff, amazing!
Super glad! Hope you got some obscure tech from it
Primaris eliminator is amazing in my Henzie deck!
Glad we’re on the same page! 😎
as a fellow Henzie player, indeed it is!
I have used Spelltithe Enforcer, and people were enraged. Part of it was that I wasn't running a stax deck so mentally they were not ready, and the effect is beyond frustrating for people. I did not remove the card obviously because it works, but people get absolutely salty XD.

Pair o' lost dice is going straight into my Mycotyrant deck. Thanks for the recommendation!
Occult Epiphany - I bunged this one in my Octavia, Living Thesis deck, and I'm kind of amazed at the impact it's had. Every time it's come up in my hand, it's invariably swung the game in my favour.
I remember i wanted seasoned pyromancer for a deck at one point and it was 40 bucks lol.
Man my Marneus Calgar deck is loving these suggestions!
If you guys ever come to maryland , You’re more than welcome to come hang and play at the brewery I work at ! A lot of the staff plays as well .
Also that goes for anyone in maryland , the brewery welcomes all commander games ( or any board game and tcg ) . Heavy seas brewery , cheers everyone 🍻🍻
Can you guys make a deck out of 1% list cards?
Punishing Fire - (R1) Instant, Punishing Fire deals 2 damage to target creature or player. Whenever an opponent gains life, you may pay (R). If you do return Punishing Fire from your graveyard to your hand.
In only 1891 decks.

Spelltithe Enforcer I put into my fiancé's Augustine IV deck. It's so powerful whenever it comes into play.
I love the intros you do in the beginning.
The flavour on Calidus Assassin is that the opponent's creature WAS YOUR ASSASSIN ALL ALONG, and they are betraying them at the opportune moment for maximum effect.
I run spelltithe in my jetmir hatebear and I love it
1:35 just ask the pod I played with last night I was drawing 4 cards a turn in white
Primaris Eliminator is great, I run it in Henzie.
callidus assassin in satoru is dirty. Considering you can ninjutsu it back to hand or use many of the bounce back to hand stuff.
Starlight Spectacular is an Allstar card from Unfinity. I actually prefer that then Cathar's Crusade.
Staff of the Storyteller has perfect synergy in my Kykar deck!
9:05 We didn't miss it, we're all collectively trying to forget that Tooniverses Beyond BS exists. 🤮🤮🤮
I wish Junkyard genius was an artifact creature. My mishra, claimed by gix deck is an artifact aggro deck, and one restriction is that every creature has to be an artifact creature. Its so frickin cool and the powerstone is really good ramp.

Moxfield ad at 27:59
They put it in the outro to mess with us
A guy in our playgroup has an exalted deck, and dueling grounds is a nightmare when it comes out
Just added Seasoned Pyromancer to my Rakdos Mishra token deck. Insane when Purphoros is on my field.
I'd like to add my contribution: Blood Frenzy! great for mono red
I run Primaris Eliminator in Grenzo, Dungeon Warden and he hasn't let me down yet
I put occult epiphany in my brudiclad deck after seeing JLK play it on game knights/extra turns
I do run primaris eliminator, and yes, it’s in my Henzie deck
One of the best places for it!
Dueling Grounds is really good in Rafiq.
that outro 🤣 the pause and zoom in
Seasoned Pyromancer is busted. Shocked to see it at only 5k decks. I play it in mono red Chandra/Elemental kindred deck, and it's really really good!!
I've found junkyard genius is SUCH a sleeper my kamber and laurine deck! Nobody ever sees it coming for some reason
Junkyard Genius is great, so good in BRO draft
Staff of the story teller is a Phyrexian arena, that you have to pay for, is arguably easier to target since it’s an artifact, and can be dead on board if you aren’t spawning tokens (which logistically shouldn’t be a problem in token decks, but it’s worth noting)

@@roflsnpwncakesyou make a valid point

I've had 3 of these in my edh decks at one point or another
that pause at the end killed me
If you roll 2 D6, the floor is 2 correct? like the lowest you could roll is a couple 1s
For staff of the story teller try adding halo fountain as a win con
Dueling Grounds is an allstar in my superfriends deck.
I have Krosan restorer in my Daryl Dixon deck :]
I put spelltithe enforcer in a deck once, people hated it...
I'm also keeping my eyes on Callidus assassin, I just need to build something it fits into
Occult Epiphany would have been great if it would create faerie rogue tokens with flying
Why? The creature type only really matters in a tribal deck
Yess i am the 1 in 6500 that use krosan restorer! Its super busted in my blink infinite turns deck, its a combo piece thats awesome
Ayyy another restorer fan! ✌🏻
@NitpickingNerds it combos with 4 other cards by itself and then so many more in 3 or 4 card combos
I was SHOCKED that Primarus Eliminator isn't in more decks. There are several copies floating around my playgroup (including my own)!
He is sooo good
Arbor elf is also insane good,I believe is the best ramp ever.
Actually brewed a rolling dice deck with pair of lost dice. Super jank and dumb but im excited to get it on paper some day
Judging by the thumbnail I assumed you'd gonna talk oversized cards XD
crawling barrens in my opinion is similar strength as mutavault. but the 2 cards have a wide price difference. i feel like probably because alot of people know about mutavault but not crawling barrens.
i use both in my board wipe heavy mono white deck. my lands dodge creature board wipes.
i dont know how many people run these cards but they recently became some of my favorites:
dwarven miner
dwarven blastminer
gorilla shaman(comboed with liquimetal torque)
orcish settlers
anarchy
acid rain
meltdown
sudden demise
steelbane hydra
It is kinda neat that you can proliferate the counters on barrens without having to always pay 4 mana into it
enforcer is great in bant hugs.
16:32 lotus field.
18:08 if you did this you would be a legitimate magician b/c the lowest you can role on 2 six sided dice is snake eyes...i.e. 2
So sad I missed the ravnica whatnot stream. Saw the notification but I was at work :/
Just a heads up, pair o dice is even better than you said in the video. You said the floor is 0, but you can’t roll a zero on a die! So the bare minimum is you get all cards mana value 2 or less, guaranteed!
I am such a nerd I watch magic channels on youtube and was hoping Mia would get the average roll on the two six-sided dice correctly🙂
Pair of dice seems like a lot of mana for a potential total whiff
Just started to watch, but I just put Crackdown into my mono-white deck and it’s in 0% (2746). Good card. 😅

Idk why i read this🥲 i spoiled the whole video for myself
@@samdunn5846 ...apologies? Though yeah, I too wonder why you'd read the comments before watching the video.
I was holding a Primaris Eliminator in my hand as you introduced it in this video. What are the odds?!
I also enjoy warm soda
Hey Buzzy the lowest number you can roll on a d6 is 2, akshually.
That enforcer is in my yasharn deck
Alela, Artful Provocateur needs a staff of the story teller

Lmao I just added Callidus Assain to my Sefris Humans list over the weekend and it is brutal. (Angel of Glory's Rise centered deck)
I am ready to bet that a majority of the decks containing Pair o’ Dice Lost are in fact Borborygmos Enraged decks.

Pair-O-Dice Lost in Borborygmos Enraged mention! Somebody got very very salty at me for using that before because "It's one of those stupid un cards".
People hate Unfinity for some reason! 😭
Know what's in 0% of Nerd Videos today? Miso and Amber. That's like running your cEDH deck without Thorical and DC 😑
fun video! loved it
My issue with staff of the storyteller is that there has been a plethora of cards recently that fill its niche, and most arguably better.
Possibly a blink deck with Abdel Adrian?
I wonder if the token it makes on ETB would add a counter to it.
Beezy is so unlucky, he apparently can roll 0 with 2 d6. Poor guy!
Moxfield is at 18:27 is my guess
Coke without ice?? I thought that was the same thing.
Seasoned pyromancer works in rakdos sacrifice..... just saying.
Exactly who puts ice in their coke! I don’t want watered down coke I want it fresh and fizzy with no pollutants, such as ice.
I can't run seasoned Pyromancer...
Nothing like reanimating Primaris Eliminator and a Massacre Wurm
Whoa I use Spelltithe Enforcer in Kwain and the lads hate it, I had no idea he got so little love
You should play Aether Barrier too! Does the same thing but just for creatures.
Public Enemy
Blue enchantment
New Capenna

This card makes people die. And then you draw a card.
Oooh, that would be a nice addition to Hylda, just keep the creature tapped down so they can't block with it
