Thank you for making this video. I love to hear more about the community at JBay. I was lucky enough to visit last year on event day. I spent a month road tripping from Cape Town through the garden route up to Durban and back around last summer with my girlfriend who is from wilderness. Truly an amazing country and lucky to experience it with my South African girlfriend as an American. Love what you are doing BRU! Keep making videos, and keep ripping, even at 62!
Thanks so much JBay is such an earthy place. Standing on the boardwalk today with the waves absolutely firing I feel so grateful to live here and to be a local. Being out there and getting barrels with the best is insane.. JBay rocks❤️. So glad you experienced it👌
It’s exciting watching the preparations. I’ll be watching from Australia. Those boardwalks are saving the dunes. Great work. Still got my Larry Levin sloppy Joe.
So good ripping. I went there first time 92. The five times. After from April to the tour showed up. Love you stuff. I have a documentary coming. Send you trailer in comments. Sid
As a person who grew up as a local at a beach from a small grom to the top of the ladder I'm fully in support of localism and I see it as a positive thing. You've covered the bases well, the love, the care, the history, all it takes is respect. Cheers, J-Bay is a special place and hopefully we get some proper swell for the comp.v Thanks for sharing, sell ripping bro. Aloha.
I used to work on a farm here in my state of South Australia over on Eyre Peninsular and theres a surf beach called Cactus. Back when I was there in the early 80s I worked with a couple of the local surfers and there's tales of chasing people away. It's a isolated place and the nearest cops are a long way and also there was no cell phones back then or pay phones. Surfer localism is everywhere but some places are more agro than others
that's a really nice beach tour from an old school local. I've been dreaming of jbay for 30 years. lot's of saffa expats around Margaret river where I live. how's the sand at the moment?
You are flowing with the times and still ripping!!! Most people become bitter and can't navigate through drastic changes. I can imagine when you started surfing JBay you were looking for someone to surf with
My parents lived in J Bay through the 90's and I'd go up several times a year to visit and I never ever ever had a run in with anyone. Even when the white vest boys were controlling the lineup. If supers got a little busy I'd pop around the corner and always have magnas pretty much to myself.
Great set up all around ,,Thanks for sharing
🙏
This is really cool Trev, keep these ones coming !

Not so much JBay but Bruce's Beauties for sure.. Grew up at St Francis Bay and had to go looking for a surf mate there.. Moved to JBay in 83..
Nice work Trevor 👏🏽👏🏽

Pray for waves...

The locals and the JBU staightened things out and now eveyone tows the line.. Respect.. It works!
We are about the same age and we had remarkably similar styles.
Haha not much style this side but love giving it a go💪
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦
Hilarious bru🤙
Having some fun before the comp😁
The thing is, dmbfckry is rampant in every corner of this planet now. Straight constant dmbfckry.
Thats why water control is a must.. Too many entitled idiots. Old school still rules here..
@@oceanadventures365 I hope y'all never lose that grip.
From the drone you can tell Rincon is its twin wow
That was high tide.. on the low tide JBay is Untouchable ❤️
@@oceanadventures365 dreamed about j-bay since I was a kid in the seventies and Sean Thompson was my favorite
