      Wendell (bless his heart! 🤗) *just* inspired me to (finally) go and find me a decent aftermarket, dual-band WiFi antenna. Amazon has 'em. Very similar to the ones included with higher-end ASUS mobos. (I think I'll buy two or three.)

    Im considering this board for the 13500 non K. Based on previous years, Asrock really had issues with poor VRM temps. I hope they fixed these issues in the long run. Split between this and the TUF Gaming Plus, mainly going with this cause it has white colour and im planing on using the Deepcool CH370WH.

    motherboard makers need to make 10g marvel lan the default. forget intel 1/2.5 and forget realtek 1/2.5.... 10g marvel chips are absolutely amazing quality. even IF you aren't doing 10g workloads, their ability to process networking data is king. i had bought the aquantia 10g card (which is the same chip, marvel bought aquantia) and its been a legit dream especially with QoS enabled along with my QoS enabled ubiquiti dream machine pro.....

    I love Steel Legend, the looks is really good. There's something I am bored about the B60 series chipsets is that, locked for mid,lower ends. I can tell, z90 is much more fun. Anyway next year should be 20a, 20% higher clock for same power? Thanks for the low prices Asrock I can rock my 11600k in a z590 for another year or 2.

    If I could make a request of an interesting board for AM5 Wendell. Me and a couple of my old co-workers from Red Hat here in Raleigh, NC would like to see you review the GIGABYTE B650I AORUS ULTRA AM5 and on the G. Skill Ripjaw S5 6400Mhz memory for the 7950X 3D CPU. AsRock making some nice looking boards 🤩👍🥰. It’s a shame they seem to under power their vrms for for Intels higher end CPUs. Imo they seem to be doing like AMD with their A320/520 chipsets and build them basically for higher performing R5 level CPUs ….. AsRock here just did this board for i3/i5 builds

    • @Totto70770
      @Totto70770 Рік тому +1

      It's a relatively cheap, all-round good DDR5/WiFi/mATX board, it can power the CPUs it's meant for just fine. Why would anyone put a 13900K or KS in this anyway? Also, one can always stick a fan onto the VRM, heat issue solved. The main issue with Intel's B-chipset is the quite limited ram overclocking potential.

    • @h.b.5577
      @h.b.5577 Рік тому +1

      @@Totto70770 The main issue with underpowered VRM's is longevity, while there is no sense in using something as overkill as a 13900k now that will change quite a bit 5-7 years from now if history is anything to go by. High end cpu's will likely be going for dirt cheap left and right, but motherboards will be quite a bit harder to get so whenever someone is still using one and looking for a drop in replacement or is getting a second hand board the VRM's (now degraded from years of use no less) will be a serious issue to the builds stability.

      I was looking in to the T models as well for a new build. My TL:DR of research suggests just buying the k variant of whatever model you want and lowering PL1/2. Basically DIY your own T model.

    • @MikeBob2023
      @MikeBob2023 Рік тому

      @@shrimp_p4rm Yeah, that's what several people have suggested to me, and it does make sense ... _unless_ you're like me and absolutely freeze up at the thought of fiddling with voltages and multipliers and such in my system's BIOS. (I'm allergic to stuff like that. 🙄)
      With the *Model T* I think I'll rest easier knowing that there's less of a chance for me to accidentally let the smoke out of my build. 🤣

      I've always had to have an Ethernet connection (and I can't recall ever *not* using one in any of my PCs), but I also HAD to have WiFi in all of them (as kind of a backup).
      Similarly, I've always *HAD* to have a discrete GPU in my computers, but I won't use a CPU that doesn't have an iGPU.

    5:44 i have NEVER understood the obsession of overclocking, for me that says it is not safe and a strain on the hardware. And from a manufacturer's perspective, not good either as it that eats out their profit for you to buy a faster chip. You can't be on here and solely look at things from a consumer and tech perspective, do so with ALL parties involved, the end users are not the only ones at play here. This ALL comes at a cost, it cost end user to buy and it cost the manufacturer to make.

    1:12 Anyone knowledgeable about wifi antennas? Thinking about what Wendell is saying about rubber duck antennas vs those that are on a wire, often with a magnetic base . . . . how interchangeable are they? I know they are to some extent since right now I'm using a wired antenna from an old z97 ASUS motherboard on an MSI B550 motherboard I bought second hand without antennas. Question is, how "smart" or wifi tech specific are these antennas? For e.g. How different in design is a 6E antenna from a 6 or 5Ghz or 2.4GHz antenna? Are they interchangeable? Are they just lengths of wire? Is the little "aerial" at the end of the wire in anyway specific to the motherboard's wifi tech?
