The blonde girl near the end of the video is Eve Plumb who played Jan Brady on The Brady Bunch... This was a good video. Its amazing how fast these stores were gone.. I missed out on this particular chain restaurant as well
Same for me, I was born in 1985, and never lived near any of the franchised or privately owned locations. It's quite a shame because I love nostalgic stories of American success which this seems to have all the makings off in the beginning but the burger Gods would not see it through. Sad story about the murders too. Even though the company had no role in them (far as we know, right?), it must be devastating to have your name forever tarnished in such horror thanks to a one off psychopath. I bet in some alternate reality this company is still around and doing great with all their modern concepts, or then again maybe they went downhill like every other fast food chain today focused solely on their bottom line and not customer satisfaction. We will never know I guess, now will we? Good video, you got a new subscriber!
Our town of Waukegan IL had 2 of these restaurants, One is a Mexican restaurant, the other is called Dave's Liquors. We used to have a Jack in the Box as well as an Arthur Treachers, as well.
The drive-through review reminds me of Steven Garrett's review of Alien Resurrection (2000) for the Playstation. He absolutely hates the dual-stick movement and aiming system that is now standard on all FPS games.
I really wish I could have been there for some of these iconic old-school fast food places. Great work on the video I'm 100% sure that as long as you continue to upload consistently, and slowly gain confidence behind the mic, you WILL go up! Everybody needs a well researched video to listen to while they do their mundane office jobs 😂😂😂
I’m 52 and enjoyed Burger Chef a lot with my parents in the 70’s. We had two in New Albany, Indiana where I grew up and still live today. They were converted to Hardee’s in 1982 and stayed around into the late 90s when they closed as I guess they weren’t doing too well. Great channel you have. Ive been enjoying it 👍🏻
I used to eat a burger Chef I was a kid in the 80s in Chillicothe Ohio. I remember the Happy Meal characters vaguely but I'll never forget that 50s inspired Marquee sign that's in your thumbnail
Great video and really enjoying your work. There’s a remaining former Burger Chef in Charleston, WV called Suzi’s. It’s a real throwback experience. The building looks mostly the same as the 70s era buildings and is really popular. One twist is they have breakfast and sell these massive biscuits. Check it out online. Keep up the great work!
Oh wow I had no idea there was still one left out there! I will have to check it out that's not too far from where I live. Thanks for checking out my videos I appreciate it!
Great content bro. I appreciate the research. Play with the titles a bit more, but you're on pace to be one of the next UA-cam millionaires. I will post some sample title ideas but you're off to a good start. Great research, social context,, and narration. Subbed.
Great video. doctajuice is right. Your channel is growing and your views and the watch hours will grow too. I tell you, it takes a lot of time and research and effort to make these videos. I just finished a 12 minute long mall video history and it wasn't one of those videos where I am just walking around the mall. Pretty soon you will not have to think of ideas for videos, your subs and viewers will ask you to make videos. That is where I am at. 90% of the videos I make now are viewer requests. Most of the videos I make, I have never heard of the store or restaurant. But it is fun and a challenge anyway. Great job keep up the good work.
I hope it continues to grow. I know how it is take so long just to create a 10 min video. I really do love interacting with everyone and the request are great. Thanks again for the support and kind words I really do appreciate it!
I remember the first Burger Chef. Ot was on West 16th Street. Not far from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In 1973 The winning Indy 500 team had their dinner at that restaurant since the victory banquet had been cancelled after 3 days of rain and tragety.
Burger Chef's 'combo meal' was called the triple treat, not the triple threat. A close look at the advertisement you showed reveals this. Other than that I find your videos interesting and well paced. Keep up the good work.
A little over 40 years ago Burger Chef was my favorite restaurant as a kid. The Burger Chef I went to most is now a nice Indian restaurant. Getting a good, affordable burger these days is now, sadly, a little "hit or miss".
I’m from Youngstown Ohio. Home of the original Arbys. I’d love to see you do a few on local places here. Hills department stores, Red Barn burger, Isaly’s, Ben Franklin dime stores, Fisher Big Wheel department stores, Good Humor ice cream.
There used to be one in the early 1980s when I was a kid in Norton Virginia down from the Magic Mart in a shopping center. I remember going there a few times with my parents when a little kid, but don't remember the food. They without a doubt had to have been better than McDonalds and even Burger King, they were just bought out by Hardee's/Carl's Jr and switched over or closed out. I've heard every so often Hardee's locally brings back one of the old Burger King burgers.
Burger Chef was my favorite hamburger restaurant. They also had the Big Chef, McDonalds copied it and called it the Big Mac. They had a fish sandwich that McDonalds copied. They had the Super Chef, McDonalds copied it and called it the Quarter Pounder with Cheese. I never ate at a McDonalds until after Burger Chef went belly up.
Titles: 2 billion dollar company that lost everything. (Todays's worth) The company that inspired McDonald's ( or that McDonald's stole from.) The most creative hamburger chain ever. Something like that. Your content is great tho. Keep trying different titles until you find a style that works for you. I'm about to look up more of your content!

Burger Chef always had the best toys.

Nice. We used to have two of them in our town but I don't ever remember eating there unfortunately. I love that old sign design very iconic!
Burger chef and jeff. At lunch we used to leave grade school and eat there, way better than school lunch.

Thanks I appreciate it. Yea I could probably make some title changes to generate some more views.
Maybe try experimenting with different titles on a 2nd channel until you find the formula to capture the most views. Content is great for sure tho.

Keep up the good work! There’s another channel that is similar but the gaps between posts are soooo long. Glad I found this channel. Thx
Thank you I appreciate it My goal is to upload every week!

1950s decade was a really good decade for Burger Chef to be the coolest restaurant that ever been the famous fast food chain restaurant.
Subbed. Enjoy your videos
Thank you very much I appreciate it!

Best burger around before Burger King started to get popular.
A few Hardees restaraunts would occasionally bring back the Big Chef. 2 for 4 bucks! I loved those greasy gut bombs!
I wish burger chef would've survived considering our choices now.
