      Hey Ray,
      Yeah it is good for them tight spaces! Also for anyone that watches the video that can't afford to or doesn't want to buy and extractor, they may get use out of it. 🙂
      But I do agree the extractor is so much more satisfying! I just purchased a clear head for my extractor so will be included in my next video. Although the carpets aren't too dirty unfortunately. 😔

    My personal thoughts is that an extractor still would have been a better choice for getting the seats 99% clean to remove the embedded dirt. There was too much dirt/dust in there for the method you used. I would have used that method on gently looking used seats. To each his/her own though.

    Awesome video, Question about removing seats. Do you remove battery terminal before unplugging seat switch and does that reset the radi0? also do you torque the seats down after putting back in? if so where do you find the torque settings for each individuel car?

    • @theaussiedetailer3207
      @theaussiedetailer3207  3 роки тому +8

      Hey Patrick, Yes sure do. It does reset the radio and some radios require a radio code to unlock them which can usually be found in the owners manual or on a card. If they don't have it written anywhere you can also find out the code from the car manufacturer. Removing the battery can also reset other electronics but they are all easily set back to normal with a quick google search. In regards to putting the seats back in I just tighten them with an impact driver but not to a specific torque. 🙂

      @theaussiedetailer3207  3 роки тому

      Great question! It is bad if there is moisture sitting on any of the conductive connections behind the buttons which would cause them to short out and rust if left (although I don't think rust would affect the conductivity).
      As long as buttons are blown out thoroughly with the air compressor there shouldn't be any issues. If there is moisture shorting the buttons out it will just cause them to play up until dried. 🙂

      jordan dixon thanks for the feedback! I am only learning still. This is the 3rd vehicle I had ever detailed and also the 3rd video I had ever filmed and edited. I feel like I'm improving with each detail I do as would be expected. I'm still not perfect but I will get there! 😁
      What would you have done differently than I did in the video to achieve better results? 🙂
      I get most people didn't like the steamer and vacuum combo and I won't be doing that again.

    Lol everyone commenting "how does a car get that dirty??" Drive in country Vic with the windows down for a few weeks and you'll see! Great job, im about to do the same to a hilux with an inch of mud hidden under the whole floor liner. What's the spray in the bottle your using?

      Leighton, I know right! In a country environment it's very easy for a car to get dusty and dirty. No judgement from me. I love cleaning them! 😁
      Thanks for the feedback too! The stuff in the spray bottle is Meguiars APC. Very economical product. 🙃

      Yea lesson learned that an extractor probably would have been a better option but you learn what does and doesn't work only by trying it. The steamer definitely works just maybe not as good as an extractor. Thanks for the feedback! 🙂
