Jacob, you probably already know this, but Tweetsie is distantly related to Dollywood. Tweetsie was a big enough success that the owners built a second train-centric attraction in Pigeon Forge called Rebel Railroad, with a Civil War theme. Rebel Railroad became Goldrush Junction, then was expanded and became Silver Dollar City, then Dollywood. And now you know the rest of the story!
I lived in Boone when I was in elementary school in the 70's and my bus driver (college student at ASU) was also one of the dance hall girls at Tweetsie. A couple of times she drove our bus in her costume. Called herself "the last of the red hot mamas" as I recall. Those were the days... Thanks for the train ride!
Ahh. I love how you travel and make video's for us out here that can't. You are just so awesome. And have a Big Heart. We love you Carpet Bagger. Keep up the Amazing journeys. And be safe all the way.
Last time I went to Tweetsie, about 12 years ago, the engineer let us ride in the locomotive cab. Definitely not for little kids, but the best place on the train.
I've never been to Tweetsie RR, but I've heard and seen plenty about it. I never knew there was a cemetery there though. I really enjoyed a look at the park. Thanks for sharing!
That's a nice well maintained old School park. Some rides, a petting zoo and a wild west show all in one. Just a side note, that baby that snuck under the fence was a goat, and one that apparently practices yoga. Didn't realize they were that flexable.😁
That railroad had the Day Out With Thomas event going for 9 days then at the end of the day time, Thomas rolls by himself back into the shed until the next day then you’ll know that Thomas is coming back out of that shed to smile at the crowd
Jacob, you are doing a great job.Your Videos show the real America with real Americans.Your films give a lot of information about your great nation.Greatings from Germany and we want to see more. Thanks!!
We take our grandson to Tweetsie every summer. You are near where they filmed the town scenes for the movie, "The Hunger Games" (about an hour from Tweetsie).
It's Western North Carolina so the Native Americans should be our local Cherokee. Can 't believe it is your first time to Tweetsie since you live nearby in the mountains. That "deer" is a goat and the poor emu wasn't trying to "jump scare " you! No more Halloween for you : you are getting paranoid!
Dangerous Dan's Fun Park (Tweetsie) is wild west themed so the Native Americans are TV Land/movie western tribes from the 50s. The fort might as well be from F Troop, based on the burlesque comedy. My first time there around 1967 a lot of it was still under construction, as well as many enclosed coaches that I don't think they use anymore. My last visit was 1996.
I just had an AHA moment. While you were in OC Maryland just a few miles out was Frontier Town Western Theme Park. Closed Labor Day. Sorry you missed out. This place is awesome!
@@TheCarpetbagger it's the best part it's a little kiddes ride but you go down a mine and it's mice mining for cheese I ride it every time I go with family
I remember going one time and the vision in my right eye went blurry I believe that day I got a cinder in my eye it's basically Ash that comes out of the chimney of the train
I went there when i was around 7 years old.. which was 40 years ago. The reenactments were much more real then, from what I remember.. But that was 4o years ago.. The shooting range looks just like what it did back then.. I need to find and share the photos.
Back in the 80’s, those train actors hopped on the train and ran up and down the aisles yelling and carrying their weapons. I think I am still traumatized from that experience as a small child. Also, the goats weren’t fenced and they were very aggressive and jumped up on you for food. We have a picture of my grandfather holding me up by the waist to save me from attack goats and I look terrified! 😄
Damn, I've always wanted to take a ride on a real steam train. I was on one at Disney World but it was a "mini" train, not a full sized one. "Cowch..." 🙄😄 The fact that those restraints don't do much is probably a large part of the reason the sky-lift is so low... 😊
I’ve known several people that worked at the park over the years and they’ve had some interesting stories to tell. Apparently out of boredom all the cowboys on the train decided to act it out as gay cowboys one day.
One thing to say is you all get a lot more rain than we do in California. Also we wouldn't be able to have the "politically incorrect" shows here! Thanks for the videos!
@@VAMPYBITES 5:14 appears to be a black dude playing a Native American, guess black folks like to play too. Of course it's easier to bash white folks for doing it.
I think I'd even feel secure on those rides. I usually avoid them since an auto accident in my early teens (leaving a carnival) , but I believe I could handle these okay, lol! May be able to still touch the ground while riding that "ski" lift ride, lol!
@@TheCarpetbagger o ok thanks me and my son watched the video earlier in the day was showing my wife later that night and it was gone and I was like I'm telling you it was right there lol thanks for for answering
my uncle is the guy working the Sign Shop there often, in the crafting fair area. I love Tweetsie, lots of great memories.

Jacob, at 10:20 that's a strange looking deer, which would be because it's a little billy goat 🤣
Exactly what I thought
It's a rabbit
Wow! Cool, vintage place. You NEVER see Turnpike cars like the one at 9:13 anymore.

Nice looking theme park. That cemetery there is completely different. I've never heard of that before.
I use to work there..they still hold funerals there during operations as the cemetery is privately owned..
RhettyforFun go at Halloween at night.its a blast
I went to tweetsie a lot as a kid. I absolutely hated those chair things. Just the little tiny bar holding you in for a kid is traumatizing. xD
Don’t jump scare me bro to an emu! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Cracks me up.
I love tweetie railroad.is best at a Halloween. At night.took my kids when they were small.had a blast.

Sometimes the Day Out With Thomas event in Christmas time, Tweetsie Railroad’s employees put Thomas’ snowplow
I’m a huge old train fan would’ve loved to ride on that
That’s a pretty nice amusement park. I went on a steam engine it was black and we went down a hill in it it’s somewhere in north Texas
I love how "he's a pirate plays" during the Indian attack
Does it seem like loose Johnny Depp as Tonto connection?
I thought that was off
Nice to see some enjoyment in NC bieng a short drive from tweetsie I loved it when I was a little one
Always good to spend a day out with you Carpetbagger. You seem to be a lot of fun and you never fail to make me smile😊
Another great video, several North Carolina videos as of late, love it!!
Can't believe this place is real. I've heard it mentioned in the show 'Strangers With Candy'.

That place looks so cute. I'll be buried there too.
Hobo has easily become one of my favorite words to use the last few years... Usually more as an adjective than as a noun.
The best thing is that it’s technically not offensive
@@TheCarpetbagger long live the technicality!
Cool, I went there with family in early 1980's :)
used to love going to tweetsie every summer growing up
the grandbabies would love this place.
Like the park it really looks like it's stuck in time. Keep Safe 🎃Keep Well 🎃❤
N Carolina has lots of fun places
"Uh oh...a punching fight." 😂
You are so lucky to have the opportunity to ride the original engine Tweetsie herself

Cool old fashion fun

I love country theme parks :)
LOL, that crazy little deer.
I’ve walked many of hours their. My grandmother actually has a condo at chetola which is like 3 minutes away. You can hear the trains very clearly.
