First one of these I couldn't finish. His descriptions are just too accurate. Broke my ankle and leg last year and this brought it all back

yeh man same here...nothing quite like it.. remember my leg making the loudest snap (I felt it was my leg) but I hadn't even paid attention to my ankle, which actually broke because my leg broke.. sort of popped open.

@@gregpl9363 yeah I was driving, and when I heard it my face literally went pale and I was about to puke! Mine didn't snap like wood so much, sounded like someone snapped a full bunch of celery tho. I ripped the membrane that holds the fib and tib together from ankle to knee tho.. So they were just floating in there, not held together at all

@@gregpl9363 yeah haha it was gnarly.. not quite fully healed tho, no. Pry won't ever be 💯. Don't have ins, and couldn't afford to do physical therapy like malto and p rod did. I get around now, but if I don't land something with my ankle perfectly squared, it hurts me for weeks
The fact that he wrecked his ankle, knew that he might of broken it and still physically walked away is gnarly.

Not only a broken ankle but a compound fracture. Anytime I think about those I cringe. The thought of your bone poking through your skin makes me sick. I am almost 30 and started skating around the same age he did and have a long list of injuries as well. I don’t skate like I used to anymore. I miss the good ole days of being out in the streets everyday filming videos for my local shop. I especially miss lighting up spots. Still have my generator but I never use it so a friend who still films for the shop has it now days. I still skate some but my main hobby now is tornado chasing. The Rush you get being near a tornado compares to landing a trick you tried for hours/days/weeks or whatever else.

Concrete, the most unforgiving surface
Facts I made it to 32 without seriously hurting myself, lots of bad things, rolled ankle, sprains bad cuts partial torn ligaments but wen I was 32 I completely totalled myself on a concrete bowl, destroyed both my wrists, my right ones permanently fucked, broke 2 ribs, concrete is very unforgiving, no bounce at all...

When I was about 13 years old, my friend and I were skating in my driveway and I was trying a boneless 360. I landed funny on one and went down hard. I hit the back of my head so hard on the ground I went blind for about 10 minutes. Had to stay a few days at the hospital before I was cleared to go home. To this day it's still the scariest thing I've ever experienced. Hitting your head is not fun.
Damn. When I was 16 I slammed hard riding my bike on some steep dirt jumps and I just woke up the next day at home in bed confused as hell. Pretty sure I woke up and just started crying because I had no idea what had happened and was obviously super concussed. No memory of the slam or going to the hospital, just nothing. Lost a whole day. Took me a while to start jumping my bike again and I could never get myself to go back to those jumps, too spooky

Being a person who has knocked their teeth out before biking, I legitimately couldn't finish watching the first one. I've broken ankles, collarbones, arms, and blown out knees but nothing compares to years of mouth surgery. That one was tough to watch but im glad you're all fixed up and still shredding.

I’ve broken my ankle and torn a tendon in my foot, believe me even though the break is painful the soft tissue injuries suck way more. This skater is a beast the way he handles pain and faces potential career ending injuries. 👍
Skated everyday for 28 years, had and saw more injuries then I can name.... this is the first time I heard of someone getting thier taint stitched up.... and that hurt just hearing that.

I broke my leg on a trampoline when I was ten. I got double bounced so bad, everything was broken. And when I was laying down on the trampoline I looked down at my leg and all I saw was the bottom of my foot, facing up towards me, and pointed away from me at about knee level, it was one of my worst injuries. But this ankle injury made me cringe. And he walked off 😭

People that skate for a living deserve so much respect. Career at stake on every rail, every set of stairs. So much courage to go back on the board after that kind of injuries.
I skated when I was 11-15 and still got problems with the injuries from that time, and its getting close to 20 years ago..

I have never clenched as hard as when he described the taint injury. Like, the ankle injury is absolutely horrifying and I'm sure I would be motionless and nonverbal if that happened to me, but there's something so visceral about a split taint.

Similar ankle injury happened to me trying to impossible a gap. My back heel landed on a primo'ed tail which in turn pointed my toes to the cement. My foot turned enough to see the sole of my shoe. Brutal slam that can happen to anyone.
