It last 29 min. I use rechargeable panasonic eneloop battery, and i have never drain both set of battery in one day. Last one, i didn't try it, but it can for sure be on for hours.

I've just acquired one of these for Free because it has a cracked LCD screen. For less than £25 GPB I can repair the camera and restore it to it's former glory, so it is well worth spending a little on it!😎
What I'm wanting it to do is shoot HD video in outdoor sports stadium at night under stadium lighting. My phone does ok until I zoom then it just looks terrible (8x). I'd like it to do up to probably 25x zoom in the lighting conditions and look good. If not then it's pointless to buy one. What's your opinion?
Don't use digital zoom, it will only lose quality. I think it would be good if you buy one for this purpose, because stadium lighting should be very good. Just keep on your mind, more zoom you use, less light come to your senzor. I will do night test in few days, so maybe you should whait for it and than decide to buy or not :))

That's why I'm looking at cameras and camcorders that can do the job with optical zoom but I want to make sure the device can give me the clear results I want. Truthfully 10-15x will probably do 90% of what I want. I'll be watching for your update.

It depends on how much money you want to spend. Nikon B500 is a very good for the price, but I would rather buy Nikon Coolpix B700 (because it has more option for video). I didn't own Canon or Sony so I can't tell you, but they are for sure little better from Nikon B500.
Both are good but the B700 is way better, it has a high-res electronic view finder, optical zoom up to 60x, and also it has a swiveling Vari-angle screen, it has a 20MP sensor and also you have more manual modes than the B500, but if you are just a beginner, try the B500

This is a point and shoot camera. Yes, it is a good camera for that kind of occasion, but not good starter camera if you are really interested for taking photo or video. There is a bunch of videos on youtube with suggestion for beginners. Maybe you should research lit bit more :)

I would rather recommend B700 or similar with manual mode, but you can make good quality videos with B500. Btw. b500 is very bad at low light

Hi. It depends what software you use and format for production. I used H.264 AVC for producing.

DId you set AF-F to Full-time AF? And sometimes it depends how big is distance between objects.

Planning to Buy, this Nikon Coolpix B500 or Canon Powershot SX540 HS or Sony Cybershot DSC-HX350?
