I love the natural way you chat away on your videos . Your colouring is as good as I’ve seen on youtube, and I can’t understand why you don’t have thousands more subscribers.I have managed to get Worlds within Worlds from Kmart for $9, and waiting for delivery which has been delayed due to lockdown.Meanwhile JB’s World of Wonders is keeping me entertained😊😊👏👏
Ohhh thank you so much. What a beautiful compliment 🥰 delivery is taking so long for everything at the moment. At least you have JB to keep you going ❤️❤️
Thank you! I’m dying to see how different it will be, I’ll always love the original though as it was my first prismacolor (well pencil in general) page 😁
I have both sets of brutfuner pencils, I like them equally. The paper makes a big difference on how the pencils lay down. Dahle 133 is my only sharpener…put the rest in the trash bin, no more broken leads.
Nice to see your haul video. Enjoy your new supplies! I recently bought some blending applicator tools to use with distress ink too. I noticed your packaging said alcohol ink mini applicator tool and from memory I think the pads are made of felt. Ranger has another tool called the mini ink blending tool which comes with foam pads and those will likely be smoother.
what a great video! i too recently tried the brutfuners. found them crumbly. so many of the colours were too similar and layed down almost identical. 180 colours is nice except when 5 purples are basically the same. so i sent them back.
@@MyColourfulCountryLife oh i didn't swatch the whole set, just the purples as i decided to work on a purple challenge - my least favorite colour. i swatched out a few others just to see if i liked using them, but found their crumbliness to be a major disappointment. it was an easy decision to send them back.
Fun watch :) Just discovered your channel. New subscriber :) I just received the 520 set of brutfuners and am in process of swatching them all - big job! 1st impression some creamy some scratchy. I want to color a pg with them to try them out. I don't have any other brutfuners so no idea how they compare to their other sets. Have fun with your new books and supplies! Mouse Guard book is a lot of fun and unique. Love your flower truck page!!!
Hi Marie and welcome 😁😁😁 So 4 days later… are you still swatching the 520 Brutfuners 😂 let me know what you think after you colour a page. I’ve seen so many mixed reactions from people on these sets
Omg your pictures in world of flowers is soooooo sooooo beautiful I wouldn't mind watching tutorials on them since you got a new book 😂😂 thank you for doing what you do I wouldnt know where to begin
I just got the Brutfuner squares, and so far have tried them on Amazon paper.... they're soft and blending well. It sharpens easily with the M&R sharpener (in the largest hole), which gives it a short point.
I was so pleased to get to listen to your lovely voice and watch you share your haul with us. You give us so many coloring videos and share tips with us so are very deserving of your gifts. I do have that Color 'n Chics book. I am the same with you on coloring portraits, and yes, the grayscale helps. I do not have Mouse Guard, but so familiar with it. Oddly, have never seen those pencils and I have a LOT. I have the 120 square Brutfuners AND the 520 set. Love both, don't need the 180...lol. The Dahle 133 is perfect for the square Brutfuners and the little dial is to change the size of your point.. Enjoy your haul!
Thank you so much Barb. I’m not much of a talker as you can probably tell, it gives me anxiety 😆 What do you think of the 520 Brutfuners? I’ve been seeing these a lot lately but strangely they aren’t advertised on Brutfuners website.
520 was a lot to deal with, for sure. Thank goodness for a French UA-camr that reviewed them AND made special swatch sheets for them. I keep them in 2 large pencil cases. I like them a lot. They work great. Just can't figure out a comfy way to maneuver the cases while using them
Very nice haul 😁 And soooo many pencils 😍 The Staedtler double hole basic pencil sharpener (the round one in blue and grey color) also works very fine on the Brutfuner Square pencils 😊
❤I had no idea I had the mouse guard colouring in book I’ve been looking for that colour in book for ages then I found out they are not in print anymore ☹️. Loved your haul video too xx ❤
If your square brutfuner set was scratchy I would for sure send them back for a replacement, because mine are too soft and blend-y for what I got them for, which was to be harder for fine detail. Mine are softer an blend more than my arteza pencils when doing my own comparison tests. I also do think it's worth mentioning when I first got mine I swatched them all before I received my Dhale 133 to sharpen them, and some of mine felt like they had little hard pebbles in them of no color, or like they had this coating on them I've never had on another pencil set before. Idk, it was weird, But after sharpening them in the dahle they were ok. An I know everyone's taste is different, but if giving them all a good sharpen doesn't help, then they definitely should send you a replacement set. But All that aside, I would love to see you color in the "Believe in Magic" coloring book. I've never seen a flip through of it, but it's now on my list, thank you!❤
I sharpened them before I used them and they were still scratchy, so I could likely have received a bad batch. A few others have found the same issues as me. Could be a quality issue. Oh yes! I’ll definitely be colouring a page from the book 😁
I love the square Brutfuner pencils, they are the top range pencil in that brand. But if you love Prismas and you don't like the squares, if you are tempted by Polychromos at some point, buy a set of 12 or 24 first. You may not like those either. The square pencils are very similar to polys to use. Polys are my favourite pencil. Nice collection of items. I love the cloud stencil.
@@MyColourfulCountryLife Oh. That's a surprise. I found the squares so be very like them. Even on the cheap printer paper that I coloured on with them first they came out so well and layered great like Polys. Not as many layers, but enough and the process of using them seemed the same to me. Perhaps you need to give them another shot on different paper. I think I've only used them on Amazon type paper so far.
Yeah I’ve only tried thin in Johanna Basford’s new book, I’ll definitely try them again. I think people are either living them or hating them, so many different reviews it could be a quality control issue.
@@MyColourfulCountryLife The paper in Johanna's books can be a bit funny with pencils. And the paper in the US is different to the paper in the UK too, also around Europe etc. So I'd definitely give them another go on different paper.
Interesting how you mentioned that in Australia often new colouring books are available at Newsagents or Big W etc. This is what happened with my WOW colouring book. By the way my wife is becoming the colourist not me!
Yes I find certain publishers distribute to different dept stores. You’ll find Kerby usually in Kmart. Johanna in Big W and sometimes target … and they sometimes have them prior to preorders being sent out 😉
Winnie the Pooh pencils! I’m in love with those. And they don’t look too bad for coloring (Pooh is my favorite character, if you couldn’t tell. Lol). And you need a set of prisma verithins or fine liners for the teeny details
I think you're using the wrong applicator for your project. The Tim Holtz felt applicators are for alcohol inks and blending solution. The foam applicators are what you need to apply the pigment ink. I made the same mistake when I started. Just make sure you don't buy anything that says "alcohol" on it because you'll get the felt pads instead of the foam pads.
I would love those disney winnie the pooh pencils. Do you know where she got them by chance. Would love to add those to my collection. Love pooh bear ❤️ Thanks for sharing your haul with us! Enjoy your lovely goodies.
Hi hun, so they were purchased at a post office in Australia, they are limited edition so until stock lasts. Also could try Amazon or eBay maybe? Hope that helps you find them 😁

Nice haul! I haven't yet taken to the Brutfuner squares either. And they do wear down very fast. You will enjoy that Dahl sharpener!

The Dahle is definitely better than the Derwent Superpoint. I will try the square Brutfuners again in a different book just in case. 😁
Love, love, ove the Dahle pencil sharpener, but you have to be careful or it'll eat up your pencils.
Yeah the only one that doesn’t seem to eat pencils is the t’gaal, another reason I love it 😁
