We can see why you are so enthusiastic about those! We're just imagining all the lucky artists opening their new supplies this season. We think every artist can remember one amazing set of paint, pencils, markers or crayons they got at an early age that sent them on their journey in art!
Loved seeing your favorites. My favorites video is already up, as you've seen, but stuck this in here to answer your MVP comment, lol. Can't wait to see what 2023 brings!
31:24 I would love to see your urban sketching paintings. Likes the ones you show in this video. I would love to hear how you planned to handle a difficult (read: way too many details) building or view. I have seen all of your vacation videos but would like to see a video you talk about them in detail and maybe recreate one of them 🙈 I cannot pick favorite art supplies as they tend to change as I love experimenting.
Those Neocolors are my FAVE! If you haven't tried them yet, you really must! Although I tend to use them dry. I don't really like water-soluble materials - watercolor is just so much better. But the Neocolors are a luscious dry medium - so pigmented! Have a great new year!
An unexpected fave art supply for me this year was Arteza gouache. I for sure didn't need any more gouache, but I bought the big set of 60 tubes, and found them a lot easier to manage than my jelly gouache set. They're almost like acryla gouache, because you can layer them a lot without too much lifting, but they also were amenable to being gently blended with a damp brush after they dried. I also love my Neocolor I crayons (the NOT watercolor crayons). They're like kids crayons, but beautifully silky, especially on a smooth surface like Bristol board. I have a set of the Neocolor II crayons as well, and I like them too -- but the Neocolor I's are so fun to use! I know what you mean about cheap pencils: my favorite drawing pencil is a Papermate Sharpwriter!
Love your channel! That Sharpie is my go to as well for labeling half pans! 😊. You deserve those gifts! How incredible Roman Szmal sent the whole catalog! Amazing!
Just came across your channel. I absolutely love your excitement and enthusiasm with the art supplies! I bought, what I thought was expensive at the time, two Sakura Koi watercolour palettes that came with waterbrushes for $50/each about 5-6 years ago and a pad of store brand watercolour paper. As much as I loved trying to paint, I would quickly get frustrated with the results, because even though I have no knowledge and less experience, I could never come close to creating what was in my mind. In December, I treated myself to St. Cuthbert’s Mill Saunders Watercolour paper, Maimeri blu paints and Princeton Heritage and Aqua Elite brushes. I was AH-MAZED by the difference, especially with the 100% cotton watercolour paper! This weekend I was decluttering and I tossed the old pad of store brand watercolour paper, since I know that I’ll never use it again. It is _such_ bad quality! Even though I still don’t paint that frequently, I love that when I do, it’s my knowledge and skills which are holding me back and not my supplies. I completely understand what you mean about feeling like they’re too precious to use! Something that I do is use washi tape to break the larger sheets into smaller sections. That way, I don’t feel like I’m wasting a 9x12 sheet of watercolour paper, by painting something that’s 5cm x 5cm. Mentally, I also find it a lot easier to manage a small painting, since I don’t have that much energy or focus yet to tackle a whole big painting.
Hello, my friend! Happy New Year! My favorite art supply in 2022 was my 12-pan, DaVinci watercolor set. I did my entire August, watercolor month 30-day challenge using these 12 colors, even the white when I needed a peachy skin tone. I know you don't need more watercolors but if you're looking for something new to review on your channel... It's wonderful to see your channel growing. I am amazed at your ability to create, especially while you travel! I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with in 2023...
My favorite art supplies this year are Posca pens, Neocolor 1 and 2 crayons, Daniel Smith watercolor paints, Schmincke granulating paints, and Holbein colored pencils.
Yummmmmmmmmmmm nothing beats this. I was searching for a gift for a fellow artist friend of mine. I asked the significant other to snag some photos of my friend's supply closet. The significant other's comment was, "I don't know. Is there even anything more to get?" My friend's stash isn't even that extensive haha. I replied to the significant other, "Oh, sweet summer child. Like you my Roman Szmal paints have been a highlight this year. I truly don't think I've touched my Daniel Smith paint. What's there not to like, full pans, price, and quality. Love them..
I LOVE Roman Szmal. I always reach for them when I paint. The other brand is A.Gallo, which is a Woman owned company in Assisi, Italy. Love how vibrant both brands are.
The arches handmade sketchbooks that I make. I am making one with Saunders Hot Press next. I love my granulating watercolors!! I love the blues including Sodalite & Phthalo Turquoise, all the browns (including those caput mortuum types from Roman Szmal & Daniel Smith) etc. I have a 3D printed palette from Etsy and a "15 pan" from Schmincke that I stuff full of colors. I want to paint more and include more neocolor 2s, markers, graphitint, inktense and colored pencils next year.
I LOVE Roman Szmal paints. I have their travel pallet of 12 half pans. It was very reasonably priced on Jackson's at the time. I've been adding colors to it here and there. Their Mineral Violet and Ocean Blue are really pretty. So is their Ultramarine Pink! 😯 My favorite brushes right now have to be the Creative Mark Mimik brushes and Princeton Neptune. Another favorite are the Hannemule 100% cotton sketchbooks. I don't think I'll ever use another brand.
Merry Christmas love art supplies bless you thank you you have help me about traveling I’m going to Texas to visit my son you are such a sweet young lady God bless you.
I'm so happy this video popped up on my recommended. That first palette is something I need to get my hands on. Your art is beautiful and I really enjoyed this video, I will definitely have to take a closer look at your channel! :)
Hi, you appeared on my suggested channels to watch and I'm so glad I did.....I subscribed right away. Now I'm going to have to "binge" watch to see what I've been missing. This video is very well thought out and is put together with a nice flow and you kept my interest while also being informative about the products and your experience with them. I can't wait to watch more. p.s. you could be a hand model and a regular model...you're gorgeous, I enjoyed seeing the photos of your beautiful holiday locations. Peace
My favorite sketchbook is etchr and Hahnemühle, my favorite paints are daniel smith, schmincke, roman szmal and sennelier, my favorite pencil is also a graph gear but also rotring. I use 100 cotton paper, i really think its worth it. Thanks for sharing yours
I love the Roman Szmal that I got for my birthday. I am really looking forward to seeing what they sent you. I am slowly adding to my collection so I will likely end up adding a few to next year’s birthday list for my hubby
Howdy. I just ordered from Jackson’s. I like their 120gsm sketchbooks for 2.50USD. I also bought watercolor to adapt to the switch from a pigment change. I’m adding quin maroon to join the seven pans I already have.
Your watercolor florals and travel pieces are so lovely. The colors are so vibrant. I especially love the yellow and blue anemones(?) on the blue background. And your work in gouache is beautiful . I have the set of 12 Holbein gouache but haven’t worked with it much, in part for the very same reasons you mentioned about the set up. I’m adding the stay wet palette you recommended to my wishlist 😊. I also agree as to the paper. I bought some Canson XL as many UA-camrs highly recommend it, but I’m really not loving it. I also have a Strathmore cellulose sketchbook which I really don’t. Care for but feel compelled to complete it. Weird, I know, so I’m using it now to mostly test things out as well as doodling and sketching. I find myself often feeling discouraged when painting on either of those cellulose papers. Always looks a bit chalky and like I was using poster paint instead of watercolor. Granted, I know that I can’t place all the blame on the paper (as much as I’d like to, haha). I’ve still got lots and lots to learn, so much can be attributed to that. The good part is that it makes me more determined to do better. But, the cotton paper - wow, what a difference. I definitely enjoy painting on it more and find the results much more encouraging. I’ve bought both the regular Baohong and the Baohong Academy and really like them both. I got them both from Temu and the price was good. They also sell it in packages of loose sheets which were even more economical. Thanks for an enjoyable and informative video. I love seeing people’s favorite supplies and your enthusiasm for this medium is contagious 😊.😊
Thank you so much for watching and sharing. I’ve just tried the canson paper and I didn’t like it either… I’m going to gift it to a friend who does like the paper lol I suggest also trying to use the papers for other media / types of art / experiments/ drills etc and making time to use the nice paper you enjoy. Anything that helps lower the barrier to creating lol. I often find my gouache will work nicely on the paper I don’t enjoy for watercolours…knowing that lets me enjoy the nice watercolour paper guilt free xx
@@SketchesnScrubs thank you for the suggestions. They’re good ideas and thanks for reminding me about the gouache on the cellulose paper. I’d forgotten, it did perform well on it, the little bit I’ve played with it! I also got some neocolor II’s as part of my Christmas present from my husband along with a couple Inktense pencils and plan to have a play around with those.
This might be surprising but Jackson's watercolor block blew my mind, I bought the small hot press size, 10x12 cm, and I'm almost done with it I think I only have one sheet left. Also the stay wet palette that I bought because of you 😉 I had to stay at my mom's house for a couple of months and couldn't bring many stuff so the palette with cheap gouache, and a small Fabriano block really made my stay much much happier and that's it has to be my favorite supply from this year 💖
I love your art work and your enthusiasm. I've yet to try water colors as I fear my art supplies will explode in number as I won't be able to resist buying all the lovely colors.
Lovely! Thank you for sharing, The Hahnemühle cellulose watercolor book has really served me well! They released an 100% cotton sketchbook earlier this year. I haven't tried it out yet since I already have waay to many half-empty sketchbooks but wanted to mention it in case that would be of interest to you. Paul Ruben and Etchr aren't really available here in Sweden, so I hope that this could be a good alternative. 😊 Thanks again for the video and for making my tea-break!
Really enjoyed your video! I love the 100% cotton Fabriano Artistico cold pressed and the paper in Etchr's mixed media sketchbook (the one with the white fabric cover). Also Schmincke Horadam is my go-to watercolor choice and I can't forget my #4 Raven and #2 quill from Jackson's that I saw in similar sizes on Minnie Small's video. Love seeing your gouache work.
Omg I'm so jealous of all of your art supplies. You have everything I want lol. I have enough though and more than a lot of people so I can't complain. :)
I love 100% cotton paper,...but its out of my budget my favourite supply actually has no brand really, its an etching 'pen' composed of 2mm clutch pencil with a 2mm tig tungsten rod sharpened in it (dont use the red tipped ones, if someone wants to make one of their own). works perfectly for etching 😀
I love my Daniel Smith watercolors & Etchr everyday sketchbook. I got a pencil case from a thrift shop that I'm very happy with to make a travel kit. I'm now experimenting with gouache.
Is that the Gondola pastels in the thumbnail? I have seen them on different websites and would love to know how they are and if they're worth it before buying a set. I was excited to see them mentioned, but must have missed it 💙 those Roman Szmal watercolours look amazing!!! definitely on my long art wishlist 🤞🤞
I am just getting into art now so my fav supplies are my only ones! 😄 but I asked for some watercolor brushes and some Paul Rubens oil pastels for Christmas, so I am hopeful and excited to try new things!
If you like the Jackson's Raven Mop brush, you'll love their Icon Quill brushes. Same brush design and coiled ferrule, but the Raven is synthetic squirrel which is why it's very soft and doesn't hold a sharp point, while the Icon line is synthetic sable, so they can hold a sharp point and provide greater line variation. The sizes range from 10/0 through #6. If I could only use one brush ever, it would be an Icon Quill 3/0; very versatile and holds an amazing fine point while still having a belly full of water and paint. If you decide to try them, I hope that you will review and share your thoughts!
@@SketchesnScrubs I agree with @bluenote7997! I have a Princeton Neptune Quill brush that looks chonky af, and I did all of Inktober 2021 (more like Watercorlortober) with just that one brush -- big washes down to narrow lines.
I love the variety you present on your channel. You are the reason I tried Roman Szmal and I am so impressed. I used Schmincke Horadam the most but now I have been converted to Roman Szmal for everyday use and having fun. The Schmincke has been designated to special works. I have never used gouche so you have piqued my interest. Looking forward to more interesting videos on your channel in 2023. Merry Christmas and have a happy & healthy 2023❤
You have some awesome favourites. Due to your recommendations, throughout the year, I have picked up the stay wet palette, the Roman Szmal watercolours and the PR watercolour sketchbooks. Thank you for bringing these items to my attention, I like them a lot. Keep creating 💛💜💙
If you like the Aqua Elite brushes you may like Black Velvet Silver brushes. I bought a size 12 and like the slightly firmer bristles. And I looove my Roman Smazl paints. I went a bit overboard, I have like 25 now 🖤
Love your videos. I am glad someone agrees that a brush for gouache is different than a brush for watercolor. I find that synthetics work better and that gouache is rough on natural bristles. If you have a water brush, you might want to try that with gouache but without putting water in the handle. I use a lot of watercolor pencils and those are great hydrating my watercolor pencil drawings. I also find that Qor watercolor is my favorite because they rewet so well (even the Viridian) and because unlike other watercolors, there’s almost no color shift when they dry. I hope you have a great New Year and I’m looking forward to more videos!
Yes, Roman Szmal paints are supreme! I collect more and more each chance I get. I SO wish I could get them here. And yes! Cold press 100% cotton is the way to go! Love it!
@@SketchesnScrubs I’m fine with waiting for my Jackson’s orders to get here to the US. It goes through Sweden first I think after leaving the UK, then actually stays in customs in New York, sits there a good bit before shipping to my house. It gives me time to prep my swatch card and swatch notebook! 😁 If RS paints ever do make it to stockists here in the US, there will be an up charge I’m sure. I’ll probably keep ordering from Jackson’s!
So many awesome art supplies, very enjoyable video thank you. I think my fav art supply atm is Schmincke Horadam, I got a 12 half pan set for my birthday last year and I've been reaching for it above others each time. Haven't had much traditional art time lately but it's always the one I bring out first
I always like to see what other artists like and use. I’m hoping to go very low-buy this coming year and love what I have! I’ve not tried the Roman paints yet.
Love this round-up of your favs, Sketches. Likewise, I've been using better papers and it makes soooo much difference. That said, Cellulose papers have their place, as I've found my Inktense pencils are great on Cellulose. Maybe it's just me as I was playing and enjoying it. I've put your sketchbook recommendations on my wishlist... yet, I'm loving Stillman & Birn papers; Jackson's sell samples of Stillman & Birn paper weights and colour tones cheaply which is brilliant, so I think I've found my preferred sketchbooks. That said, I buy imperial full sheets of arches hot pressed and cold pressed and cut to size (making my own sketchbooks with the cinch machine, which also saves quids). I think I really need to try out Roman's watercolours, especially the granulating colours, because they are more economical. My favourite art supplies this year are Neocolour watercolour crayons. I've been haing a blast! I've been enjoying using mixed media in my sketchbooks... watercolour paint, neocolour crayons, watercolour pencils, coloured pencils, and white gouache for highlights. Still learning what works for me and streamlining the kit for urban sketching, but still take too much on location, lol. Anywho, have a happy Christmas, or happy Holiday, Sketches xxx
Those florals are really pretty and the Pentel 1000 is very nice quality, I also have one. In terms of fine liners, to my knowledge the best on the market would be Sakura Pigma Micron. I tried some other known brands, but they don't perform as well in long length and also they don't have line weight variation. 😊😊
Great recap, much appreciated! My fav art supply in 2022 was my Caran ‘Ache watercolor pencils, you and several other artists inspired me to get over ‘their precious’ status and just use them. Bliss-a-mania was instant! Happy Holidays, and here’s to continued painting in 2023 🥂🍾🎄✨🤘🏾💫💜
This year I really liked using gansai watercolour paints I’ve been using kuretake and choosing keeping sets and they helped me learn to use watercolour better as someone who primarily uses acrylic, I’d like to try gouache next year and I’m hoping to try some nicer watercolours maybe Holbein 😌😏
I bought the Stay Wet palette when you first raved about it! I haven't put my gouache in there yet because I still haven't started painting much lol. But I am currently obsessed with Ferris Wheel Press inks. I got to see a fellow calligrapher paint with them and my goodness it was stunning! She said they make absolutely brilliant watercolor art even though they're touted for fountain pen use. I'm a brand ambassador for them so at least I get to try a bunch of inks out now 🥰
My watercolor palette is mostly Daniel Smith and Qor and they are all beautiful beautiful paints. I don't yet have a paper that doesn't cause harsh lines, so I have a few of your suggestions on my wishlist. I love my Pigma Microns in 01 and 03. I am also falling in looove with colored pencils right now, especially when layering them on top of some loose watercolors. I also find colored mechanical pencils to be my favorite thing for sketching!
You made amazing progress on your RS 17 color palette, wow!your landscapes in gouache and watercolor florals are so beautiful. loved making my 2021 favorite supplies video and my 2022 is up soon! I love watching these from other artists, too!! Thank you for the shoutout, I loved the Jackson’s haul video when you hauled the stay wet palette. This video was awesome!!
@@SketchesnScrubs You and that palette were meant for each other, you would have found it eventually on SBS if you didn't see it on CCA first! I agree on these videos being more valuable than unboxings (although once I've decided to buy something, I do go back and watch unboxing videos of that item just for the excitement factor lol!)!!
I can't believe I'm just getting your video suggested now... I love your art style so much, you explain things so well and concisely, you're well organized (thank you for using chapters omg so helpful), and the videos you've linked (like the travel tips) would have been SO helpful to me when I was looking for those tips earlier this year!! Also you use almost the same exact supplies as I do so I seriously can't believe I've only now found you. So glad I've found this video now🤗 Never subscribed so fast💛 P.S. the barrier you described with using your W&N gouache is exactly what I've been feeling, so you might have just convinced me to look for this palette😊 Edit: omg I'm only a little over halfway through the video and we have some of the same favorite supplies! I'm using W&N gouache, I love my reliable Daniel Smith paints (and I have nearly the same colors which is crazy), gotta have that cotton paper with organic texture instead of weird grids, and I have tried several brushes but I always go for my Aqua Elites (I have size #2 and #6 which I love, but I've been eyeing the #12). You have impeccable taste😉😆 This means I clearly have to try R.S. paints and all the other supplies and colors you love because the similarities in taste are uncanny🙈 Edit 2: Since you asked, some of my favorite art supplies❤(I'll stick to ones you don't already have hehe): - I'm obsessed with Holbein Jaune Brilliante No. 2 (it's a gorgeous peach that would be great as a rosy Naples yellow when thinned out, but also ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS when in a gradient or mixed with a quinacridone rose) - although I love the accessibility of dried watercolor pans, I've been exploring M. Graham colors in tubes (they're made with honey so they don't dry down completely in most climates) and they're beyond creamy and they spread so well on paper it's a dream. So I make an exception for those paints and use them from the tube. My favorite color is their quinacridone rose (I like it even better than the Daniel Smith quin rose!) - I love the color Indanthrone blue in watercolor. If you haven't tried it yet you HAVE TO, trust me. It's a beautiful single pigment deep blue that just has a certain glow. (Some companies call it Anthraquinoid Blue) - Daniel Smith Quinacridone Burnt Orange (I was so obsessed with it when I bought I literally made an entire monochromatic painting with it) - for opacity, Holbein Permanent White gouache is awesome (I use it instead of bleed proof white for details on watercolor paintings) - I love my Portable Painter as my travel palette. The water cups attaching on the sides make it really useful to hold or set on your lap outside. It's just a pretty cool invention if you haven't heard of it by any chance.
I have picked up a few things after watching you swatch and utilize them on your channel. Your channel and your art is just so relatable for me. And sometimes that makes a huge difference in how I see or feel about a supply. So thank you! I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and may the New Year bring you great things!
It’s fun to see your growth since you started this channel, and the supplies you’re using to make your beautiful artwork. My favorites are my good old Ebony jet black pencil, & pen & ink. I’m embarrassed to have mentioned years creating. The last few years I’ve been trying my hand at watercolor, gouache and colored pencil. Your use of color is very inspiring.😊
It was great to see all your favorites of the year! It was very inspiring! One of my favorites this year we’re my Schmincke Akademie watercolors and my Goldfaber Aqua Dual Markers.. also the Artxx colored pencils.. To work mixed media.. 😊 Have a wonderful Christmas! ✨ Xoonani
@@SketchesnScrubs I sooo splurged and got the 48 set. I think they have 80 colors. Not sure how to get them all. They sell out super fast. They smell sooo good. Like rosemary.
Loved seeing all your favourites! I finally ordered a set of Roman Szmal!! I chose the Jane Blundell set, but I haven’t tried them yet, I’m saving them for 2023 😊. My favourites from 2022 include: Paper: Arches paper or Etchr sketchbooks; Arches is surprisingly the cheapest cotton paper my local store sells Paint: Daniel Smith / MaimeriBlu / Schmincke paints (DS and MB are the two brands my local art store has the biggest selection of; they also put those two brands on sale frequently) Brushes: Princeton or Escoda paintbrushes I have purchased gouache paint but haven’t tried it yet! Work has been a bit crazy and I just know I’ll open it and only get to use it sporadically and it will dry out. I want to try it at a time when I’ll be able to focus on it consistently and learn how to use it. So, no favourites for gouache supplies yet.
Hi! What palette are you putting the Roman szmal paints in? I have like 50 colors and would love an oversized palette like that to put them in. Thank you!!
I had ordered a Strathmore Visual Journal watercolor spiral, A5 5.5" x 8" from Amazon because it was on sale for like $5. Amazon sent me FIFTEEN of them! I quickly checked the receipt and my credit card, but they did only charge me for one, lol I did not notify Amazon. tsk tsk. But they have messed up, smashed up, and gotten so many of my orders wrong that I didn't feel I should have to trouble myself with this mistake, too. One time I ordered a pad of Canson Mi Teintes paper, marked down to $6, but what they sent me was the Mi Tientes pad COVER, with a bunch of generic primary colored card stock.
I know your trying to be interesting but when you keep flopping your hands around with the product in them I can’t see the details of the product. I’m talking about the Pentel mechanical pencil. Lovely Art 🤤

Peace
One of my favourites are the Derwent Inktense pencils and blocks
I’ve just tried the canson paper and I didn’t like it either… I’m going to gift it to a friend who does like the paper lol
I suggest also trying to use the papers for other media / types of art / experiments/ drills etc and making time to use the nice paper you enjoy.
Lovely! Thank you for sharing,
The Hahnemühle cellulose watercolor book has really served me well! 😊
Thanks again for the video and for making my tea-break!
Amazing collection!💓❤️🌞😊
I love 100% cotton paper,...but its out of my budget
my favourite supply actually has no brand really, its an etching 'pen' composed of 2mm clutch pencil with a 2mm tig tungsten rod sharpened in it (dont use the red tipped ones, if someone wants to make one of their own). works perfectly for etching 😀
I love my Daniel Smith watercolors & Etchr everyday sketchbook. I got a pencil case from a thrift shop that I'm very happy with to make a travel kit. I'm now experimenting with gouache.
@@SketchesnScrubs nothing yet but thinking about using inks to give it a "tied dyed" look. Using purples & greens....
I want to try the Roman szmal paints. 🥺Also I love love LOVE your florals!!!!!! I also recommend you try the dagger brush.
Love watching fave videos like this. So glad your vid was recommended to me. Your editing and voice over is so enjoyable. Definitely subbed!
One of my illustration professors recommended Schminke watercolor pans, and I have enjoyed those a lot! (MVP, baby XD)
Thank you! I love everything you share ❤
Awww thank you so much Emma ❤️
I love seeing your videos. Personally I love flat brushes. I never found travel ones but still looking for one. Happy new year. 🎉
Merry Christmas love art supplies bless you
You have some awesome favourites. Due to your recommendations, throughout the year, I have picked up the stay wet palette, the Roman Szmal watercolours and the PR watercolour sketchbooks. Thank you for bringing these items to my attention, I like them a lot. Keep creating 💛💜💙
Agree 💯👍🏾❤
If you like the Aqua Elite brushes you may like Black Velvet Silver brushes. I bought a size 12 and like the slightly firmer bristles. And I looove my Roman Smazl paints. I went a bit overboard, I have like 25 now 🖤
Seconding silver black velvet!
Thank you for sharing! I may purchase some of your favorites to try out.
Your art 😱😱❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
So glad I've found this video now🤗
Never subscribed so fast💛
P.S. the barrier you described with using your W&N gouache is exactly what I've been feeling, so you might have just convinced me to look for this palette😊
Edit: omg I'm only a little over halfway through the video and we have some of the same favorite supplies! You have impeccable taste😉😆 This means I clearly have to try R.S. paints and all the other supplies and colors you love because the similarities in taste are uncanny🙈
Edit 2: Since you asked, some of my favorite art supplies❤(I'll stick to ones you don't already have hehe):
- I'm obsessed with Holbein Jaune Brilliante No. 2 (it's a gorgeous peach that would be great as a rosy Naples yellow when thinned out, but also ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS when in a gradient or mixed with a quinacridone rose)
- although I love the accessibility of dried watercolor pans, I've been exploring M. Graham colors in tubes (they're made with honey so they don't dry down completely in most climates) and they're beyond creamy and they spread so well on paper it's a dream. So I make an exception for those paints and use them from the tube. My favorite color is their quinacridone rose (I like it even better than the Daniel Smith quin rose!)
- I love the color Indanthrone blue in watercolor. If you haven't tried it yet you HAVE TO, trust me. It's a beautiful single pigment deep blue that just has a certain glow. (Some companies call it Anthraquinoid Blue)
- Daniel Smith Quinacridone Burnt Orange (I was so obsessed with it when I bought I literally made an entire monochromatic painting with it)
- for opacity, Holbein Permanent White gouache is awesome (I use it instead of bleed proof white for details on watercolor paintings)
- I love my Portable Painter as my travel palette.
✨ Xoonani
I LOVE A. Gallo watercolors. Have you tried them? Handmade in Italy❤
My favourites from 2022 include:
Paper: Arches paper or Etchr sketchbooks; Arches is surprisingly the cheapest cotton paper my local store sells
Paint: Daniel Smith / MaimeriBlu / Schmincke paints (DS and MB are the two brands my local art store has the biggest selection of; they also put those two brands on sale frequently)
Brushes: Princeton or Escoda paintbrushes
I have purchased gouache paint but haven’t tried it yet!
Thank you!!
Mele Kalikimaka!!
Thank you for sharing.
Merry Christmas and happy new year 🎉 ✨️ 💖
I need that pencil supply case you demonstrated but i didn't catch the name of
@@SketchesnScrubs thanks!
Your editing skills are incredible🥰 loved watching this video so much! I hope you will start to sell prints of your artwork soon 😄
Those florals are the bomb
Hi i would like to ask the name of the palette where you put your roman szmal paints?
Thank you so much!
I had ordered a Strathmore Visual Journal watercolor spiral, A5 5.5" x 8" from Amazon because it was on sale for like $5.
Amazon sent me FIFTEEN of them! I quickly checked the receipt and my credit card, but they did only charge me for one, lol
I did not notify Amazon.

@@SketchesnScrubs Just get some. They're exquisite.
I was hoping to see pastels, since they are your thumbnail, but then you only talk about watercolors so I'm a little confused
Just use paul rubens for practice. Its as cheap as cellulose paper
I know your trying to be interesting but when you keep flopping your hands around with the product in them I can’t see the details of the product. I’m talking about the Pentel mechanical pencil. Lovely Art 🤤
