    Thank you! Bottom line up front: it's placebo.
    Suction does not stop histamine released from cellular processes. The itching sensation is similar to pain (physiological speaking)...so it is HIGHLY controlled by placebo, which you suggested it may be.

    I have one and it's great!!! I have stayed up many sleepless nights itching with no relief, I get up, use the bug bite thing and I can actually see the clear liquid that came out afterward no more itching, well worth the money.

      Not sure where to start with this but will give it my best. Number one, I explain in the video why it might relieve itching in some people. Number two, the clear liquid if later in the night is most likely lymph, fluid from subcutaneous tissue from your histamine response NOT mosquito saliva. The amount of saliva that is expressed by a mosquito is less than one mm. So good luck. Glad it works for you.

      @@SurviveOutdoors My daughter loves the damned thing. She gets bitten (Minnesotan here) she uses it, it doesn't itch, she's happy. I mean, I don't know what to say. Personally I use the backpack Thermocell Mosquite Repeller and avoid the bites altogether, but if you tried to take away the girls' Bug Bite Thing I think they'd probably fight you and win. Heh.

    I take high dose liposomal Vitamin C for health and nutrition benefits (aging, gums, immune, metabolis, etc). It also is a natural anti-histamine. I no longer have nearly the same bad reactions anymore as I used to have. Bee, wasp, fleas, allergies

      @@KAZPERFOX Pill just bc it's more convenient. I use Moxyvites brand they use organic cherries, rose hips, camu camu etc. I personally take 5-6g daily but take the amount that works for you. Humans, fruit bats, couple of other species can no long produce our own Vitamin C. We must get it from the diet. Goats for example is the king for making their own Vita C. They hardly ever fall ill and have robust immune coincidentally

    Maybe it works better on some people than others, or it is the placebo effect. Everyone I know who’s used one seems to swear by it, but in my experience it’s just a great way to instantly inflame and infect your bug bites

      I have not tried Heroin, or close to 200,000 prescription drugs either. I can still tell you side effects, efficacy and potential problems. Have not used a snake bite kit but can tell you with one hundred percent certainty suction does not work for snake bites. Good luck.

    • @WildVee
      @WildVee 2 роки тому +1

      @@SurviveOutdoors Yeah yeah, I saw you use heroin as a bs argument in another comment. That's not a valid argument - that's strawmanning. You cannot use an ingestable highly addictive drug and compare it to something that has 0 ingredients in it that isn't even used for the same outcome or treatment. But let's use a different drug as an example, let's use an anti depressant. It won't work for everybody, but it will work for some people. Does that mean it doesn't work? It seems to me you have a very ignorant way of thinking, and for whatever reason hate a product without any real reason or solid argument behind it. Many people have had relief because of it, just because it doesn't work for you (which, you never even tested), doesn't mean it does not work.
      "Hey! I never had cancer or tried chemotherapy, but I can gurantee you it's snake oil and doesn't work!"

    What do you recommend to prevent dengue fever? We're traveling to Brazil soon and there is an epidemic there

    • @SurviveOutdoors
      @SurviveOutdoors  4 місяці тому

      I would use any brand with Picaridin. I believe Cutter makes one. IMO better than DEET. Apply about every four hours. If out in dawn or dusk hours they have clothes impregnated with Deet also. Deet not very effective for Dengue but still has some benefit.

      Sawyer also has a line of Picaridin repellents(aerosol, pump spray, and lotion). I Know Target has carried it in the past along with a local hardware store chain.
      I swear by the stuff now, after accidentally discovering an old spray can with picaridin and how well it worked(that brand discontinued that picaridin can though).

      I do not have to take morphine to know and instruct people the results. I have used suction devices as I discuss. Sorry with this item, use of the plastic item and knowing the physiology of bites and reactions no need to use directly.

    This seemed like a very biased review. How are you even going to test it out without a bug bite lol? I've been using the tool for years, and it's actually changed my life since I suffer from skeeter syndrome. Here are some tips for you since my husband has hairy arms, and you can't get the best suction on a hairy arm unless you wet your hair a little. My mother, who's in her 70's uses the tool, and she only pulls the handles until you feel a suction. I feel like if you use the tool correctly, you'll have great results, just like my family and me. I think you should actually do your research instead of trying to put down this product that's obviously helped so many. By the way, your comment of not knowing that the reviews are fake or not is very ignorant because, with a 4 star and 33k reviews on amazon, they would've definitely been suspended. Of course the tool isn't going to prevent a disease lol they even say that it doesn't. So do you think putting a Band-Aid on a deep wound is the same as stitches lol. DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!

    • @SurviveOutdoors
      @SurviveOutdoors  3 роки тому +2

      You are cleay very passionate. Glad it worked for you. I specifically state that if it works and there are pos reviews I explain how it might work and get relief. Comparing a band aid to an extractor to remove mosquito saliva.....well I have no response to that. Again glad it works for your family. Still cannot support it. Ty for the passionate response.

      @@SurviveOutdoors LOL I wasn't comparing the band aid to the extractor. How are you going to review something that you didn't even use properly? You didn't even use it on a bug bite. You tested the suction on you hairy arm that's it lol.

      @@SurviveOutdoors you stated your opinion for others to hear so that implies that you are expecting somebody to process that information and do something with it. But that will only happen if they respect your opinion. All I'm saying is that it seems to me that you have not made a very strong case here. I'm not trying to troll you or ruffle any feathers. But can you at least test the product that you are reviewing? This seems like a pretty obvious thing to do.

    • @SurviveOutdoors
      @SurviveOutdoors  3 роки тому

      @@ChiefSupreme6803 my point is simple. I do not need to test a suction device for venom which mosquitos do not have. I do not need to get snake bit to test sawyer test kit as the countless peer review articles clearly show it does not work. I do not need to test this device as I explained how it might work through physiology of histamine. No ...I do not need to test this. Second, there a ton of people, instructors who I do not respect but I value their opinion as they are more knowledgeable on a topic than I. Thanks for the discussion.
