Finland has had E10 for about a decade by now. The questions and discussions you are having now we had a long time ago. It all blew over, everything works and nobody gives it any thought.
It looks sensational. Was in Paris 10 days ago, saw a 408 in a very smart area (16th arrondissement, filled with ornate 19th-century buildings, prestigious avenues and boulevards) , I can tell you it's a head turner, it looks really really posh. Tourists were taking pictures and were wondering if it was a Porsche.
I have a new 308 sw with the same PHEV 225bhp kit. I've had it since November 22. On electric mode I'm lucky to get 25 miles. In the winter months I was down to 18. It runs well in hybrid, but, to get the most out of it you must keep it charged up via 3 pin plug. The quality of the car is fabulous. The ride although at bit firm is very comfortable. Exceleration is good, motorway cruising is silent. Its very similar to the 408, so I reckon the 408 would be an excellent choice
Agree with you Bob, that is a great looking car, Peugeot have always made good cars, Just not a brand you would boast owning one. The bigger cars used to depreciate rapidly. Economical, and well equipped. I love they way Irish people say Peugeot "Peuw gio" I watched a video on YT about an American lady comedian saying English words, I did not realise she had said Peugeot until the English Comedian corrected her.
Bob sorry to hear that you have cancer hope everything goes fine for you in the future and a again very sorry to hear that bad new wish you all the best in the future
Yep … have you EVER heard anyone say Perjo ???!! Next thing, Bob will be saying Caw instead of Cayr- the way most of us say it over here 😂 - hope you stop saying this Bob… - it’s an Irish channel after all. Hopefully Nobby and and Declan stop doing it too. Jeez, lads! For feck sake. Let’s stop apologising. Marek doesn’t apologise for HIS accent. Rant over! For now 😂!
In my opinion should be added to that and yes there are plenty of other cars on the market but I think this is a change of the game especially if it gets rid of the SUV
You never said anything about the horrible lump of black plastic stuck on the rear bumper Bob. Its like they had the car designed and then said do you know what's let's stick some black plastic on the rear down low to make it look worse lol.
Would that be the same reinvention that’s also the Citroën C5x? Seems very similar. Just Peugeot’s version of the Stelantis Group design? The Citroën certainly looks quite impressive in the metal. Possibly a little smoother on the eye than this?
I like the look of it but 50k is far too much, the 1.2 is too weedy and I really wish they'd put the 1.5 hdi 130 in as an option as well especially as one of its sister cars the c4x is being introduced with that very diesel engine as it's presently electric only. I'd be curious to know if also you'd notice much difference between the 180hp version and the 225, I mean yes I know there's a difference of 45hp which isn't insignificant but because its a phev and because it's automatic I don't think there'd be that much in it. Bottom line for that one even at a base figure of 40k is that it's still too expensive. I shudder to think what the full EV version will cost.
@@garnray8568 sorry but I disagree if I'd 50k to throw at a car it wouldn't be one of them nice though it is, I beg to differ.... And also who wants an Audi? As Mr Clarkson observed Audi drivers have no friends!
As for heating you use the voice assistant to set it to what you want no need use screen. As for E10 your dead right you will burn more to do same milage as has being said on many UK forums about it. Nice car lovely design etc etc but if you have a problem your left pulling hair out your head trying deal with Peugeot, I have the new 308 with numerous electric problems from day 1 and still Peugeot won't deal with them, it's excuse after excuse hoping you will just go away, had many over years but this is last time for me, worst after sale service ever
It looks a bit odd to me, bot sure about the grille, bit of a mish mash Looks good from the side Could be a game changer in the market Still don't like the small square steering wheel
Had a new 208 for a few weeks, and surprised that I got used to the wheel fairly quickly. The control stalks were the only thing that took me a while to get used to the different layout. Looking over the wheel at the binnacle became “2nd nature”. Enjoyed driving it then. That 408 looks amazing.
SUV bashing is uniformed. If somebody wants to sit up slightly higher, or struggles to get down into/up out of a standard car, why on earth could this be considered a problem for other people. These SUVs that the mob bash are not big heavy fuel hungry Ford Raptors, but instead they are VW Tiguans/Nissan Qashqai etc which are safe and just as environmentally friendly/damaging as a lower car (minus a negligible amount of efficiency lost through drag coefficient).
Peugeots are looking better these days, gone are the awful things they were selling in the noughties. They might have listened to Top Gear who slated them 10yrs back.
This not an SUV do or even a CUV. Not really sure what it is. Also Peugeot make a hatchback 308 and a saloon 508 still too as well estate versions of them.
Resubscribed after the YT hack, hope you are good mate, got some catching up to do! BRING BACK THE KNOBS!
Thanks very much, it really does mean a lot to be back at it!

Interesting car Bob - seen a couple on the road - looks a bit odd to me but admire Peugeot design generally
Design is a bit different but that’s not a bad thing - everything is looking so similar on the roads these days
A most interesting vehicle indeed this Pugh-Joe as I call them!! Enjoying the videos on the channel well done 👍👍

Back bumper looks septic
Drove this today and I have to say shocked by the quality
Beautiful inside
Shocked as in good or as in bad?
It looks like a Rover SD1 from the side. That's a good thing. 😎
Interesting, I see what you mean. Great looking car

€50k also gets you a Model Y also at the moment, albeit a single motor model. Second-hand value in 5 years time would be interesting to compare.
At least the Peugeot has decent build quality. The model 3 isn't great in this regard

What would be the best home character to get do you think
When I looked at it no spec had heated seats. Have they sorted it? Great review!
Nope! Heated massage seats are a 3 grand extra😢
Best looking car on the market? Reinvented the car market? Do they not sell other brands in Ireland? 😅
In my opinion should be added to that and yes there are plenty of other cars on the market but I think this is a change of the game especially if it gets rid of the SUV
He's one of the few objective reviewers not paid to sing or just parroting the VAG song
Hi Bob, did you stop doing your sunday lives?
I'll be honest, I'm waiting for test results on something before I start back at it. Full details next week after I find out

50k isn't too much for a car like that. All car makers have raised their prices. Inflation. Audi prices will go up by 30% - 40% in 2024...

@@stevencampbell1150 Just want to say that the era where 30-40k were enough to get a very nice car with a real posh feeling is over.

Thanks for the video review bob usual irish charm and very informative bob have. Yourself a pint of guineas and treat yourself to fish and chips
Nice but spoilt by that chunk of rear plastic pretending to be a bumper.
I think the Citroen C5-X is a far classier and much better looking car. I would have the Citroen.
Bob looking like a young Iain Tyrrell !

This engine bay looks messier than a Fiat Bravas from 20 years ago. This car should electric anyway.
Saw one in the flesh the other day, I think they are god awful looking.
I strongly disagree. It's a stunningly beautiful car.
