David, wow ! I would never guess you've put contact paper. It ends so nice and perfect that really looks that it's part of the Byas TV stand !! You had a GREAT idea and with a low cost !! Thanks a lot for your most detailed video. I was thinking to buy this TV bench and thanks to you, I will definitly do it. And I will alsodo your contact paper idea :) Best luck to you
I actually found out your channel while searching for reviews for the IKEA bed sofa. Your review was the one I relied on to get it. Always enjoy watching your clips. Well made.
I imagine it's much easier to do it with two people. Thanks! I was really surprised how nice it came out in person. The contact paper looks really fake when in a roll but after I installed it, look surprisingly realistic.
Hello David I just Bought this Byas tv stand and is ready, but I still don't understand in the manual what is the step 25 for,can you explain me please?. Thank you and I'll waiting for your answer
I absolutely agree about the size. I run into issues that Ikea furniture doesn't fit my space. However, this furniture looks way too boring so I am looking for ways to make it work (low cost, furniture that fit, a little more wood look). Thanks for all the info, I feel a little better with this piece of furniture. Still not my top pick, but the size and price (and even I copy your contact paper hack) works
I really like your videos. You don't shout and get over hyped about anything. Btw I wouldn't be surprised if IKEA makes a video telling people they can use contact paper to customize their products.
What’s the height of your center channel speaker? I’m just thinking if my 8 inches height center speaker will fit and my amplifier at the bottom. Unfortunately these details are not available from IKEA website.
At my local Ikea they got rid of the Lack on their website, surprising as it was easily the most stylish & cheapest out of a bunch Still, I like this one too (my receiver can't fit in the Lack so its on the floor) & didn't realise the top was contact till you mentioned it!
What about the receiver ventilation? Doesn't it get very hot? Usually, the ventilation holes are on the top of the unit, and the manufacturers recommend at least 2 inches of free space above the unit, which is about 5cm. As I can see you have about 1 inch or less above the receiver.
Thanks for this! I had a BESTA configuration for nearly 3 times the money in mind and was ready to go buy it, but then i checked one last time what other options are available. I wasn't so sure about the BYAS at first, because it only ways "white" and i wanted glossy white, but after watching your video and seeing the much better backside (than the BESTA), i'll go get one of these instead. Thanks again & cheers!
Hi could you tell me please how much room is in the middle? I also have a Mid-Speaker and a Receiver I want to fit, so maybe tell me, how many centimeters (height) I have in both of fields in the middle ?
Hi, Thank you very much for your nice video. I just bought this TV stand and I have difficulty assembling it. Your video is great but a little fast for me to follow. Would you give me a slower motion so that I could assemble it? Thank you
Hey David, I'm thinking about getting the same rack. I own a very heavy 50" plasma TV which weighs 50kg, I'm wondering if the Byas can withstand this weight since it's not made of massive wood. What do you think?
Hey David, IKEA Byas seems to have a hook on the back that they say you should connect to the wall. Did you do that? I'm not sure i want to destroy my wall but also not sure if it's safe to not do it.
good look, thanks for sharing. question: where did you get the contact paper from? it's fantastic edit: sorry, found it in your description. very cool, thanks again
Good question. I haven't tested that. But I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. Installing the drawer only in the middle should work fine. Just to clarify for anyone else who may read this comment. You cannot install the drawers in the middle+right or middle+left because drawer fronts overlap, but just the middle should work perfectly
Hi. What is the internal size of the unit? Will I be able to fit HiFi components whose depth is around 39/40cm (including cables) on the shelves on the sides?
It fits but the drawer traps a lot of the heat from the PS4 when playing. My solution is turn the PS4 backwards and open the drawer when playing so it exhausts directly outside of the drawer. When I'm done I can close the drawer no issue to keep it clean and tidy. I guess the main downside is that you can access the CD tray or power button but I don't really use those anyways.
David Zhang i was going to tell you that the systems will heat up quickly in those drawers. leaving the drawers open while playing compromises the clean look.
Wait, you said you needed closed system because of the dust and you end up placing receiver of all of the places on the OPEN SHELF and milimmeters of the most dusty place FLOOR. And you added awkward echo to a center speaker placing it on the tunnel??? So what did you put in drawers to keep dustproof then?
Your voice is very soothing. And I can tell your patience is impeccable.

I have absolutely no interest in this product, but your videos are so well done that I enjoyed watching it.
lol. Thanks!
Absolutely true. I second that! Thanks man!

I was COMPLETELY fooled by the contact paper. It looks very hard to do to that level of finish. Beautiful result tho!
I imagine it's much easier to do it with two people.

I like this TV console, just right for my budget and minimalist look in the living room!
Your videos are on point! you deserve 100000x more subscribers!
Thanks man!
I love the wood look!
You did a great job in transforming it. It is beautiful. Thanks for sharing this idea.
It would also look nice to put some wood legs on there and change out the cabinet handles.
I was so shocked when you said it was contact paper! It looks really good! Did you wrap around into the corners or did you cut each side?
What’s the height of your center channel speaker? I’m just thinking if my 8 inches height center speaker will fit and my amplifier at the bottom. Unfortunately these details are not available from IKEA website.
Do you have the assembly video? I am struggling here to assemble it :)
Love it bro - keep on :)

Still, I like this one too (my receiver can't fit in the Lack so its on the floor) & didn't realise the top was contact till you mentioned it!
Yeah. They phased out the white color lack tv stand at my Ikea, which I thought was weird too. It is a really good basic option.
I love the music you play.

HI very nice video, I had a small question, can it be installed on a wall? thanks
How did you wrap around the corners so perfectly?!
MeegoWin asking the important questions
Your voice is so soothing... I need more

same thing for me. I really wanted to see the back for the wire space it had.
great video as always!
Which sound system are you using - amplifier and speaker ?
I like your perspective on things .... big fan of your work
keep it up
I bought mine yesterday its perfect
Hi could you tell me please how much room is in the middle? I also have a Mid-Speaker and a Receiver I want to fit, so maybe tell me, how many centimeters (height) I have in both of fields in the middle ?
Great video dude.
Definetely time to upgrade the TV though ;p
yes, get a 85 inch!! =p
Not sure what is interesting I found here... but you just got a new subscriber, great short and amazing looking videos!!
lol. Thanks!
Can you to top 5 favorite tech? Not necessarily like on a budget, just 5 essentials that you always have with you
Great idea! I'll try something like that for one of my future videos!
Good one! But did you also consider the height of the TV stand? It confuses me a lot whether to have a higher or lower TV stand.
awesome video!! what's your job? any in the pc industries?
Hi,
Thank you very much for your nice video. I just bought this TV
stand and I have difficulty assembling it. Your video is great but a little
fast for me to follow. Would you give me a slower motion so that I could assemble
it?
Thank you
Hi, I was thinking of buying this but I feel as if it might be a little too short. What are your thoughts on the height?
Is it safe to I add a capita leg to make it a little higher ?
awesome video and great tip!
how do you only have 6k subs. awesome videos!!
Did you attach the tv unit to the wall as warned in the manual ?
Awsome hack 👍
what is the inner size where your center and speaker is? thank you !
At 0:14, how'd you do the Final Cut Pro effect with the text since ur a PC guy. I've been trying to figure that out for a year!!! pls help
Use windows movie maker
Awesome vid! Keep it up!
Hey David, I'm thinking about getting the same rack. I own a very heavy 50" plasma TV which weighs 50kg, I'm wondering if the Byas can withstand this weight since it's not made of massive wood. What do you think?
At 1:03, howd you do the TV draw outline effect on PC? I've been trying to figure that out for 6 months now. helppp pls
Read up on the "trim paths" feature in after effects. That should help you get started.
+David Zhang thx so much, how do u do the text pointing effect at 0:14?
Hey David, IKEA Byas seems to have a hook on the back that they say you should connect to the wall. Did you do that? I'm not sure i want to destroy my wall but also not sure if it's safe to not do it.
I don't. I'm not really worried about this short cabinet falling over. But for their legal protection they recommend it all their units.
2x12 pine wood at lowes
/hd cost $16. Two of those will cost you $35 looks way better than plastic venner plus it last longer and can be re use.
Not al of us have a word shop we can use…
amazing job!
good look, thanks for sharing. question: where did you get the contact paper from? it's fantastic
edit: sorry, found it in your description. very cool, thanks again
I'm always quite impressed by the quality of your editing and special effects, what software do you use?
Thanks! I use adobe premiere and after effects for the animations.
Awesome video bro! Congrats!
Quick question, can you put only the one drawer on the middle and leave the right and left open?
Good question. I haven't tested that. But I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. Installing the drawer only in the middle should work fine. Just to clarify for anyone else who may read this comment. You cannot install the drawers in the middle+right or middle+left because drawer fronts overlap, but just the middle should work perfectly
Thank you! It would be great for me to put only the middle drawer to hide all the cables and use the right and left for my consoles and display them.
Good video. Well put together.(no pun intended lol).
哈咯~ 我想问一下你建议全部装好再贴桌面那层纸还是先贴了再装?
Hi. What is the internal size of the unit? Will I be able to fit HiFi components whose depth is around 39/40cm (including cables) on the shelves on the sides?
Ooga booga
A great job !
does anyone know what type of tv stand is good for a 32 inch TV? Its looks weird putting a 'smaller' tv on these tv stands
That's dope!
If you click on a cat you can see a floating TV on top of a floating console which is able to accommodate a full surround sound!
Very nice
Are you still using the IKEA Markus chair? It's been 8 months since your first upload on it and I'm curious to how its held up.
I am! It's great. I love the high headrest so I can lean my head on the back and it still feels like brand new.
Good to know. I picked one up today and I'm liking it.
will a 65" tv fit ?
Has any of the wood began to bow or swell up yet?
Can you play on your playstation while it is in the drawer? Does is block the connectivity?
It fits but the drawer traps a lot of the heat from the PS4 when playing. My solution is turn the PS4 backwards and open the drawer when playing so it exhausts directly outside of the drawer. David Zhang i was going to tell you that the systems will heat up quickly in those drawers. leaving the drawers open while playing compromises the clean look.
what software do you use to make the video
I use premiere and after effects
what kind of speakers
Definitely need a new TV asap. lol
Haha. yeah...
Interesting but doesn’t fit my Polk 706c which is 28.75” wide. :)
Gret video

Thats cute
Nice

Byas is alright but should of checked out FJÄLLBO TV bench. It has a solid metal and wood construction and costs the same price.
❤💙😃
damn that old xbox 360 controller tho
smart
Would have been mush more useful if you gave measurements in inches rather than cm.
I live in Byas XD
Hi Zonetravaux - Your Video Ikea Hack Diy By Zone Travaux : Le Meuble Tv Perso, Hopefully Will Inspire Many People. Amen...
