Been loving this game for a few weeks, so glad you streamed it and got these guys the exposure the game deserves rather than it just being buried on steam
@@thelegacyofgaming2928 i highly doubt it, the game is out for a month or two, with 2k players a day, he just started playing it and enjoyed it, which put the game to a 20k+ daily players for now, its still only 4/5 ppl int he credits they will try to add things rapidly after this but it will lose the playerbase agian, i personally put 20 hours in the game in 3 days and i got absolutely hooked after doing evertying i went to vampire survivors, actually, nobody fucking asked my take idk why i even bother to type but i just say reply and instead of deleting my beautiful comment
I was expecting alot more content because I didn't see it's early access when I bought it. So after you beat act 3 and get some upgrades, items and potions you get very strong. It kinda removes a big part of the challenge, you basically can't fail a run anymore no matter what traits you take. But I think this will change with updates, and as you said a workshop would be so fcking awesome. Also the game is only 5€, 4€ on sale atm and that is a much higher value than any game I have bought in a long time. Already easy 10/10 if you like the genre.

If you like this type of game I recommend Boneraiser Minions, which is similar in gameplay (a *liiiitle* bit more passive, as you don't actively control your attacks, sorta like Vampire Survivors. But you do get a dash which can be upgraded/modified during gameplay) and has more content and a leaderboard, plus a newgame+ mode (as well as other game modes, including a card game) where you can basically try to get as high a score as possible.
With elven boots and going all in on block/defense with lots of health regen was the easiest run I've ever had literally zero stress and at the end doing 4-5k crits on boss lol

Can't wait for more content so Asmon can play this more. Like 1-2 hours of content on UA-cam is so nice to just sit back and relax. The entertainment value between this and vampire survivors is top tier.
I'd like to see randomized final boss spawns; that way you can have a larger selection and not 100% know which boss you'lll get until you hit the timer. More maps too, but randomized final bosses would be cool imo.
Infinite mode would be cool too. Every 10 min you get a boss or something. After reaching character lvl 100 the restriction to perks gets reset, so you can take different uprgade paths while still keeping the ones you took before.
Orbs are the best ability in the game, but i haven't seen them at their peak in any videos. You never take the shrink area upgrade, you unlock all orbs, max area %, and only take the 3 attribute orb upgrade. Then max movement speed with the sorceress (she'll have +12% options). You get the orbs spinning so fast they become a cloud. You don't even need basic attacks at that point. You can run full speed through every mob.
I agree. Just an amazing game whether indie or not. Hella props to to the developers and I wish they get huge recognition and can continue to create more for this game and hopefully expand to more. Hella awesome game. Also props to the other game before this that inspired this. You know who you are.
I noticed a pattern with these kind of games, once you upgrade permanent passives it no longer matters what build you use because you become too powerful
Two things I hope the game implements in the future: 1. additional well retrieval chance, meaning one for the Cupbearer once you complete his quest and one for an item. It really sucks having to decide to extract another potion or a new piece of gear. 2. Magnet drop chance. Somehow Asmon gets the luck of the Gods finding 3-4 magnets per run (or on screen at once) but most the time that's not the case. Sometimes you never find one past the additional spawn and it doesn't feel great Other than that, 10/10 game. Sorceress and Shield Maiden are my favorites so far, Exterminator seems a bit weak but I don't have great gear for him either
Bring back Halls of Torment, it was released in full last month and released for Android offline and iOS too. I bought it on Android offline and I'm playing it really well.
a rouge with throwing knife base attack that bleeds ice wizard with awesome pierce abilities druid that uses poison and stuns alchemist that uses explosive flasks but I really think they should have a level 55-60 variation of the base attack of all characters that goes with whatever your traits build up to.
I'd like to see them make the item direction indicators a little bit bigger around the edges of the screen. I didn't even notice them for the first hour or so of playing the game with my old man eyes. I'm talking about the little indicators which show you which direction to travel to find certain items in the level (magnets, keys, pickups, etc). Also, there's a small bug with the analog stick controls when playing on a gamepad. The game will sometimes snap your aiming in the opposite direction if you let go of the right stick too quickly. They need to add a little bit of hysteresis on the right analog stick input for aiming.
Here's an (old) really good idea: In Warcraft 3 there were some really fun 1v1 or 2v2 maps, where you could send enemies to other players with gold you earned and they would send them to you. With enemies sent you would create more income and your goal is to defeat the other player. These maps were really fun to play, but I've seen nothing that comes close to this type of game. It would be the best thing ever, if they would add that to Halls of Torment. With the character variety etc. this could be so much fun!!! Hope you played these too Asmon and you can help to promote it somehow!
I love the genre vampire survivor as opened. Halls of torment was a damn good spin on it that I enjoyed it a lot. I'd love to see Asmon play 20min till dawn and Brotato. I'm going through Brotato right now and Im impressed by all the different chacters and how they influence they way you aproach the game.
On the second stage, you can walk across the final boss’ orbs and they have a delayed explosion. This will get them off the screen and direct your minions to the boss.

Balls of Torment WERE really good that first run. Transfix and main attack were farming dps on the squishies outside while balls were lawn mowing the ghosts for 1 damage. Light is most OP vs bosses. Don't get hung up on damage / dps level 3 it's about removing close threats.
@@killerspartan666 that mini-quest to follow the blood trail and get the shards resets every time you play the same map. Doesn't necessarily be in the same spot on the map, though.
He had no problems killing the boss as is. Even with the crystals, i died 5 times before i got him 😅the secret seems to be upgrading skills at level 3 and 6 with the scrolls instead of just adding new ones, as they become very powerful. And the XP amulet helps a lot in the beginning to get levels quickly
@@killerspartan666 The amulet the blood trail gives you (both halves combined) reduces the final bosses health by 50% on each phase. It's not a one and done like Asmon thought it was, you need to do it every time *if you want/need the boss to have reduced health*. Eventually you do get powerful enough not to need it, but obviously that's not the reason I mentioned it.
@@HNedel Some skills don't really need the upgrades (ie. lightning strike) but some skills definitely get a lot of mileage out of the level 3 and level 6 upgrades. It depends on what class you're playing though and what you intend your build to achieve.
Like your idea of having an item drop for that specific map randomly with cool mods is sick. I instantly think they could do something similar to leagues in path of exile. The game has a great base. Hope it sticks around
One can retrieve two items from the well each run. One before boss spawn and one after. I'm glad I picked yhe game up. Almost have 100% all achievements

this game solves all the issues i have with ARPG, which are questing and main story leave the fake longevity stuff to MMORPGs, or make a campaing mode like starcraft 2 and warcraft 3, i care about the grind and progression only, this game + tier sets and seasonal content = perfect
These videos have been really fun to watch. I hope for more of these in the future, not just with this game. IF Genshin does happen, I want to see these too, can't always be on stream, and going for twitch VODs is annoying. I prefer youtube. Keep it up
they have been torturous for me, he avoids long fingers and gold like the plague. it hurts so much. when enemies are super weak he can totally get away with it, but he refuses and drags out the time taken to ascend.
The warlock is the highest dps based on the ingame dps counter for me personally, I have hit 13 million damage with a 22k dps on the wraiths and I think that falls on the damage distribution capabilities of said skill. He starts off extremely weak and if you get the right things he shreds, I was able to get near 4 projeciles per attack and extremely high attack speed.
fully agree, I think with the Imps ring where it spawns entities to help you is great but i think they should add a option to make the imps invisable, i dont like using that one simply because i feel like it is difficult to tell the difference between those and enemy entities, i constantly find myself trying to kill the imps when they spawn and it makes gameplay difficult with them.
The imps are not even that bad, you just have to disable damage numbers. Whats really bad is the upgrade for fire wave where you get a fire beam. That beam already blocks alot but when you get multiple beams it gets really hard to see. You basically can't get close to a boss anymore because you can't see what he is doing.
@@triploshadow The funny thing is, before they buffed Dragon's Breath wave distance, the beam upgrade was the only way to deal any real damage with it. Before, the wave would drop off before reaching anything.
Asmongold really needs to play Holocure. It's fantastic. Seems a bit more difficult than VS and has a better UI. The devs did a great job with every aspect of the game.
Not sure if anyone remembers a game called Crimsonland, it's kinda like father of this genre afaik. I loved that game and love how this genre is thriving.
I was browsing around the old steam and noticed a game that's similar to this one but is in the art style of Hades. You should check it out if you get a chance. It's called "Death must die". It's got a demo out at the moment and is going to hit early access at some point soon. Keep up the content man. My woman and I really enjoy watching you. Looking forward to more awesome videos.
Said like 20 years ago that Gauntlet got the formula perfect.. honestly even Vampire Survivors is basically a Gauntlet rip.. Old school Gauntlet is SO GOOD..
If you dont pick up the xp stuff and let them stack and merge. You get more xp when they merge into bigger one. If you want to hit the lvl 100 achievement.
Thanks for this game Asmon, I just got the last achievement and now I'll be waiting for the update to drop. I could still do a few runs for gold to buy the last few items I'm still missing but I will leave that for the new characters and halls. Thank you for giving this game its time on the sun, it was so much fun.
i dont think that would play fun in comparison to the other heroes? throwing knives or fast melee has the simplest concept. throwing traps or explosives could be a ability that the rogue opens though
@@vissermatt1058What about a combo 3 attacks 2 melee and the third is a thriwing knife and Claas ability would be bear traps(stun) second stage of ability they go boom(apply Burn) third one ad 2 another traps(one bear trap is shit so fast attack speed)
I think it'd be interesting if the rogue's attack also moved the character, either a dash or a spot dodge, and probably with I-frames would be the easiest to make work. Idk how viable that is really but it sounds neat

gear is good. ,but the true winner for this game is the potions. being able to say save like swordsman weapon prof 3 range for next level. double weapon prof damage with potion and next level double the range weapon prof.
Watching the balls dominate reminds me of Dommario and King Bible.. I write this while playing my Diablo 4 Bulwark Druid.. Once again, the best of offence is a good defence!
rogue: short range, linear (not cone based) stabbies that can stack speed and crit bonus. this can definitely work. also would not hurt to have some physical DoT like bleed because right now there is only magical damage over time (burn/electric)
@@xeoiii not really. he is trying like 5x harder than you need to. you can end up ignoring your main weapon and focus on even just one ability and destroy every mob on your screen instantly.
@@hackdotx4060it just needs more maps. The difficulty during the progression ramp up came from going to the next map. But once your builds have the bridge map on farm, then it caps out. We need more maps, and more difficult maps.

I would love for devs to give the community a steam workshop so they could make mods for this. The endless amount of hours i can pour into this omg

I tried the Shield Maiden yesterday and went mostly Defence, blocking power and health regen, she was INVINCIBLE haha.

Did a "never move" challenge run today with shield maiden on haunted caverns, did it 2nd try. She's a monster.

@@JK-jw3poit gives up to 10 extra block, which stacks with any other source of block, they're great.
This is by far the best Bullet Heaven game I've played. Asmon should come back to it for the two new maps and characters.

Orbs are op, Fireballs, Shuriken, Radiant (with debuffs). Prob the best ones after that the proj debuff.
Yeah they help for leveling but they don't help against the end bosses of each level very well in my opinion. I like the inner orbit ability upgrade.

The meta-progression is definitely powerful, but the some abilities are still way stronger than others

Upgrade the weapon to lvl 3, go to a scroll and your choice will be a legendary upgrade for the lvl 3 weapon.

at max upgrades the warlock is 1/2 the worst class in the game.

@@JK-jw3po That upgrade is uber dogshit lol you effectively nerf your own fire wave if you do that never under any circumstance get that upgrade.
@@triploshadow The funny thing is, before they buffed Dragon's Breath wave distance, the beam upgrade was the only way to deal any real damage with it. Before, the wave would drop off before reaching anything.
Asmongold really needs to play Holocure. It's fantastic. Seems a bit more difficult than VS and has a better UI. The devs did a great job with every aspect of the game.
I just wish the well would reset at the 15m mark so you can get out 1 potion item and 1 gear item per run.
Yeah, maybe have it as a skill upgrade in the pillar. Something like „less lazy well guy“. How hard can it be to lower the bucket man 🙄

If you dont pick up the xp stuff and let them stack and merge. You get more xp when they merge into bigger one. If you want to hit the lvl 100 achievement.

Thanks for this game Asmon, I just got the last achievement and now I'll be waiting for the update to drop. I could still do a few runs for gold to buy the last few items I'm still missing but I will leave that for the new characters and halls.

In response to asmon's "how would a rogue even work", I think a character that throws traps or timed explosives would be interesting.

throwing knives or fast melee has the simplest concept. throwing traps or explosives could be a ability that the rogue opens though

I think it'd be interesting if the rogue's attack also moved the character, either a dash or a spot dodge, and probably with I-frames would be the easiest to make work. Idk how viable that is really but it sounds neat
Rogue could be a damage over time based class that deals poison damage with throwing knives (similar to exterminator).
they just need to add a ton of boring base stat items to pad out drops to make the good stuff rarer honestly

gear is good. ,but the true winner for this game is the potions. being able to say save like swordsman weapon prof 3 range for next level. double weapon prof damage with potion and next level double the range weapon prof.

short range, linear (not cone based) stabbies that can stack speed and crit bonus. this can definitely work.
also would not hurt to have some physical DoT like bleed because right now there is only magical damage over time (burn/electric)
this game is so forgiving, he is doing well while ignoring a bunch of mechanics
yea it's a pretty easy game once you get some meta progression going.
@@xeoiii not really. he is trying like 5x harder than you need to. you can end up ignoring your main weapon and focus on even just one ability and destroy every mob on your screen instantly.
@@hackdotx4060it just needs more maps. The difficulty during the progression ramp up came from going to the next map. But once your builds have the bridge map on farm, then it caps out. We need more maps, and more difficult maps.

@douglasmurdoch7247 usually that's due to creating a comment on mobile devices. The autocorrect tends to add random apostrophes where they don't belong because it assumes crap. I have to remove them from time to time but if I'm not in the mood sometimes I won't bother fixing it.
