Zirakpur is a satellite town, in Mohali District, Punjab, neighboring Mohali, Chandigarh in India. It is set on the foothills of Shivalik hills. It is part of the tehsil Dera Bassi. It is the gateway to Chandigarh from Delhi. It comprises mainly the following areas near Chandigarh Airport including VIP Road, Dhakoli, Lohgarh, Bhabat, Bishanpura, Kishanpura, Nabha, Gazipur, Baltana, Singhpura, Peer Muchalla and Dyalpura. Mohali is actually better planned than Chandigarh because its newly developed. Also Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula together called Tricity
Na bro, Mohali lacks in public transport. Also there are not enough community centres and govt model schools in Mohali. In old Mohali you won't find slip roads on the interchanges. No cycle track, no footpaths and traffic rules ki baat nahi karo Mohali me. Services road bhi nhi hai old Mohali me.
I agree roads are wider in Mohali and zirakpur , also Mohali has modern shopping and dining experience and all MNCs and IT/ITes companies are only in Mohali . Chandigarh road iske saamne narrow lagte hai , aur ab wo khataara lagne laga hai .

Since I live here in Mohali. I can say Zirakpur is most unplanned city. The visuals are of aerocity, which is part of mohali city.

Need to clarify a few things, majority of the shots you showed are from mohali city. Zirakpur is in mohali district and itself does have a lot of infrastructure projects but is mostly unplanned(master plan was created later but there are not really any sectors). Whereas mohali, panchkula and new chandigarh(mullanpur) are planned and being developed completely in a planned way, all these cities are part of chandigarh tricity region including zirakpur. The wide road(with a lot of green space and expansion space) that you showed is in mohali which is the airport road and in the video it is passing through aerocity, mohali. IT companies that you showed are from IT city, mohali and sector 67 mohali

Many people still think Punjab just consists of Amritsar and Agriculture! Little less they know that services and manufacturing have a greater share of GDP in Punjab. And only 20 percent of Punjab is employed in agriculture. While all india average it is 50 percent.

Difficult. City is not in a good location. Trade is moving between the interior and the coasts. Bhatinda is a much better location for future western India trade corridors. Think Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway.

Moreover, all major cities will be connected with Delhi Katra expressway and Amritsar Jamnagar expressway. These highways are connected with expressways of Mohali - Sehna, Mohali - Ambala, Amritsar - Bathinda, Ludhiana - Bathinda and Ludhiana - Ropar expressways and all of these are acces controlled and linked to access controlled ring roads in the future. Punjab is receiving massive amounts in Road and Rail infrastructure

Roads and infra in zirakpur dera basai till armirport looks more modern spacious and beautiful, it is even better if compared to Gurugram or greater Noida infrastructure.

This is not because of recent governments. MOHALI was a brainchild of Akali dal 20 years ago. Congress and AAP accelerated the growth of Mohali with better incentives. All government worked together on this city.

zirakpur is the most unplanned city and irony is that its right next to chandigarh that most panned. Zirakpur doesnt even have a MC to build roads, all apartments are constructed on fields with CLU. mohali is an extension of Chandigarh and yes it has an amazing new IT city coming up, aero city is already doing really well and mohali is expanding like crazy
