    Yup... Jay and Randy are two of my "Classic Car Heroes!!" I attended Emerson College in Boston with Jay, and we both graduated in 1973, but we weren't friends. We'd pass one another in hallways, and did have one small class (of about 15 people) together, which was an Advanced Speech Class in our final semester. So, even though we weren't friends, I throughly enjoy viewing episodes of his "Jay Leno's Garage" series, and as a result, have been introduced to Randy and his shop of expert restorers..... Thank you Randy for not just restoring these magificent cars but, not making a J into an SJ or SSJ. The hard work you and your crew do will live forever.

    I don't usually run over the poor, but when I do, it's in a Duesenberg.

    This could've been 4 hours long and I'd still say it was too short. Very fascinating

    Very well produced show. And it was great having Randy Ema and Jay Leno as guests. And Jay was very generous in opening his garage up for the show and driving his Duesenberg automobile.

    Randy, this is so so incredible. I'm a big fan of the Duecenberg and I think the son made the right decision in trusting you with the history. I've seen several Duecenbergs and they outshine the rest in their beauty.

    In 1977 my mom bought me a tee shirt with a (At the time.) gawdy print of Clark Gables Duesenberg, I'd wear it in high school. Then a teacher, who was a car guy, told me where the old saying, "It's a Doozy!" came from.

    That Duesenberg coupe is in L.A. Noire, it's the fastest car in the game, that's how I first became aware of Duesenbergs and Cords and Auburns. There's something special about cars from the 30s and 40s.

    It's too bad that it took me 30 years to start to appreciate these beautiful cars. Prior to that, if it wasn't muscle car I didn't have time for it. Since then I have evolved. Especially old Delahaye's the old rolling art.

    Imagine the sheer worth of those original casting molds today. Like to be able to remake carburetors, Superchargers, etc to factory specifications is amazing. I wonder if someone’s supercharger cracks or breaks if he’ll ever reproduce a replacement for that circumstance

    Anyone know how to find the full episode of that Duesenberg restoration?

  • @Brera011
    @Brera011 11 років тому +1

    I wonder how a Duesenberg would have looked now, 100 years after the start of the company. Such a shame they, Auburn, Duesenberg and Packard didn't survive. Now we have to deal with Maybach (just a Mercedes with a higher price tag), Bugatti (VW), Bentley (VW) and so on. Original high class limousines are hard to find.

    I came to this site to see the cars. I did not come to listen to good-ol'-boys serenading each other as mambers of mutual-admiration society. Never-the-less, they are good-ol'-boys, as good as their cars, sure.

    Duesenberg may be coming back with repeited attempts from investors but I doubt it. The last great mark to attempt a revival was Cunningham and Mercedes quickly shut that down. :(

    Sadly, the value of these are just going to go lower n lower. The younger generation's want nothing to do w old cars that are as big as a limo and tough to drive.

    Barry Meguiar wastes time trying to be funny and flattering instead of adding knowledge to the conversation or just hearing Randy and Jay teach him a thing or two.
