Being 6'5" has its disadvantages though. I have a hard time finding clothes long enough, car ceilings are too low, most signs or chandeliers are hazards, and the spacing in between seats in planes, buses, and cars is far too small. You always have to slouch so you can easily develop back problems, and there is no such thing as lumbar support.
But it is nice to see over crowds, and people never mess with a guy my size.
Also, gaining some weight will not really show until you gain a lot which is in itself a disadvantage and an advantage at the same time.
Volvary youre right, working out it takes a lot longer to see the same amount of progress since you have to gain more muscle mass to be in proportion HOWEVER, even though it might take 1.5x longer being tall and ripped is insane

I love it. I'm more puzzled at why almost every other talk show has the same desk set up. I feel like it distances the host from the guests and makes a kind of fake formal impression.

Bo is such a comedic and poetic genius and exudes such an insane confidence when he's performing, but inside he's just a kindhearted goofy theater kid, and I would defend him with my life. I really hope he's doing well and that he's happy, since I know he's struggled/still struggles with depression.

My dad's 6'6", he doesn't. My grandad, at his peek, was 6'4". He didn't. I grew from 5'1"-5'8" in 7th grade, 5'10"-6'1" from middle of 8th to now (summer going into 10th), and I don't have them. There has to be something else going on there.
William Robinson Well just like height varies, skin type varies. Your skin and your ancestors skin may take stretching better than mine. Same thing with acne, you may have acne problems on your face and I don't. It's different for every person. I know my grandfather was 6'8" at his peak and he didn't have any. My other grandfather was 6'1" and he did.

I can relate to the stretch marks, when i first started getting them people thought somebody had whipped me in the back mulitple times (they're turn a deep purple brown, and look like huge scratch marks).

In what world do tall people actually get made fun of enough to develop a defense mechanism? "How's the weather up there?" is the closest thing I've heard to an insult. How hurtful.
Most of the height gain comes at puberty and this rapid change is hard for the body to adjust to, many tall people are generally awkward and uncoordinated around this time and its easy to become very self conscious.
Plus most things aren't designed with people that tall in mind. Must be frustrating for the cause of your teenage awkwardness to be reinforced as abnormal on a regular basis. Most of us get to grow up and realize the problems that made our teen years miserable were all too common.
Just because they aren't insulted because of it often doesn't mean they have no reason to be defensive. For example, women with larger chests tend to get remarks on their breasts all the time. Rarely are they negative but all of the unwanted attention makes them feel self conscious. I'd imagine it's the same with tall guys. Just because most people aren't going up to them going "you're so tall, what a freak." doesn't mean that they have no reason to be self conscious or develop defense mechanisms. Who is to say what life experiences constitute you as worthy of having developed a self conscious attitude toward any given physical attribute?
I wouldn't call it "hurtful" so much, but I work in a shop and not a day goes by when a customer doesn't ask me if I'm standing on a milk crate, or if I'm a footballer, or if I sleep with my feet in a pot of cow poop... it's just constant. It gets old, and I've been getting it for more than a decade now.
Chad Ozanich it just gets annoying as hell after so many years...and it's not funny or clever either. Especially since I'm a girl it's weird to me that people ask this. I don't know where this line came from but I hope it dies with the baby boomer generation because it's so annoying. Got so tiring.
