Hi there!!! You have done a great job by creating awareness about Achalasia. I was diagnosed @13. Done HM @16 but nothing improved in swallowing. Now I'm 22 my life just goes on with Achalasia 😞

Sorry to hear😔Have you considered the balloon procedure? I’m going to wait a couple of months before I consider having a 3rd balloon procedure. Since having the second procedure done, I’ve felt much better. Still eating very little, but staying hopeful!

@@EshleyAspinosa I know it can help a little bit but it's temporary. I can't have balloon dilation over and over again through my whole life. I'm in search for a cure. As I'm from India, we have other alternative treatments options other than allopathic medicines. If nothing helped then I have to consider going for dilation. Where u from?

Hi! Sorry to hear that you’re a part of this rare condition. I had the heller myotomy surgery. I’m still having a bit of trouble eating, but am definitely doing better; I just have to eat slowly. I recently started this vegetarian/vegan diet and do feel like that has helped a ton! I’m currently going through more testing. I do recommend looking into different GIs and getting different opinions before deciding what surgery and surgeon is best for you. I know that the POEM surgery is also available for some of us.

I have heard that POEM is the best new type of surgery (Even for those having failed myotomy surgery)
I'm having achalasia and thinking to go for POEM + Fundoplication.

Yes, I have heard that poem is the way to go. I wish I had undergone that surgery in the first place! 🙃 all is well though! Many balloon dilations later!

@@Wendy-gx6ls have you seen a gynecologist? I’d recommend researching for a good one in your area. I believe you should consider the POEM procedure
