Seems like a good time to throw you a compliment, Allen. I gotta give you major props for the channel, and the content. Been watching for a while, and everything you post is accurate and honest, and you have true humility about it. That's rare and refreshing. Truckers tend to be mostly bullshit artists, but you are quite the opposite. Well done, driver. Merry xmas, and I think next year is going to be fine. It'll get a little nutty around election time, but after that I'm hoping for drama free industry.
Thank you for this. I greatly appreciate it.
He learned it all from me

How about forming some kind of united front of Cargo haulers and start changing laws, like one I'm thinking is push for a law where there is a minimum pay that carriers, dispatchers can give, kind of like a minimum wage but exclusively for the trucking industry and it would have to be fair amount or something like this.
Form some kind of united movement to have more power over the ways things are handled mainly the pay, the bigger in numbers the bigger the voice and the more power.
Also make it illegal for anyone to accept loads under this minimum amount, like a 3 strikes your out law, 1st time a hefty fine, 2nd bigger fine and suspension 6 months - year from getting any loads anywhere and 3rd completely banned 100% for 10 years or even life.
There must be something people can do, start by uniting then take action, may not happen over night but we can start a movement and make it better for future generations at the very least!
I don’t know if I would go as far to say carriers dropping off is necessarily good for the industry. At best, I would say it’s better for competition. Multiple carriers folding up shop is just going to open the door for mega carriers and large outfits to buy everything out and play Monopoly. I don’t disagree that a lot of the carriers falling off shouldn’t be there anyways but as a whole, it’s going to take some time to flip back into a carriers market. Great video as always and happy holidays to you and yours buddy!
Always good info Mr.Allen ✌️
Much appreciated!
Just curious has van business picked up? I'm a truck driver, been thinking about buying a van to run local and get away from all the regulations.
You have to wonder how many new authorities were literally 1 man show like hotshot haulers vs actual semi companies. I bet that number dropping off weekly increases this year. I think a lot of people ran out and bought a trailer and a dually thinking they were going to make $150k a year and then found out how many hours a month you have to work on the road to make a lot less than that. Even some of the best UA-camr hotshot guys quit since 2022. Hotshot became no different than semi hauling. Too much competition which lowered prices to unlivable rates
That’s a interesting statistic, for a lot of people it takes one bad event like if your van takes a crap it puts a lot of people out of business
Very interesting for sure.
I was in the business as a driver/broker for 20 years. Recently, I left the business after a radiator died but also realized I've accomplished my goals I set coming in. Much like anything you can lose the love for what you do...
Plus, Allen made me laugh with "I haven't wanted the long ones in awhile"
KOA campground hiring free lot rent and 11 dollars an hour
🤣🤣🤣
Over 110k big trucks jobs lost since April of this year and still growing the industry has taken a major hit
Well that should provide a good source of used cargo vans (for lower cost) with a load of cargo tears and broken promises. This is the "filter" time.
I really don't want to see anyone fail in this biz.
If they take Big D’s seminars on expediting this wouldn’t happen
🤣🤣🤣 Sponsored by the union.
Damn straight
What metrics are you using when you say the economy is bad?
Can I ask, which’s factoring company better to get the payment in the same day or within 24 hour ?
@rafidiraq9682 most Factoring companies should be set up to pay within 24 hrs, aside from weekends or holidays.
@@EverythingApax OTR gave me offer pay within 24hrs non recourse payment, their percentage 4.20% , may be because of my new authority and only one truck. I never signed up still searching .What do you think? This is a high percentage?
@rafidiraq9682 very high. Call Truckstop. Tell any Factoring company you want 2.99 % or less.
@@EverythingApax I found offer with Bobtail factoring 2.99% , but when I carefully their agreement saying even with their approved brokers , shippers load payment recourses, in case if they don’t get pay after 30,60 days, but with OTR their agreement clearly says Non Recourses load payment through OTR approved broker shippers!!!
What do you think about this note, should be the agreement including Non Recourses?
Great video as usual. I always seem to learn something mew when i watch. I got my authority in 2021. Started out doing household goods and moves. Was using a 2500 truck and trailer. Got fed up with the DOT junk very quickly. Couldnt afford a sprinter class van so i went to a box van under 10001 and cut a hole through the wall. Been running it since but yeah have to be on the road a bunch to make good money. I still dont do general merchandise / cargo. Household goods and apartment moves are plentiful but very physical. DOT in Colorado told me since im one vehicle under 10001 i didnt need an authority to operate. Any knowledge of that?
I would assume only a small fraction of those companies are running expedited vans, I see countless 18 wheelers on the road but rarely see expedite vans
Absolutely!
@@EverythingApax have you ever considered driving an 18 wheeler or buying one to put a driver in? Why or why not?
Hey there Alan ..... 👍
Hello there!
Yeah they took the load you bid it on for .50 let him roll
Go home for Christmas come back out in February
I'm definitely going home for Christmas.
@@EverythingApaxright I'm thinking for u it would be difficult to stay home for a month or like a challenge
Just because a Carrier deactivates their authority doesn't mean that truck still isn't on the road.
I'm sure a lot of people realize it's better to run with a more established company .
Absolutely!
Does running for a more established company outweigh the 15-20% they take off top?
Everything Apex How bout them Cowboys! lol Stay Safe!!
😲🤣🤣🤣
when I drove for Panther we had to take a thirty every eight hours. it sucked
That would be rough.
No money on freight market not much u can do
You're honestly better off just driving somebody's van. Let someone else eat the high cost of insurance and maintenance after you pay insurance and fuel you're not going to make much more money being a fleet owner unless you have more than three vehicles
Panther requires downtime? Do their drivers have some form of ELD? Trucker here, just curious on the topic and enjoy watching your videos.
Panther self regulates their cargo van drivers. 15 hrs driving 5 hours down. Appreciate you checking out the channel.
Thats +0.36% (1500) to -0.11% (460)... significance of a rounding error.
Nobody forsedthem to go in debt on a promise and a dream
Let me ask this, because I'm always wanting to learn as I make my way into this industry slowly.
Are these carriers mainly expeditors/OTR companies? Or does this also include people who mainly do local contract work?
So does this mean that there may be more good used vans available on the market soon?
That is affirmative. 🧐
Thanks i need a camping van. @EverythingApax
With that many leaving, I wonder how many are starting up this day and age? Or does that figure a net loss?
Transportation industry is going through some stuff that's for sure. With giants like Yellow closing down and all the residual strageous caused by the pandemic.
That number is a net loss.
Slacker
🤣🤣🤣
Bite a fat 1
@@Chad-wk2pm kiss my arse ahole
Not you too just sitting in your van and talking. Please don't be like the Gig Geezer. That guy never get loads.he just like to talk.
I get loads!! Lol. Check out other videos I have footage of loading and unloading. I need a better mic to do videos while driving. Lol
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed.
How do the Transits do in the snow ? I got mine in the spring....most of the new people starting in 2021 and 2022 lost their jobs from Covid and like you said they got in without researching and just thought they'd buy a van or truck and hit paydirt. I dont know about 6 years but a few more years it will thin out and we wont have people accepting bids for peanuts and will squeeze out the brokers
I have a 2018 Ford Transit 350 with newer all season tires. She did pretty good when I hit some lake effect snow on my way to Buffalo a couple of weeks ago. I slowed down quite a bit but was able to get threw there no problem. I also might add I only had a 10 pound package.
@@davidseifert7372 thanks im in NJ but I go to Connecticut often and Mass occasionally so just trying to get an idea.....I'm getting 2 new tires this week what did you get
