Quick Update! With volume once you tap 4 times you can continue tapping to quickly increase or decrease. I was just doing it too slowly. Sony also advertise 8h of battery with ANC and 6h with LDAC. So this makes sense comparing to my battery tests. 👍
Can't forget to mention that when you use the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro with a Samsung Galaxy phone, you get to use the Samsung Scalable Bluetooth codec. It's about on par with AptX HD audio quality wise, but it can adjust the bitrate like AptX adaptive
@Riky4646 Samsung Seamless is the evolution of Samsung Scalable, but they serve the same purpose. Just depends on how old your devices are and whether they support the newer codec or not.
Just a quick edit, but on the Sony's you can tap 4 times to increase volumes then continue tapping for additional volume up. No need to pause and then tap 4 times.
@@pickyaudioPlease I'll love it if you can grant me a request by reviewing the TOZO A1 Mini Wireless Earbuds in comparison to the OnePlus buds Pro 2. Thank you.
One thing that most reviewers don't mention with the buds 2 pro is that you can customize the audio if you have a samsung device. They come with Dolby atmos, and you can tweak the eq settings. Also, you can set your hearing preferences according to your age. The Dolby does increase the volumen and clarity in a noticeable manner. I use it always on even with none samsung buds. You even get a testing hearing option to improve your sound preferences.
@Talliesyn I have devices that support both codecs, and while LDAC supports a higher data rate, I personally don't really hear the difference. One downfall of LDAC, at least for the device that I have, is that if enable you can't use multipoint connection and has a higher battery consumption for the earbuds, with samsungs implementation if you have other samsung devices than you can still use the seamless codec with more energy efficiency. Given this only works with the samsung ecosystem, which is also a con for the earbuds. I personally have the samsung ecosystem, so it works well for me, which is why if you don't really have multiple samsung devices, the buds 2 pro don't make much sense.
I don't think iphone users should be making reviews period. When there phones are usually the ones with outdated hardware lol but they are catching up haha I don't like apple
@@moisestheentrepreneur637You aren't alone. I love using my phone all day at work with Bluetooth earbuds and not need to charge my Note10+ but I always see people's iPhones on the charger lol iPhones newer than my 2019 Note10+ smh also. The first response I always get is "At least iPhones don't blow up in your pocket" please that was a one time thing with Samsung. Apples made enough dough on the lightning port so now its time to go usb-c 😂.
Thank you so much for this video I have been searching on UA-cam channels for the last month trying to figure out which ear bud has the best sound quality and I was so frustrated because I couldn’t make up my mind none of the videos I have seen and I have seen a lot of videos has details about the sound quality, how you put sound quality into three different categories and talked about them in depth was really really helpful, my wife wants to buy me a gift and she has asked me to tell her which ear bud I want, now finally I know which one it is, I wish you had posted that video a month ago. Lol again I really appreciate your video thank you so much
main issue with the scoring system is there are certain categories that are sooo much more important than others, should be weights on anc, sound quality, call quality, and comfort
Everyone has their own important categories. The final score thing isn't even worth bothering with, nor worrying about, just look at the categories you care about.
Couldn’t agree more. Sound quality should be heavily weighted because, if that’s not the priority , we obviously wouldn’t be looking at this price range. 75% of this review should be focused on SQ.
Nice comparison! Couple issues: I returned the XM5s because for my ear canals the tips simply did not seal well, even tried 3rd party tips. Bose has by far the best ANC of any I've tried. Comparison table is nice but it scores all the categories equally. I for example value noise cancelling far more than the case having wireless charging.
@pickyaudio Juat thought about that. If only you could publish an excel sheet with scores so we could sort through and pick. Kinda like your ANC ranking but with all the other attributes.
@@pickyaudio I think the punctuation is fine. It is true that not all categories should be worth the same, but it is the user who must value the item that matters most to them and add only those aspects. I personally value sound quality, ANC, comfort and controls more. Greetings.
The Samsung Buds also have the functionality to pause the music when they are not in the ears. So it is not only the Airpods. About the connectivity , for both the AirPods and Samsung, they have automatic rerouting of the connection when using their own ecosystems, which for me using the same brand tablet and smartphone is important. If I am watching UA-cam on the tablet and my phone rings, It is automatically rerouting the connection to the phone, for example. And you can't beat this with anything outside the ecosystems.
I've loved using the XM3 and now XM3 for some time now. Awesome noise cancelling and I love the sound quality. However with my iPhone I've started noticing quite a lot of connection issues (1 headphone disconnecting, reconnecting etc) and sometimes unusable microphone quality. And nowadays when I take even more and more work calls on my phone rather than my laptop, I guess it's time to move to the Airpods Pro 2.
I've had my Galaxy Bud Pro 2 since launch. They've been perfect. My only complaint is the soft touch coating on the bottom of the charging case is wearing off around the wireless charging ring. My older JBL Live Pro + earbuds have just as much use and yet the case still looks new.
I got Buds Pro 2 together with Fold 5. And these headphones are a total surprise for me. The way they fit in the ear. The sound quality, especially the bass, is great. I rarely completely disagree with someone's review, but this one sucks.
ig its preference, I also enjoy my pro 2 more than any earphone ive ever had. I got the pro 1's just on a whim at a tmobile store and since ive been hooked on samsung buds
If the sound quality is second to last among the reviewed categories, you know to take the review with a pinch of salt. Also, the fact that the earbuds with the most bass at 100% volume (which will, by the way, permanently damage your hearing) score the highest tells you something about how the sound quality was assessed. I agree with the harsh treble issue (though, again, you should never listen to buds 2 pro above 60% volume), but otherwise I can't imagine these buds being the last in sound quality given that Samsung owns Harman Kardon
I'm with you on the latest OP Buds Pro 2 firmware update. Sound seems to have changed. Using LHDC adaptive I often hear distortion in the highs like compression artifacts. Sounds like it might be dropping to a low bitrate connection, even when the phone is right next to me. This was not an issue before. I am using an older OP 8 pro phone with bluetooth 5.1, maybe its not an issue with newer 5.2, 5.3?
Did they fix this yet? The last time I used my OPBP2 I heard this distortion or clipping.. I thought maybe they got damaged after I dropped it. It's been a while since I've used it because I lost it on the bus. I will probably buy it again since I last saw it on sale for $99.. everything was perfect listening with those buds when I first got it. Well except for calls. I always got complaints that they can't hear me well.
Galaxy buds 2 pro vs op buds pro 2 which one is best in terms of fit & sound quality I'm using s23 ultra but op buds 2 pro but LHDC is not supported in S23U. AAC on oneplus gives better audio in s23u?
@@Leorgo This was completely resolved for me with an update on my OP 8 pro to Oxygen OS build 582(EX01). I had many exchanges with OP support and they eventually told me this OS update (not the buds firmware) would resolve it. I was very skeptical, so I was completely shocked that it did. I don't know how this would be resolved on non-OP devices.
Your evaluation is very detailed and complete, it helped me to make my purchase choice. Since you are using your finger during a demo. For aesthetics, I’d like to suggest cleaning your nails. Otherwise, your reviews are great.
I have XM4. Happy with those. Noise cancellation isn't next level but sound is clean. I have the samsung buds pro 2 as well. They are just better for movies due to spatial audio.
I owned 4 of the 6 earbuds and I agree that the XM5 ear tips are good but not the best. I have been using AirFoams Pro Universal ear tips and all that you mentioned with the combo of memory foam and silicone and mesh, it's great since like you said there's no mesh on the XM5. I like the AirPods Pro 2 better than the Buds 2 Pro though. XM5 is the best.
Sound volume and microphone of xm4 is not good, same as linkbud s have good microphone and sound but volume and ANC is low, Samsung buds pro2 have very good sound and ANC but not microphone, op buds 2 pro have good high volume sound with decent ANC and good microphone
Owned the XM5, Momentum and Buds 2 Pro. Tried the Airpods Pro 2. Honestly, its not even close, the Buds 2 Pro completely crush the other 3. It could be your settings on the Buds 2 Pro that might be an issue.
This is easily among the top best and most thorough reviews and comparisons I've watched on YT. And I watched quite a lot of them! You are minding all the important little details. The only thing missing from being a perfect comparison is sound samples. But I understand that you cannot make these without some special (and expensive) equipment. Overall, impressive work!
@@dadthelad that would be the smaller problem if you'd use your neutral/reference earphones and the recording was made properly. But even then the recording device would have to mimic the exact physical properties of your ear canals. So you're right, there's probably not much use in doing that.
The only reason I've steered clear of Apple for 20 years, is they STILL don't have an EQ option. I realize I'm probably in a small minority with this, but it's mind-boggling they haven't addressed this.
I wonder how you feel when you listen to music while using Apple. Do you feel uncomfortable at the time? I don't use Apple cell phones, and I feel uncomfortable with some factors that are different from you, but I'm satisfied enough because the part you mentioned is Apple. I'd be very grateful if you could answer.
You get loads of EQ options in Spotify, Apple music etc and you can adjust through the personalisation options. I use the ape airpods pro 2 with and Android phone.
@@AndrewUA-camhandle I've found secondary EQs aren't the same as having one on the actual source. For instance, I have the Sony XM5s, and they sound great with the built-in EQ (much better than Apple), but when I tried an external EQ on top of that, it actually made it worse. Maybe I'm just too picky, but ever since the ipod came out without a EQ, I've had a negative opinion of Apple products.
Wow new to your channel and you were not kidding about being picky, like that though .Never heard the Oneplus but have all the others in past and the Bose explanation was really spot on About it being in your Brain.Wonderful work. Thanks so much for sharing.✌️💯
At about 5:25: you are plain wrong (and that's just the one I own and know of): Galaxy Buds Pro 2 also has in-ear detection and pauses the music (not just the AirPods). Don't know about the others. Hope the rest of the review was more factual...
Need to include the Technics AZ80 in the rankings. I own it and just received the XM5 thinking Sony was still king but the Technics totally destroys it for sound quality. The Technics sound stage is amazing, as is the build quality. Also owns an AirPods Pro 2 and Galaxy Buds2 Pro, but the Technics is really the king of the hill for sound quality in this generation! And the case build quality is second to none either. And is the only one in the market with 3 device multipoint support, including maintaining LDAC while in multipoint.
I own the az80 and they absolutely don't fit with rock/metal bass heavy genres. Direct comparison with buds 2 pro they got shredded. With calm songs it works well but since real bass is lacking completely they don't give you such a big soundstage.
ANC is tricky depending on the activity. SONY handles wind noise very well. The airpods miss the bar a bit for me when cycling. They just aren't as good for that activity. Weirdly, the XM4s work better at noise reduction with wind than the XM5s... using the same eartips. I suspect firmware updates may help.
Hell yes. A reviewer on volume. Why don’t more reviewers add this to there reviews. Thank you sir. I found that Sennheiser doesn’t get that loud. I need loud sound lol.
After the first two categories, I came away so impressed that I actually tried to look for any elements that could be improved throughout the rest of the video. I couldn't find any.
I had the Sony XM5, but unfortunately, the right bud did not fit my right ear and I had to return them. The tip is supposed to go into your ear canal and the right one was too short for me. I went for the Bose QC II, a real pain to use with different devices but I will get used to all the maneuvering to stop one and connect to the other. At least I have a good seal with those.
unfortunetely some categories have not been tested properly. The airpods 2 pro for example perform really bad if there's any kind of wind with their microphone, whileas the xm5 do not struggle with that at all
I actually have used memory foam tips and greatly prefer them over silicone as silicone have always hurt my ears. Plus foam improves sound quality a lot and blocks out noise. I always buy them on Amazon with every new earbud purchase. I was so happy to find out these come with foam tips after my purchase of them, not having reviewed them prior to purchase. I was never big on any Sony brands and wouldn't give them a first thought,. But a Best Buy associate sold me on them after my huge disappointment with the QCE Ultra's that I returned due to extremely poor call quality. Now I'm ecstatic over the XM5's I bought.
Great review. The Sonys are a great all rounder. Though the Airpods pro 2 are my work horse (using on android phone and ipad). Also using Status Between ANC with great audio quality and long long battery life. And very comfortable. If you're using Spotify, Apple music... those have loads of EQ options that are worth using. And apple music sounds fantastic using the Airpods pro 2 on my Sony Xperia.
Galaxy budge 2 pro are amazing I use them everyday for hours on time The base is insane The sound quality is insane but I also use it with an s23 ultra 24-bit audio lostless audio they're dope

over the years tried many earphones jbl bose beats phillips and many others. none ever lasted for three years. around 3 years ago bought my first sony wf mx4 still using them now everyday 2 hours. not even once i had issue with them. from the way you talk it looks like you got paid by whatever one plus is but as i used many headphones and three years ago first sony. will never again buy anything different than sony. two weeks ago bough xg300 to replace tv speakers i was about to buy jbl but then i it came to me, but wf mx4 works so great so nope jbl it has to be sony. was it mistake ? nope another great buy. everything speakers always sony for me no matter how many times you will tell me to buy something else.
All I care about is sound quality and Grado GT220 with foam tips are several levels clear of everything I've ever tried from Sony , B&O and Sennheiser. The passive isolation is great too even on planes. In our house we have the Galaxy and Airpods pro and have to disagree , the Airpod pro 2 are hollow sounding and way behind the galaxy buds pro2 in every metric.
Why do you rating sound quality equal to the rest of them ? Is it not the most important thing on the ear bud ? Or a stronger rating on the category ? I don’t understand.
He use to say oneplus buds 2 were best of the best compared to the same list some months ago but now its 4th place. Pretty crazy to think just because of an update it became 4th place. They downgraded their buds or just could just be preference.
James, do you think that the Liberty 4 NC is very far of those listed in this video? I'm considering investing in top notch noise cancelling earbuds, but the price difference from the 4 NC to the Bose is massive.. Not shure if it would be worth it
Not too far behind. To say whether or not it's worth it is up to you. The only way to know is to try them for yourself and see if the differences are worth the extra money.
Thanks! You know the engine 4 get pretty close. trebble and mids better on XM5's. Sound stage about the same, bit more sub bass on the engine 4. XM5 better overall clarity though
You have to squeeze foam tips first, that makes it easier. It's not like silikon tips, which you can just put in

I’ve tested the JLab Epic Edition and the Sennheiser Momentum 4, both of which deliver excellent sound quality. However, I’m looking for something different. My goal is to find headphones that truly stand out for their powerful and intense sound. I want an experience that feels like being at a live concert, where the volume and impact are so immersive that they might even feel slightly overwhelming (without sacrificing quality, of course). While the Epic Edition and Momentum 4 have clear and well-balanced audio, I find their maximum volume somewhat limited. Because of this, I returned both. I’m now considering trying the Bose QuietComfort Ultra and the Sony WH-1000XM5. What headphones would you recommend for someone looking for an immersive audio experience with extreme volume and a live music feel? I’d appreciate any suggestions to help narrow down my search and find the perfect match.
I'm going for the XM5. I've been through jabra 65t and 75t, akg n400nc for TWS. Some say that the akg n400nc is on the upper end purely sound quality wise, though I need to see how the XM5 does.
Really useful review thanks! Wanting to upgrade from the Jabra 65t you've helped me avoid 1000xm5 since the lack of controls is a deal breaker if even old Jabras do it better!
Price determines a lot. In my region sony 260€, senn 180€, sams 95€, one+ 60€. I also have twc2 for a year and left earbud is no longer working. Therefore, the quality of the product is also important.. and there is another 150€ option - final ze3000. Is it worth considering?
I haven't tried the sonys yet, but last year I purchased the Apple earbuds pro 2. gen. to match my iPhone 14 pro. I am using my bicycle a lot rising the 15 km to the nearest big city and in fact everywhere I go. I needed wireless earphone that can filter the wind noise away and I listened, unfortunately, to people like you here on UA-cam. There was nothing I could do in settings to avoid the roaring of the wind, not even on a day with no wind at all cause when you bike, there's always wind resistance. I immediately went back to my Jabra Elite 7 Pro, back to ANC that actually works. I have the Samsung Galaxy 2 pro too. They are even worse than the Airpod pros. I highly recommend the Jabra Elite 7 Pro. They were on sale when I bought them for 160$ 2 years ago. They come with an app and are also much easier to control with clicks rather then touch, which is a pain on especially Samsung earbuds 2 pro. When you active this function and put them in your ears, all kinds of settings activate as soon as you touch them, which you naturally do, when inserting them into ears.
just to add, Samsung has a dedicated software to control every single detail of sond EQ, conectivity, sond split my point is, me as an audio engineer love this software and wouldn't use the in app eq edit btw, the best sond profile is the Galaxy buds, maybe not the best in another categories but the best sound AT THE MOMENT
This was by far the best earbuds comparison for a layman like myself. I bought Sony X5 and you’re dead right on the comfort (not great at all vs AirPods Pro). I am a bit let down by the ANC on Sony’s though - there’s almost no difference with ANC on or off. It seems like in the XM5 the 95% of noise cancelling is passive, down to the earbuds being tightly snug deep into the ear canal. So when you turn it on, there’s almost nothing else to cancel out anymore. In comparison, on AirPods the ANC mode on / off difference is MASSIVE. However, the XM5 has the sleek looks, both the case and the buds. Can’t have all, dang it.
I just bought the XM5 & I'm not impressed. If Sony's ANC ranks a 3, I don't even want to mess with anything else lower. Bose's ANC is awesome, and I think they are way more comfortable than Sony's. But I had a lot of issues with them not connecting/staying connected. Or only one earbud would connect.
Hey there, Really love your detailed comparison. I've been following your content for a few weeks now. I'm in a bit of a fickle here to make a pick between Jabra Elite 7 pro, Oneplus Buds Pro 2 & JBL Live pro 2. Can you please suggest to me the best one for good sound balance and call quality? Love you mate. Cheers.
🤝@@pickyaudio Nah, thanks to you brother. I will give the Oneplus Buds Pro 2 a try, given that I have tried JBL tune 230 NC before(not that I'm comparing it with the Live pro 2).
@@pickyaudio just received my Buds pro 2 this morning. And the difference between the Jabra elite 7 pro & the OnePlus buds pro 2 is night and day. The Elite 7 pro was missing the crisp sound while also lacking the volume. Buds pro 2 sounded just right out perfect, a bit more clearer than my JBL 230 NC ( while I love the fit of JBL ). The best part is I got these for 110 euros on Cdiscount. I am so glad I came across your videos. Made my choice much easier thanks to you brother.
Hey I have had AirPods Pro 2, Sony xm5, linkbuds s, Beats Studio b+, galaxy buds fe and for me the best anc and sound is on the Sony xm5 but fit and a weird rumble just ruins everything else, at this point in time I would say that the galaxy buds fe are the best overall for less money but I currently use the beats, they just sound excellent battery is great sound anc and ambient sound, plus nice fit and microphones I love them and I recommend them for iOS or android but they tend to work more fluently on iOS (beats is owned by apple). If you are on a budget go for the galaxy buds fe and if you have a Samsung phone you will love Galaxy buds fe even more.
thanx for vid! interesting to watch, very good job! have a question - choosing between these xm5 and 1+ - which could you recommend? (looking for high volume, sound quality and bass) thanks in advance for your answer!
@@pickyaudio Thanks Pick. The bass is definitely more boosted in noise cancellation mode. Understood. They’re still up there though. Good looking out. Love your videos 👍🏽
The buds 2 pro are a no-brainer for galaxy users. Especially for ppl living in samsung dominting countrys since samsung gifted those buds to everyone pre ordering the flagship phones and then half of them selling them on retail for ober 50% off. I had the xm4, now Technics EAH AZ80 and buds 2 pro and the absurdly cheap buds 2 pro killing those xm4 and other flagships. 300 bucks is to mich for bt in ear headphones. I taught about buying the xm5 because the xm4 just didn't fit well but after the buds 2 pro i know how it can work in different ways
Actual it's a bad idea is to buy Samsung flagship phones for the full price. They are losing their value so quick! In 6 months price is dropping to 70% already.
XM5 left me wanting more in the bass department. Weak volume too. The Galaxy buds are the winner for me. Especially if you have a Samsung phone and turn on the 360 found. Super loud and clear with tons of bass.
Is the difference between the Bose and the AirPods massive? I got the Bose but am considering returning them for AirPods Pro 2 as I have iPhone and iPad as main devices.
Hey Picky- I've recently acquired Galaxy buds 2 pro to my (increasingly expensive) collection and have been told that they work best with a Samsung device, which I have (Note 20 Ultra). However I find that I get more volume with the GBP2 and my LP3 on my Xiaomi 11t phone. In all of your testing have you experienced volume deviation over a range of phone brands?
Yea sound quality, volume and latency can also slightly differ phone to phone. My galaxy buds 2 pro sound a bit better on my galaxy s10e compared to my iPhone 12 Pro. Probably due to the Samsung scalable codec. So many factors
That's because Note 20 Ultra uses old Bluetooth 5.0 while 11T uses 5.2 and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are working on 5.3, also with Samsung devices you get Samsung scalable codec and "24 bit audio"
So looking at that table the best buds are really which feature is most important to you. For me the call quality is non negotiable for an everyday use bud so I will stick with the AirPods with my iPhone.
I think the Galaxy buds don't have the EQ control in the app because you have advanced EQ control in the phones' settings and my Note8 remembers the settings for each earphones. I like their sound features. For my Sennheiser ie80 I enable the "tube amp bro" because it gives pleasing depth to music, and for my Bluetooth speakers I have the Dolby atom enabled because it brings clarity to speech. So it isn't fair to say that the Galaxy bud don't have EQ.
Regarding the OnePlus buds pro 2 i also read on reddit and in OnePlus community app that the sound quality has dropped after that firmware update. Do you think it's something that can be fixed through its own EQ? I have ordered mine and im not sure i wanna update after these posts im seeing. Thanks.
@@pickyaudioHave you tried a factory reset? Press the button on the case for 10 seconds, tell me if I change the sound, or recommend that I buy them and not install the application
Sennheiser TW3 user here: with the right kind of phone, the TWS3 produce way better sound then all other earbuds covered here (I've tested them all except the WF-1000XM5). On Samsung phones, you can set up the volume in really small steps to go where you want to. Also, you can set up the dynamic range based on your age, which gives more of the frequencies your ears need - with Dolby Atmos set to off, Sennheiser TWS3 are truly a concert hall. EDIT: I've just tried Tidal today, after you try it once, you will never use Spotify again. In a combination with the TWS3, the acustics in the concert hall just got allot better!
I love the quality of music on 5, I agree spot on about the eartips. They are mad uncomfortable! They constantly feel like they are too heavy compared to my other buds. Buds2Pro. I really want to love them but I can never wear for long from the discomfort. Feels like I got ripped off a bit.
Awesome review bro wow that's a tough ranking bro. But for me just focusing on sound quality, comfort and battery life coz that's what buds we want when we buy coz a lot of buds now has ANC or Transparency features so the most important is how they sound comfortable and good battery life.
In this league of earbuds, EQs should be no less than 5-7 bands. Anything less is archaic and needs updating (Bose). Cool comparison review and looking forward to more of these!!
I bought the Momentum's because of the sound quality a couple of years ago - but - the noise cancelling just never really worked for me (I should of sent them back under warranty I guess) so I kept it switched off - I've just bought the MX5's (on sale £159) and yes I agree they are slightly better sound quality - the noise cancelling is amazing - just been for a walk with them with my hood up and no noise from that and no wind noise so for me much better than the momentum's - I did want to get the Momentum 4's but because of the noise cancelling on the 3's I didn't bother, and I also have a Sony phone (xperia 1 III) and listen mostly to CD's ripped to flac, I've also got the the WH-1000XM4 over the ear headphones this influenced me getting the MX5's - BTW the case is so much smaller than the momentums it's very easy to get in your pocket... a really good picky review which coincides with my findings re the XM5 and the momentums!!! thanks for your time...
Great review! Your call quality test really highlighted how the Airpods Pro 2 outperformed the others. If call quality were my #1, that would have sold me. But ANC and sound quality are my number one. I have MX4 and Airpods Pro 1. Airpods have vastly superior call quality and controls, but MX4 have vastly superior ANC and sound. Trying to decide if I should get MX5 or Pro 2.
@@NghiaNguyen-bb7yq I found deals on both, and I got both. I find myself using the Airpods Pro 2 more. They're just so much easier to get in and out, and the "handles" make them easier to "refit" if they feel lose. The Sony have better ANC but not by much. Sound qualitywise, they're both amazing. I like Sony's equalizer though. Airpods are now much easier to adjust the volume, but the play/pause and activate ANC controls are much worse. I prefer the old Airpods Pro controls without the volume feature. I like Sony controls better now.
What phone was used to perform your tests? I've always wondered if e.g the Samsung buds sound/perform better when used with a Samsung phone vs when used with e.g a different Android phone or an iPhone. Basically, I still struggle to find a set if buds that have excellent mic quality. I'd consider the Samsung Buds2 Pro if they're fine-tunned to work with Galaxy phones (as I assume Apple pods are fine-tuned to work with iPhone).
Nice review as always , bro help me i need to buy a ear buds around 150 us and i didn’t found something worth it So which is the best for anc , comfort, and sound quality ( oneplus pro2 , nothing ear 2) or something else ? Sorry for spelling 😅❤
One small correction that ultimately does have a big impact. The AirPods Pro 2s have an IPX rating of IP54 for both the buds and case. Might’ve been a typo when you’re writing the script, or maybe the original AirPods Pro IPX rating. Either way, that would probably bump up the AirPods to 1-2 on the IPX rating section, which would make it first or tied for first overall. Edit: also, dang, the AirPods really got screwed over by their lack of personalization or an actual app. If you’re in the Apple ecosystem it’s really good, but if you’re not then it’s the absolute worst.
@picky audio. Do Bose earbuds have a budging problem during workouts? In other words, do we need to push the earbud into the ear canal to keep them in place while we are working?
Sony has to find a solution to that battery drain issues first. I was disappointed to see that drain issue after the 1.5 year usage of my 1000XM4. Such a shame for a premium earbuds like this.
Hiii ❤, I'm one of big subscriber. I'm truly a bass guys and i don't care much about other features. From your experience, what is the most deep bass earbuds present at the moment
He, thank you for a really goed testing. I bought the Sennheiser 3. Why, because I'm only interesting in a good sound quality. This earbuds are great, WHEN THY GOOD WORKING! The connectivity is often very bad. a hussel to make them work again. After contact with Sennheiser, I got 3 unregulated updates and thy worked fine for a few month. Now, the left earbud has less sound then the right one. After contakt with my retailer, I got my full money back. Now I gonna bye the Momentum 2 again. Thy simpler, but the do work even after years. I had them before and the "old" one, I gave to my son who is still using them with no problems. So. Not everything what is looking better, is always also better. Have a good time. I got the Sony M4 and I didn't like it cause it was too quite for me no matter how much I played with the EQ. So I bought the Bose QC II, I wonder what' the best earsbuds that sound loud and with sound experience? Thanks! Great video!
Great Video!! I just bought the momentum 3 for 150$ US and I love the sound quality and noise cancellation. I just worry about the longevity of them with all the reviews I read. I can’t decide if I want to return these and get some airpod pro 2 or something else.
I have the MTW 2. Been using them for 3 yrs now and they still are amazing. I'll probably upgrade to MTW 3 soon so you should be good to go with them in terms or longevity.
This comes off very Apple Fanboy-ish. This is all opinion of course but most audio based reviewers typically don't put AirPods that far up the list in most of those categories. Having tried most of these products the AirPods are not even in my top 5 in some categories the 10 ten. I think there are many reviews to back up my statements.
The AirPods Pro are super uncomfortable for me but the AirPods 2 fit incredibly well, taking that into account would the one plus buds pro 2 be comfy? Thank you
I am no apple fan, but come on.... best call mic audio, top comfort (lightweight/not noticable on the ears, able to laydown the ears/head on a pillow without pain), decent sound for music and voice calls, ANC equiparable to the top compeition, similar batterylife and charging capabilities as competition, the smallest case, the best touch controls... I ditched the Apple environment 10 years ago but am really considering buying the AP2 to use on an android...
Thanks for the detailed head to head comparison! I think you are more than a bit biased towards the airpods for some reason (they wouldn't even make my top 6 list). That's not to say they are bad, just that to me they are unremarkable and not as comfortable almost any other option. I'd probaly have a Jabra offering in your list in thier place. But if I punt the Air Pods from your review this was really usefull! Thanks!
It really isn't. He does a rough feature comparison and then throws in a TON of subjective measurements without any justifications. Where are the ANC attenuation graphs? The frequency response? This channel reeks of hidden sponsorships.
Quick Update! With volume once you tap 4 times you can continue tapping to quickly increase or decrease. I was just doing it too slowly. Sony also advertise 8h of battery with ANC and 6h with LDAC. So this makes sense comparing to my battery tests. 👍
Can you make a review about the Realme Buds Air 5 Pro who just came out.
The Sonys also pause music when you remove them from ears.
Can you try out oppo enco x2 and compare with the rest?
Can't forget to mention that when you use the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro with a Samsung Galaxy phone, you get to use the Samsung Scalable Bluetooth codec. It's about on par with AptX HD audio quality wise, but it can adjust the bitrate like AptX adaptive
It's actually Samsung Seamless Codec and it's capable of 24bit audio
@Riky4646 Samsung Seamless is the evolution of Samsung Scalable, but they serve the same purpose. Just depends on how old your devices are and whether they support the newer codec or not.
Just a quick edit, but on the Sony's you can tap 4 times to increase volumes then continue tapping for additional volume up. No need to pause and then tap 4 times.
You're right! I tried that but I was tapping too slowly, thanks.
@@mithrandir4146you can do that with the galaxy buds 2 pro
@@pickyaudioPlease I'll love it if you can grant me a request by reviewing the TOZO A1 Mini Wireless Earbuds in comparison to the OnePlus buds Pro 2. Thank you.
Still a s*** control scheme. Sony app is trash.
🤓👆
One thing that most reviewers don't mention with the buds 2 pro is that you can customize the audio if you have a samsung device. They come with Dolby atmos, and you can tweak the eq settings. Also, you can set your hearing preferences according to your age. The Dolby does increase the volumen and clarity in a noticeable manner. I use it always on even with none samsung buds. You even get a testing hearing option to improve your sound preferences.
Yeah but buds 2 pro use seamless and e.g. sony uses ldac. Isn't ldac better codec of those 2 anyway? Doesn't tweaking work with any output?
I haven't seen the video yet, but I guess he doesn't talk about the 360 audio too.
Lol again I really appreciate your video thank you so much
Glad I could help! If only the XM5’s came out in Aus earlier 😂
main issue with the scoring system is there are certain categories that are sooo much more important than others, should be weights on anc, sound quality, call quality, and comfort
apple user detected =D
Everyone has their own important categories. The final score thing isn't even worth bothering with, nor worrying about, just look at the categories you care about.
@@lok6314 In what way does his comment favour Apple? Are you mentally challenged?
Came here to say this. This ranking makes no sense.
Thanks! I'm yet to master the scoring system haha
@pickyaudio Juat thought about that. If only you could publish an excel sheet with scores so we could sort through and pick. Kinda like your ANC ranking but with all the other attributes.
They now offer a model with wireless charging
@@hvguy there is a silicon sleeve case that adds wireless charging for the Ultra. Works well, but an additional cost.
Make sure you upgrade the software to the 2.0.1
I've had my Galaxy Bud Pro 2 since launch.

That guy has to use samsung phone with buds 2pro .. literally 🔥 output
Bud2 Pro is the best ❤
If the sound quality is second to last among the reviewed categories, you know to take the review with a pinch of salt. Also, the fact that the earbuds with the most bass at 100% volume (which will, by the way, permanently damage your hearing) score the highest tells you something about how the sound quality was assessed. I agree with the harsh treble issue (though, again, you should never listen to buds 2 pro above 60% volume), but otherwise I can't imagine these buds being the last in sound quality given that Samsung owns Harman Kardon
@@mannb1023 I have the pro 1, and I consider upgrading to the pro 2 for my new s23 ultra. Do you think it's a good purchase ?
I'm with you on the latest OP Buds Pro 2 firmware update. Sound seems to have changed. Using LHDC adaptive I often hear distortion in the highs like compression artifacts. Sounds like it might be dropping to a low bitrate connection, even when the phone is right next to me. This was not an issue before. I am using an older OP 8 pro phone with bluetooth 5.1, maybe its not an issue with newer 5.2, 5.3?
I had the same issue on my nothing phone 1 using lhdc. Hopefully there's a fix soon
Galaxy buds 2 pro vs op buds pro 2 which one is best in terms of fit & sound quality

Thanks I really appreciate it!
Yeah, and then the sound is altered by whatever speakers/headphones anyone is listening to this vid with.
@@dadthelad that would be the smaller problem if you'd use your neutral/reference earphones and the recording was made properly. But even then the recording device would have to mimic the exact physical properties of your ear canals. So you're right, there's probably not much use in doing that.
Dude has a ponytail and would go with apple even with no sound lmao
The only reason I've steered clear of Apple for 20 years, is they STILL don't have an EQ option. I realize I'm probably in a small minority with this, but it's mind-boggling they haven't addressed this.
It still drives my slightly insane 🙃

I wonder how you feel when you listen to music while using Apple. Do you feel uncomfortable at the time? I don't use Apple cell phones, and I feel uncomfortable with some factors that are different from you, but I'm satisfied enough because the part you mentioned is Apple. I'd be very grateful if you could answer.
You get loads of EQ options in Spotify, Apple music etc and you can adjust through the personalisation options.
I use the ape airpods pro 2 with and Android phone.
@@AndrewUA-camhandle
I've found secondary EQs aren't the same as having one on the actual source.
Really wish apple would offer the AirPods Pro in other colorways, black specifically
At about 5:25: you are plain wrong (and that's just the one I own and know of): Galaxy Buds Pro 2 also has in-ear detection and pauses the music (not just the AirPods). Don't know about the others. Hope the rest of the review was more factual...
I agree
The thing is that airpods use skin detection and the others something like an infrared sensor (same purpose but more reliable on the airpods)
100% agree with u. Az80 are fantastic
I own the az80 and they absolutely don't fit with rock/metal bass heavy genres. Direct comparison with buds 2 pro they got shredded. With calm songs it works well but since real bass is lacking completely they don't give you such a big soundstage.
Never that simple the choice of buds depends on what you listen to. Sony is likely still best for everything with bass in it, rock, metal, hiphop etc
@@daidalos1508 Right out of the box they come neutral, but have you tried equalizing for bass heavy preference? It changed it completely.
@Gustavo_St I actually changed my mind completely and they are truly the best. But they don't really react on custom eq even with legacy mode on
ANC is tricky depending on the activity. SONY handles wind noise very well. The airpods miss the bar a bit for me when cycling. They just aren't as good for that activity. Weirdly, the XM4s work better at noise reduction with wind than the XM5s... using the same eartips. I suspect firmware updates may help.
I really like, really really like the way you compare them. Very easy to watch and understand.

@@pickyaudio which would you say are better than these?
I have the XM3, XM4 and XM5. I prefer the XM4.
After the first two categories, I came away so impressed that I actually tried to look for any elements that could be improved throughout the rest of the video. I couldn't find any.
Thank you!
11:27 why no pixel buds? Not good enough to be in the ranking?

Oneplus should have the higher volume or what?
The new firmware changes sound quality not the volume

To clarify to your viewers.. the XM5 have 8+ hours of charge with noise canceling and 24 hours with the case, the same as the XM4's.
Or only one earbud would connect.

this is actually a great review. did not expect it to be that good. would love to see an update containing huawei freebuds 2/3
Great video! Wish you could have included the TOZO Golden X1’s. I would have loved to see how the X1’s stacked up. Thanks for your videos.
Thanks! I do have them but I wasn't too impressed with the EQ shift
@@pickyaudio Thanks Pick. The bass is definitely more boosted in noise cancellation mode. Understood. They’re still up there though. Good looking out. Love your videos 👍🏽
Is that kenneth I spy? 👀 Great videos mate! Keep up the good work!
A wild Kenn has appeared! Thanks 😊
Spinfit tips are a game changer for the Sony's
XM5 left me wanting more in the bass department. Weak volume too. The Galaxy buds are the winner for me. Especially if you have a Samsung phone and turn on the 360 found. Super loud and clear with tons of bass.
i feel like those foam tips in the winter will get really hard XD
Is the difference between the Bose and the AirPods massive? I got the Bose but am considering returning them for AirPods Pro 2 as I have iPhone and iPad as main devices.
ANC difference pretty minimal. Airpods sounds like the better option
Are you gonna review the soundpeats air4 and air4 lite?
Yep I just need to edit the video
Thanks.
I don’t recommend updating them. You can fix it a bit with the EQ but I couldn’t get it back to what it sounded like
This is bad, considering my past experience with OnePlus i don't think they will fix this any time soon without this issue gaining some popularity.
@@pickyaudioHave you tried a factory reset? Press the button on the case for 10 seconds, tell me if I change the sound, or recommend that I buy them and not install the application
@@pickyaudio Have they already fixed that?
Great video! Do you have a recommendation for ANC that still allows you to hear voices you are in conversation?
Nice!
Hard to use Tidal when they have like 10% of the songs that spotify has if that. Even less compared to youtube.
Thanks man! Yea I wasn't expecting oneplus to win honestly
In this league of earbuds, EQs should be no less than 5-7 bands. Anything less is archaic and needs updating (Bose). Cool comparison review and looking forward to more of these!!
Fair call, thank you 😀😀
I bought the Momentum's because of the sound quality a couple of years ago - but - the noise cancelling just never really worked for me (I should of sent them back under warranty I guess) so I kept it switched off - I've just bought the MX5's (on sale £159) and yes I agree they are slightly better sound quality - the noise cancelling is amazing - just been for a walk with them with my hood up and no noise from that and no wind noise so for me much better than the momentum's - I did want to get the Momentum 4's but because of the noise cancelling on the 3's I didn't bother, and I also have a Sony phone (xperia 1 III) and listen mostly to CD's ripped to flac, I've also got the the WH-1000XM4 over the ear headphones this influenced me getting the MX5's - BTW the case is so much smaller than the momentums it's very easy to get in your pocket... a really good picky review which coincides with my findings re the XM5 and the momentums!!! thanks for your time...
Which did you end up going with?
@@NghiaNguyen-bb7yq I found deals on both, and I got both. I find myself using the Airpods Pro 2 more. They're just so much easier to get in and out, and the "handles" make them easier to "refit" if they feel lose. The Sony have better ANC but not by much. Sound qualitywise, they're both amazing. I like Sony's equalizer though. Airpods are now much easier to adjust the volume, but the play/pause and activate ANC controls are much worse. I prefer the old Airpods Pro controls without the volume feature. I like Sony controls better now.
For Apple Ecosystem go for pro 2 and for others just go for xm5.. XM5 is the best one
just an awesome video... thaks. Have you ever tried JBL Tour Pro 2?
What phone was used to perform your tests? I've always wondered if e.g the Samsung buds sound/perform better when used with a Samsung phone vs when used with e.g a different Android phone or an iPhone. Basically, I still struggle to find a set if buds that have excellent mic quality. I'd consider the Samsung Buds2 Pro if they're fine-tunned to work with Galaxy phones (as I assume Apple pods are fine-tuned to work with iPhone).
Nice review as always , bro help me i need to buy a ear buds around 150 us and i didn’t found something worth it
So which is the best for anc , comfort, and sound quality ( oneplus pro2 , nothing ear 2) or something else ?
Sorry for spelling 😅❤
Nothing Ear 2 sounds like the better option
@picky audio.
Do Bose earbuds have a budging problem during workouts? In other words, do we need to push the earbud into the ear canal to keep them in place while we are working?
One of the best review I saw on UA-cam, you are really ranking all earphones in all categories.
This is the best review I have seen on YT. Thank you, this has helped me take a decision.
One plus buds pro 2 or sennheiser momentum 3 once you EQ them. Just don’t update the one plus buds
@@pickyaudio Thankyou sooo much bro, wish you luck for your future work 🔥💞
He, thank you for a really goed testing.
Gr.John from Rotterdam Holland.
Is there a link for the silicone tips? I'm having a hard time finding a set with a filter.
I got the Sony M4 and I didn't like it cause it was too quite for me no matter how much I played with the EQ.
So I bought the Bose QC II, I wonder what' the best earsbuds that sound loud and with sound experience?
Thanks!
Great video!
Agreed and even when you increase the volume on the xm4 the bass is reduced and its not so loud even at max vol
Thanks! Momentum 3 are the best at loud volumes but the bose QC 2 come pretty close
Great Video!! I just bought the momentum 3 for 150$ US and I love the sound quality and noise cancellation. I just worry about the longevity of them with all the reviews I read. I can’t decide if I want to return these and get some airpod pro 2 or something else.
I guess I’m deciding between momentum 3, one plus pro 2, airpod pro 2
I have the MTW 2. Been using them for 3 yrs now and they still are amazing. I'll probably upgrade to MTW 3 soon so you should be good to go with them in terms or longevity.
This comes off very Apple Fanboy-ish. This is all opinion of course but most audio based reviewers typically don't put AirPods that far up the list in most of those categories. Having tried most of these products the AirPods are not even in my top 5 in some categories the 10 ten. I think there are many reviews to back up my statements.
They are not the best but out of these 6 i could very much believe they were placed third.
The AirPods Pro are super uncomfortable for me but the AirPods 2 fit incredibly well, taking that into account would the one plus buds pro 2 be comfy? Thank you
Best details n indepth reviews. Thanks!
Thanks!
This is probably the most in-depth review channel for wireless earbuds. Great job!
Thanks! I really appreciate it 😊
It really isn't. He does a rough feature comparison and then throws in a TON of subjective measurements without any justifications. Where are the ANC attenuation graphs? The frequency response? This channel reeks of hidden sponsorships.
