Our friend Joao Pedro invited us to go fly with him in the mountains near us and it was awesome to get back to thermal flying after so long flying at the beach.
I've definitely missed having enough space and height to fly around in every direction, 360, and listening to that beautiful vario go beep beep :)
All in all a great afternoon soaring and thermaling around and Gemma got her first taste of evening mountain flying too :) Awesome

As a relatively new pilot myself, I love seeing Gemma’s micro wins. Everyone goes at their own pace and I respect her respect for the sport.
One of your best videos. Great content. Beautiful scenery. Love the dogs, too.
Thanks! I was really tempted to make the dog's shot slow motion :D
Lovely flight!! That top landing was done like a BOSS!! Glad to see Gemma got up and made good choices! This sport is make or break on good decisions....
Excellent music
Nice flights, beautiful day.
que bacana voces voando fora da praia, é uma outra realidade, outras preocupações e um voo bem mais desafiador... bela imagens!! parabens
All that beach soaring has made you guys soft hehe! Entertaining as always!!
Good stuff guys..........looked like a nice place to fly!
That looks fun!
back to reality finally something real.... congrats
I can't wait to free fly again. I'm considering trespassing and launching from a 300 foot Mesa near town just to scratch the itch.
Great video guys! I wish I could get my Mrs into flying :D
@richard dixon Is that your real name? Cause that comment is hilarious if it is.
I think I've done a little influence on this video :P, well done you both!
ahah, yes and at the same time it was pure luck that our friend invited us. Thanks Guilherme :D
everything that usually happens when you go from beach flying with more wind to inland flying with less wind happenend
Electrical wires 🤣...Powerlines Gemma! 🚀
nice to see gemma in action again.... keep trying
Hey. Any interviews/videos from Coupe Ikare soon? I saw a photo of the new Flymaster vario. Two screens! Insane!
No, we're not covering it this year but there will be loads of people filming it for sure. I'm curious too :)

do those windmills cause any turbulence over at the flying site? I'd imagine they generate some meaningful vortices
Not really, two or three diameters downwind there isn't that much turbulence apparently. I've seen a video once of a proper research body flying a paraglider into the back of wind turbines with an acro pilot at the seat to see what happens and basically nothing happens unless you're really really close, like 1 or two diameters behind it. I couldn't find the video, but here's something else. ua-cam.com/video/9Ol_Izc-zbE/v-deo.html
It’s in German, but you’ll get the idea
