- In news just in, a group of protesters in Kenya have stormed the country's parliament.
They are up in arms over the newly proposed finance bill.
The East African country has been facing massive protests since they sought to introduced the measures.
SABC News Reporter Khayelihle Khumalo joins us in studio.

This interview is a clear example of when someone speaks about things when they are out of context. The main issue is the mismanagement of funds/taxes. Gen Z have no problem with taxes the issue is mismanagement of the taxes. Ruto has refused to listen and is mocking the gen z and the kenyans at large. He know we are broke and have a debt to pay yet he is misusing the taxes on useless things and discregards the people.
But we are also against overtaxation which is becoming untenable and unsustainable for the citizenry.

SABC your take is extremely biased, Kenya is very rich. the political class is living lavishly, adding unconstitutional offices and weekly there are scandals of looting in the billions. we are not paying a single extra tax until this government becomes accountable and starts fulfilling even one of the promises they made in 2022

The problem is that he has shown that he does not care for the views of Kenyans in last year's law amendments. People utilized the judicial system to stop the housing levy, setting mandatory levies for even the unemployed in the name of health. He eventually used the legislative system to pass laws that favoured his agenda. So this time round people have taken to the streets

The analyst knows nothing about the finance bill. The real problem is that the Ruto administration has hiked taxes while maintaining high budgetary appropriations to non-constitutional offices and useless initiatives. Also, his allies and himself continue to splurge opulence as other Kenyans struggle to stay financially afloat. And finally, Ruto has had a chest-thumping, arrogant attitude, claiming to have a super-majority in parliament able to pass any law he wishes to. The citizens have refused.

3). How much has she paid back?
4). At what interest rate is she paying her debts?
5). What was the loan for and has it served its purpose?
6). What does Kenya want to spend?
7). On what does Kenya want to spend it?
8). How much does she currently collect in revenue?
9). How is this collection spent?
10). How can the current revenue be used prudently to avoid waste and over taxation?
11). How can we seal loopholes of corruption so that revenue is used for what it is budgeted?
If they do not look like valid questions to you, you are on the wrong planet.

Our debt is meagre. Norway and Denmark, with much smaller populations, have six and ten times larger debts than Kenya.
But Norway & Denmark have much more income, employment, and less wastage and corruption.

So they identify a serious loophole. With completely no need, you go out and borrow, and pocket that one. Now the country has to pay that back for you.
