Another great AM railfanning video! 3:35 I agree. No echos on M9s. But I think that even if they did, I doubt they'd sound good. To me, M9s sound like nails moving against a chalkboard. M7s sound great even when they don't echo. The echo just intensifies that beautiful acceleration/deceleration sound. 9:50 there was a bit of echo on that M7. Loved how slow that engineer came in and took off. Really get to hear how beautiful M7s sound when they take off slowly. 13:38! 😊 And yes, you figured out the trick. That is exactly it. Stand right by a set and you'll have a better chance of hearing the echo effect because like you said they're a bit out of sync. 23:36/24:06 Best sounding glitch to me. 😂 That one really sounded out of sync as it came to a stop. Excellent action with plenty of M7 echos. 👍👍
I’ll be doing more of these a.m. videos. You got me really wanting to try to catch these echoes. The best thing would be 2 trains starting up at the same time with echoes
Great videos Tim, haven't been back home in a while. Gotta take the trip, station upgrades and rail equipment, amazing. Keep up the good work...LIRR Kidd signin off😊
Usually I like the train travel videos but this one was really good. Question for RRHG - it sounds like the trains use regenerative braking when they stop at a station. Do they put power back into the grid?
Another absolute banger video. Makes me really want to get up super early and take video of the LIRR as it comes in at my station - FH. I love the shots we can get on the triple track especially.
@@3985uprr Appreciate the response. I'll be retired next year and plan to be riding the rails. maybe our paths will cross. Keep putting out the videos. You get a lot of hits from me.
Good video as always, I love your videos, especially the commentary, rarely is railfan commentary so good. Keep up the AM Rush Hour videos!!! I have a video request riding #7 from Montauk to Long Island City, I know that’s a big one and a long vid but it would be cool!
Hi Tim!!! How have you been?? I haven’t commented on your videos in awhile but I have been keeping up with your videos. I saw you went to SF and filmed the trolleys, light rails, and their famous cable cars there and when you took advantage of the NJ TRANSIT “free week.” Cool content as always. Also on September 15, there’s another NJ TRANSIT exhibit at Hoboken Terminal on track 17 there. I might go there. Couple days ago I took a ride on the Port Washington Branch on the newest rolling stock-the M9s. NJ TRANSIT will have a Conrail Heritage unit (4208) which might, just might be at Hoboken on Sunday.
@@3985uprr ok. But yes they soon will have 4208 painted as the Conrail blue heritage unit. I know you’ll want to catch that when it’s running. I look forward to see NJ TRANSITs Conrail heritage unit running as well. Almost a year ago when I met you at Hoboken.
It seems to vary a lot but do you have a general idea of the speeds these express trains are moving at? Interesting data I just love! Thanks for your great videos!
Your narration really makes the videos pop. You have a great speaking voice. Look forward to your videos.
Thanks much
I love the sound the M7's make when they start moving
Great, great video. Enjoying these videos and your impressive narration.

The M7’s and M9’s do have regenerative braking
Amtrak is thinking of a service from New York to Ronkonkoma. Interesting to see if that happens.😊
They’ve been saying that for decades
Great video sir…. Thanks for getting up, and filming this😊😊😊
This time of year, I enjoy getting up early
30:12 ahh i love the sounds of an E-bell in the distance
Appreciate you so much, Tim!
Major props for getting up early! great video 😊

Oh no .... what happened to the New London intro. Loved that.
I usually evolve in my intros concurrent with recent activities. New London was one of my better ones, but I thought it was time to move on.

Yep. My favorite thing about M7s.

Very nice.
Will you be at the Hoboken open house on Sunday? I will be there for an hour then heading to the Red Sox Yankees game
Go Sox!!!!! not sure if I’ll be there
They sound like the market Frankfort line in Philly

Track speed is 80. Some of them were close to that. Others a little slower.
Thank you sir. Great video as always

In your opinion do you like the M8's or the M9's or the Silverliner V's more?
I like the M9’s but I just love the SV5’s
No I'm getting old when I start reminiscing about the LIRR..RS3 passenger train days...😅
Were you at Boston south station today? Saw someone standing on platform 9 or 8
I wish I was
Where have the M3s been?
They have been running mostly on the Atlantic terminal shuttles
@@3985uprr Ah, ok.
@@3985uprr Ah, ok. I was wondering the same thing. Makes sense.
@@3985uprrAre there any other revenue services they run on? And when do you think they’ll be done for good?
Hi Timmy what time did you got up to get the rush hour?
I always enjoy your work and marvel at how steady your camera work is. Do you use a tripod or monopod?
No. Phone just has a great stabilizer.
A lot of M9s in this video, which makes me a lil sad for the M3s. Haven't seen one in a while. I'm guessing they're almost entirely out of service?
