My ear is not good enough to transcribe. I very much admire people whop are able to do it. I think the rhythm can be even more difficult to get correct than the pitches. In the end I change notes any way. I feel I can finder better choices, or at least ones I like better. Also it depends on the piano you are playing. I play a very high quality digital. Certain voicings don't sound well. Sometimes notated chords are too complex and a more simple voicing sounds better. Other times thin chords sound better when more complexity is added. In the end yu have to make the piece you own anyway. You just have to do the best you can with with what you have. I believe a good transcriber has to be a good arranger too.
