I would just like to say, that the tornado that hit you REALLY hated that Library
The tavern's effectiveness is derived from the area's beauty. By either putting it in green areas, or adding gardens, you will improve its effectiveness. (For future placements!)
So....this is what a full time UA-camr Quill is like....and it is AMAZING!!!!!

The road system is shit, the character creation is worse + sexist than previous games, the worse fucking RTS of all RTS games, and a very bad tutorial. The tutorial really pisses me with the fact that you should save often on it or else if you fail, you start all over again.

the rich industrialist might hint to Bioshock. But lost cities is probably a hint to Atlantis.

the more I see of this game the more I like it
I love the reference to Bioshock, Cthulu, and Atlantis with the king giving up on his underwater palace.
Specifically Bioshock, that thing with the rich industrialist under the sea.

Epic Person I agree. But even cheap programmers can make excellent work can't they? It's not the money they want that is important, but their education. If I was making games I would also produce it as cheap as possible - more profit for me then.

36:15 love how the two shipping vessels just crash into eachother like nothing is there.
When you go against the crown used it by military means and have lots of forts please! Paying them off is very tropican but militarist is more entertaining! (also zoom into the fights if there is any please)

If you max out the budgets on your docks, it will decrease the travel time to 5 months (Not Your Trade Ships fyi). If you throw any manager that increases effectiveness by 5 or more, it will decrease your travel time to 4 months

Just FYI, you were talking about Industry buildings early on, and the first one you can build is actually the creamery, which you can build as soon as the game starts.
+Cuchullainn Yes, creamery is dlc and is included in PS4 version. Sadly, it is the only dlc included in PS4 version.
+TMac53 ooh I see. I thought they were all included. Still better than the nothing! I have the pc version and really can't justify paying 2.99 for just a creamery building haha
It was hard to tell if you actually received any money when you sent Penultimo to serenade the queen or if the cash was from the trades that were triggering at that time, but it was pretty funny. The Pirates of Penzance is easily my favorite opera of all time and the Major-General's Song is by far my favorite within the opera.
There is always something to be said about going bananas. Madness is fun :D

Great stuff quill18 :) The game did look too easy on the normal settings, certainly for tropico veterans such as yourself. I think I'm going to start the campaign on hard difficulty, maybe not max at first.

Maybe in sandbox, maybe if you don't reach the goal on porpose.
But the other eras give you more tecnology and options for your constitution, so i don't why would you keep playing on an era with less options.

wait the music is licensed differently so he has to mute it? the cynical Brit AKA TotalBiscuit doesn't have his music muted in Tropico 5 when he did his review of it, so unless he got permission from both Kalypso and YT to allow the music to be played in his review he technically broke the conditions of both companies.
So boring without the music...

OCRemix it's a site of fan made music, so they don't have their material under the copy right management agreement of youtube.
So TB doesn't need to get permission to each music he plays on the end of his videos.
Hate all these missions/rewards, feels like the game is holding your hand. I played the first Tropico, and that game was excellent. Also can't stand auto constructed roads, and this small zoom ability. These things has held me away from the newer games. :) I'd really like some Tropico gameplay again, perhaps Tropico 4 is better for me?

I don't like that the farms are perfect rectangles in tropico 5 i think having the more random farms looks better. I know it is a small thing, but having more random farms contributes to the atmosphere of the game.
I cry because you can't upload these fast enough.

just pick this up on steam and im wondering is better to start with a campaign or the sand box? i have spent a lot of time in the red and i don't know if that is because i started trying to give everyone a house or if i need to adjust budgets, i don't feel the tutorials give much info on how to balance things
