Just completed my quiet practice kit yesterday when the last of my Remo Silent Stroke heads arrived... I hate them. Super Pads are arriving tomorrow 🙌 can't wait! If anyone wants to buy some Silent Strokes in excellent condition, DM me 🤣
They worked out great! I use them for daily practice at home and love that I can just take them off when I'm ready to play full volume. I'm very impressed with the tone you get from the drums as well.
At this point I'm on the brink of getting one of these. I don't like too much rebound from a practice pad as I feel like part of the point of a pad is to build chops and I don't want loads of rebound doing the work for me. I've recently become completely tired of rubber pads - for me they have too much rebound and for me they feel too harsh on the hands (I'm from the UK and we don't have drum corps, so the kevlar head feel has never been my territory). And they also don't sound good to me - I'm looking for something with more tone. I think sound is important even with practice pads. I have a plan which is to get a cheap 12" piccolo snare drum (hopefully arriving tomorrow) and put a Super Pad on top of it. If I want even less rebound, I can switch the Super Pad out for a regular drum mute. Can go snare off if I want a quieter sound (but retaining some tone). And I can take the Super Pad away separately if I need something more compact. All bases covered. Never thought I'd be so excited at the prospect of a new practice pad!
Depends on your snare size...14 is most common!! Off of the drums I would recommend prologix blue or blackout pad any size I think they make 12 inch pads
