i remember, especially the crusty elf products that one could find at ross. it was significantly cheaper but significantly worse quality, too.
You are not crazy - I tried some Elf stuff that was 99 cents that I got in 2012 at a Kroger- IT WAS TERRIBLE And gave me an eye infection… Ever since then I think of anything from Elf is absolutely horrible. But that was 10 years ago and now it almost seems like a lot of people are recommending it which is shocking to me… The quality must be better hence the seven dollar price tag now…I’m not rich but I honestly invest in better makeup now (Mac, Dior, Lancôme) and it is worth it.
@@JF-NYC-NJ-Girl 💯 agree! I'm not a wealthy person either but definitely prefer investing in Estée Lauder, Lancôme etc because, in all honesty, it really works better for me with "mature" skin.

I do too but tbh I think the "Loreal True Nude" with the dropper is wayyyy better tbh
I think the elf halo glow is really overrated tbh, I end up having to mix it with other foundations to get a nicer texture. It's very drying and can look streaky on the skin. Maybe I got a bad batch, because I bought 2 on sale in 2 different tones, and both are streaky and dry. I usually mix it with a bb cream but I don't think it's a proper dupe for Charlotte Tilbury. You are better off mixing a liquid highlighter with a foundation you really love. Imho!

When I went to CVS to get the elf halo glow It said it was $19.46. It was pretty expensive but when I went online it was cheaper.

the halo glow is amazing!!!!!!!
Just a little tip, the halo glow is like pure liquid highlighter so I don’t recommend it unless you plan on mixing it with another foundation. It just makes you look so shiny to the point where if the light hits you, you look like a grease ball.
the elf camo concealer is my holy grail, i’ll never use any other concealer unless they stop making it. i used to use the tarte shape tape but it was so expensive and i thought i’d try something cheaper and i can confidently say the elf camo concealer is better in every way.

i just wish the elf halo glow had a tad bit lighter shades. the only ones i saw at my local walmart had rlly dark and tan shades :/ i'm kinda pale kinda tan so the lightest is too dark for me
bro that l’oréal pressed powder made me look SO cakey and dry and shows so much of my texture it looked like i aged 10 years and i’m only 18
Same here!! It was incredibly cakey on me as well, it did not mix well with my other makeup and lifted off my skin super quickly😭
I just got the L’Oréal Infallible Powder and I was very surprised that it’s as full coverage as the elf Camp but doesn’t look cakey if you use a packed brush. Really nice A+
I have the putty blush and the glow filter thing and they are AMAZING. I would also recommend the setting powder for the foundation bc thats rlly good too!
i didn’t like the elf putty blush but that’s only because it had a lot of glitter in it. i don’t like a lot of glitter but if u do its great!
they have a non luminous line aswell

I’m sure the blush formula is similar, but the elf putty bronzer is one of my go tos!!! It blends sooo seamlessly (& doesn’t pull too orange on my fairer complexion which is a bonus too) so I’d have high hopes for the blush lolol def wanna try the L’Oréal powder since everyone raves abt it💓
i have the putty blush and i never know what ppl are talking about when they hype it up. it blends fine, but its a nightmare to actually put on
L’Oréal has some great skin products love their Lumi foundation is perfect on my skin, the blushes I got the only two left mauve and coral beautiful shades during a Target sale and they apply so smooth and perfect. Also have a few Undone cream blushes very nice as well and gorgeous shades! Maybe I’ll skip Elf. Sometimes their products haven’t amazed me do love the brushes most.

Elf Putty Blush is one of my favorite blushes. I never tried anything from Flower Beauty but the Liquid Highlighter is so pretty which I might try. Elf Halo Glow Liquid Filter I tried and picked it up from Target and I love using as a primer and dewy foundation. L'Oreal Foundation Powder I can never find my shade in. Milani Sponges are so cool but I never tried them.

i use the putty blush in the shade “turk and caicos” and i can vouch so hard for this product it blends so so well and doesn’t feel heavy on the face at all

The loreal powder made me look cakey. I’ve heard such mixed things and I just got the sad end of the reviews. It also made my dry skin feel so much more dry and it’s the worst feeling
The L’Oréal infallible powder foundation makes me look super Cakey

Kokie beauty blenders are the softest/best I have ever used and I have the beauty blender. I will have to try the Milani ones since I do have so much Milani makeup but I have not seen those in any store I have been to that has that brand.

Guys the highest coverage Concealer I've ever had was the Elf one I've previously tried L'Oréal True Match, IL MAKIAGE and Maybelline. Any recommendations on higher coverage drugstore concealers?

Love all but the elf putty creams. Milani makes much better ones. Many brands do actually. Love the rest of her recommendations though.

Soooooo I use only drugstore makeup cause I'm broke also idk how to do makeup well (some products ifk how to make them look good on me so I don't use them) I just do what works for me but here's my recommendations (elf is my best friend)
Get a good moisturiser!!!
I use Elf Poreless Primer rn but I used to use the BarryM "Cool" Primer
My Foundation is L'Oréal True Match
I use the Elf Concealer for coverage but it doesn't come in my exact skintone either a shade too dark or a shade too light so I use the slightly darker one as coverage and use the L'Oréal True Match Concealer in a colour that works for me.
Elf setting powder but I have used the Studio London one before and that's OK
Elf transparent brow gel
Maybelline Sky High Mascara is really good (if you want a waterproof one then try Revolution 5D I think it's called that, it's blue packaging)
I use the Revolution Rose Lip Oil, it's my cheap alternative to the Dior lip oils.
Remember I'm broke and I'm always learning new stuff about makeup and better methods. I'll come back here in a few years and cringe because of my old makeup routine. Always take care of your skin first and foremost (makeup looks ways better on Well cared for skin so find a good skincare routine before makeup, personally I just needed a moisturiser and SPF but everyone is different)

Remember when drugstore makeup used to be cheap?
I hated the putty blush so much, I had an orangey brown colour and it was so patchy, lasted like 2 hours max in my skin, and smelled like crayons!
