I want to give advice to anyone doing their own nails. I was a nail tech with my own business for almost 30 years (I’m now a nurse). I still do my own nails at home. You will damage your own nails if you don’t remove the existing set properly. Those marks on your nails are where part of the nail bed has come off with the previous set. This makes the nail bed thinner therefore the natural oil from the nail comes to the surface quicker and will cause lifting. When removing the set, don’t pry them off use some sort of dissolvent to soften the gel and carefully remove it. Push back and remove as much cuticle as possible as it produces oil and grows on the nail bed so if not removed properly the nail can lift. The more attention to detail you spend on the prep the longer they will last. I wanted to give you ladies any advice I can so you get the most out of your nails. Also LED lamps are so cheap now so if you want to do your nails quicker, use the small lamp to flash cure and the bigger one for you whole hand - 4 fingers, 4 fingers, both thumbs. Always cure your thumbs separately so they cure properly 😊
Hi Kelly, I am so glad to have found this, after 18 years of using gel nails, my nails are so week, I started having the builder gel on my nails at the salon, but it was costing way to much, I went and bought this Kiss system yesterday and am looking forward to using it. a heck of a lot cheaper I might add. :) I love how quick it was. ty for posting this video.
Wanted to share a tip I've learned from doing my nails at home like this for 2 years, start applying pinky fingers and work towards the thumb and pointer finger, makes it easier to apply the thumbs and pointer fingers last. Love your videos Kelly!! ❤❤
I have used press ons for years now. A tip that really helps remove them is to soak your hands in warm water with argan oil in the water. I soak them for about 5 or so minutes and they usually pop off pretty easily after that!
Thank you, Kelly, for sharing ❤ all your nail tips. I've been wanting to learn to do my nails at home. I just don't know where to start. I've only come across nail tutorials that are time-consuming, and I just want something easy and fast. so thank you, girl❤
Kelly. That’s exactly how I feel when I leave the salon. I hate my nails and cannot say a word. And then when I do say something, they pretend that they cannot understand what I’m saying 😮😢I too have been trying to do mine at home.
Kelly, you said that it doesn't damage the natural nails. Normally, the removal process damages it. Would you mind making a video of the removal process, showing no damage to your/someone else's natural nails? I'm sure many others would like to learn how to remove safely too. 😊
Love this! I used to do glue on nails all the time and then kept getting nail fungus. It was so painful and took forever to heal. I'm traumatized and scared to try anything attached to my nail again. I admire girls with nice nails. I go all natural now 😭
I was very skeptical about using press on nails. I bought a few packets. They were dirt cheap and I thought well maybe in the future I’ll get the courage to put them on and see how they come out, they look Fabulous. I follow the instructions on UA-cam and I had gone shopping and women were asking me where I had my nails done and I explained to them that they were press on nails and it only cost me five bucks and 10 minutes to get them on, they were shocked that they were not from salon.
Your nails are always so pretty. Have you tried the beauty secrets drip and clog proof glue? OMG, I was watching Laura Lee and she uses and she posted an insert from a tiktok video (I don't have tiktok). After watching her video i went on UA-cam, this tuff has gone viral so I decided to try it and oh my. My last set of nails last 29 days, and I did some things more strenuous than I would in my daily routine. I was actually getting bored with them and was hoping one would break so I could redo them but I wanted to be faithful to my wear test. I had no lifting and didn't even break one. The one that did lift was my fault. You should try, especially with baby coming :)
I love using press ons! Last up to 3 weeks with some flipping off but just re glue! Always have glue in my purse! lol. And at 4-8 bucks it’s a win-win!!
Have you ever done a gel color over them before? I want to use these for a wedding but I’d like them to be more opaque and I have gel nail polishes I could use on top.
I bought this kit and did all the prep and they popped off minutes later so i tried again and same thing happened. I used the same nails you used I’m gonna try one more time but I’m gonna get the nails that are more see through so maybe they cure better
I remember watching an older video of yours on how you did your nails! You’ve changed a lot lol but all in good ways! Your nails always look great! Probably won’t be able to wear them that long once the baby is born so get them all in now lol! Question-why are the daisy nails called Red Flags?!? I almost couldn’t find them bc all the names make no sense lol 😂. Anyway, thanks for another great tutorial! 💅🏻 ❤❤
I had purchased this product to try a few months back but they didn’t have big enough nails for my thumbs, as I have larger natural nails. So I ordered a gel-x nail system from Amazon and am hoping it works out so I can do my nails at home
Kelly : is this what you started with when you began doing your own nails back during Covid? For some reason I thought you had a more “advanced” system w full gel dryer, etc. pls lmk! This looks doable! Congrats on your little one! Wear your nails however you like when he gets here : I can’t wait to people telling you to have short nails. Bless.
@@KellyStrackKelly don’t let people tell you that you have to have short nails just because you have a baby. I have always worn long nails even when my daughter was a baby. I didn’t hurt her or scratch her anymore than I would have with short nails.
I enjoy your UA-cam videos. Your Natural Nails do not look healthy. They look like a layer or so has been pulled off of them. If you have thin nails or any nail, you should use 100% acetone to soak off the Acrylic nail Yes, these are Acrylic nails! The real gel nail process takes hours. Look it up. They use the term ‘gel’ nail. You may have to soak them, nails with Acrylics, for 20-30 minutes. Also, right now, allow them to heal which can take a few weeks. I suggest you use clear polishes; base coat, then nail strengthener coat, then top coat. Repeat every few days. Additionally, use a gentle nail remover, not 100% acetone. For example, nail polish remover with a light natural oil. I hope this helps. Let me know your thoughts and what your research has recommended. I am NOT against the product. I’m addressing ‘your’ nail health. 💕
Your nails are in such bad shape because they are damaged by all of those adhesives. I'm 52 and have never had a mani or pedi. I've been doing my own nails for about 40 years. Those chemicals are very bad for your nails. As well as cleaning products, so wear gloves when you clean and do dishes.
@@marieclark9925 I mostly use Essie and Opi polishes. Always put on a clear topcoat. I use lotion every night. I definitely protect my hands from all cleaning clemicals. I use a glass nail file. It is very gentle and doesn't tear the nails. For polish remover, I only use non-acetone. Even though acetone remover works faster, acetone is really bad for your nails.
