Here's the catch:
Has to be ported and sustained (updated) on many platforms
Does not have in-app purchases (before you say this MC currency thing, be reminded that: that platform exists for creators which want to make money off of their maps, rather than giving them away for free, and if you want you, you can even install maps on your own, you do not need to buy any of that stuff and skins are just useless cosmetics that most people don't even buy anyways) and from that logic, Mojang would go bankrupt if they didn't charge money for the base game.
choose one: Money-hungry, cash-grab game, or pure game, no cash-grab and you don't have to pay for anything unless the server puts that paywall, which in that case you can go to a different server, but that's with the server community and not the developers of the game.
still, it would also be hard porting it to basically everything, still updating the game, and not charging money for it. otherwise, this new coin thing would have to be a cash-grab paywall, from a business prespective

@@corduroycondom3186 Nah, it's just that MC is not graphically intensive at stock textures. I have GT 710(!) and can run it at under 50 percent GPU utilisation in 1080p, while still getting 100 fps on a clear map. That changes though to 20 fps in the end game.

I mean, 2 1080 Tis could probably match the performance of a Titan V. 2 Titan Vs would run any game 4k60 w/ ultra settings easily.
Two 1080 Ti's will easily beat this card. If you're a gamer and you want 4K 60 frames per second on Ultra settings, that's the way to go.

Wargon I never understood why GPUs are benchmarked using only ultra setting. You can get a huge bump by turning setting down to high. It's ok to show ultra but they need to show "60 FPS" settings for the card as well
ultra settings are overrated. In most games there is barely any visible difference between ultra and high, yet performance gap is quite big.
4k aint gonna need 8x MSAA on which these ULTRA settings probably have, 2x equivalent would be all you need really which would boost frame rate by about 20fps or more.

Vega FE is worse than all of them and it literally costs about as much as the 1080Ti
As a fan of AMD, I don't see the point of Vega FE, it is simply a V64 that they sold for more earlier. If they'd just released the v64 and v56 by themselves I think it would've gone much better. That, and been able to sell the cards at MSRP consistently, but that's just the market doing things the way the market does. I hate to see AMD do not as well because I really like competition, and they supply that fairly well.

I am from the future. 650tis are $7000 each. Bitcoin is at 1m a coin, eth is at 100k. Prebuilts aren't cheap anymore, because it's been so long that the manufacturers have run out of cards. No one pc games anymore, because it is too expensive. Only the elite that already had a 1080ti still play pc. The 1080ti is valued at 277k a card.

As bad as amd is, You have to admit, Intel and Nvidia have their prices controlled because without amd in the market, Intel and Nvidia would be lions in the market... We wouldn't have been able to reach where we are today in technology because amd has presented a product in lower price (even though it may not be good) Intel always wanted to top it, Intel spent on research in fear that they don't lose to amd... For all you know Nvidia and Intel would have double or triple the price of their gpu/cpu, a 1060 would cost what 1080ti costs...
With the mining ongoing it aint gonna take long for that to happen, AMD is rotten dog trash.

It's also for double-precision compute (FP64). Given how terrible FP64 performance is on every other NVidia card, it is in fact the best deal when it comes to these use cases - for those that can afford it.

AMD is still crushes the CPU market in my opinion.
Coffee lake seems to be closing the gap in the lower end of the spectrum, with the i3s being quad core, but the threadripper line of CPUs is still the most power for the amount of money.
16 core threadripper is around 900$ where the comparable i9-7960 being around 1700$
For low mid level gaming AMD comletely owns the market. with a crossfire rx580 and a threadripper cpu only costing around 2500$ for a solid setup
where a comparable intel/nvidia set up with SLI using 1060s (closest match i could find for the rx580)
costing more than 3000$

joey no, i think cpu market still owned by intel. after ryzen come amd make a litle bit of comeback but its not huge after all, just a litle dip in market share(5%) and it's coming back to intel again after coffee lake with 6core come out.

Have y'all every thought of using a clamp meter for measuring power draw? You can just hook them onto a power cable and see the power usage rise.
However, in most clamp meters, when measuring amps in DC mode, you'll need to zero it out.

In regards to CUDA support with TITAN V, yes, this is unlikely to work on most compute platforms. The card isn't even listed on their Accelerated Computing section for the Developer site. However, once additional Volta-based GPUs are made available, this should improve.
According your chart about ResNet-500 ImageNet 2012 you've stated that Titan Xp was unable to cope with batch size 64, whereas Titan V scored it with the highest result. That is something weird because both these cards have exactly the same amount of VRAM - 12GB. How's that possible?

The fact the titan V is drawing less power isn't suprising at all to me. It's designed on TSMC's new "12nm" Process, which is a good step up from their 16nm original process, and its much refined.
