I think it even worked better for heel Jericho that the crowd sang "Judas" during his entrance. It was like it was feeding his characters maniacal ego. Like he thought the people worshipped him because of his excellence. Like a tyrant.

The lyrics of the song is one of the main reasons it works so well as a heel. He told us from the beginning he was going to turn on us.
I was worried they would stop playing the music. I’ve been to live shows that have cut the song off and people really get upset. The kid next to me almost cried because it was the part he was looking forward to the most.

My favorite is when in a feud with MJF, one stipulation was that the ring music wouldn't be played. With no music, the entire crowd started singing. Seems like they skipped over a small part, but other than that, it was epic.

Jericho nailed it when speaking about how "The Reaction" is what ANY performer attempts to get! And whether it is directed at Heels or Baby Faces, it's the Benchmark of Response from an audience! I'm sure The Lion Tamer would agree in Kurt Angel's "You Suck" from the audience as another example. My oldest Son is a local TV News Producer and he got to meet and interview The Ayatollah Of Rock-N-Rollah back in 2020 right around his 30 year anniversary in The Business ( Chris's First Match was Oct. 2, 1990 ) as "Fozzy" performing here in Columbus, Oh. He's a really good singer, I love Judas, and my favorite right now is I still burn. He is so underrated as a singer. Fozzy rocks!
He totally deserves this reaction regardless of heel/face disposition. He is an icon in the buisness along side the all the greats.
I went to their live show last week in Charleston WV and experiencing the fans screaming that song all together in the audience was just amazing to be a part of.

I remember WWE forced the fans stop singing along with Nakamura's theme when he turned Heel. They took that part out the song entirely and brought it back when he turned babyface again.

I've had the pleasure of singing along with the crowd at Grand Slam 1. I've been to plenty of rock shows where people sing along but never been to a show where the entire arena is completely into it. Jericho is the GOAT 🐐
Heel, face, something else, let's not forget that Jericho is a walking monument of wrestling. People are going to chant for him whichever role he has.

He's actually got 2 reactions in 1 here. He's gotten an organic reaction from the crowd that every wrestler strives to get, and as a singer, the greatest compliment a crowd can give is when they sing the song back to the singer themselves.
