One of your finest sermons Pastors. Sometimes you hit you hit it out of the park, and this is such a one. I pray God continues to bless you, protect you, and empower you with wisdom and humility.
"of course it's not possible by self-effort, by just determining "i'm not gonna be jealous"" suppression - saying "no" to the opportunity to do something, as a Christian by God's enabling and help repression - denying that I even want to do it -> unhelpful and untrue deal with it between you and God. acknowledge it is sin and bring it to the light of God's presence.
Please know I was married to a man that wanted me to be "jealous" and created my insecurities through his charm and flirting and service to other women. It was a form of control and it fed his ego. Yes, jealousy was a prison but if there were any inclinations in my heart, that man brought out the worst of me. Only some know what it's like to be married to a real narcissist. We used to sit through sermons like this and I was the one looked at with fault. I feel for some of the women in the audience, some men create it in their wives because they are insecure in themselves, whilst the wives feel like no one understands. Not even the preacher.

Sounds like he didn't love you the way Jesus loves the church and sacrificed himself for her.
"Was married" - sounds like you solved your problem.
