It's been said over and over the average, every day, people like fresh, clean shower smell or laundry smell. Out of all my fragrances, my wife mainly compliments my freshies and most of my Prada colognes. She does say a damn thing about my gourmand or oud based scents. The most I'll get is, "I mean, I don't hate it, it's ok."

I'm the only person in my life rocking the original Aventus DNA and its clones. It works. It's why people like it. Most people don't wanna live life being mindblown. Nice is more than enough for them.
We don't get complimented on expensive niche fragrances because most people are not attuned to those scent profiles. Those aren't relatable scents.
Us humans are simple creatures in the core. It's why cheap wines win blind testings against bonkers pricey wines.
Fine taste is a trained, polished thing that requires work. Most people haven't put in the time. So, WEAR WHAT YOU WANT FOR YOURSELF.
Don't make validation from other people a thing to satisfy your self-esteem. You should already be real with yourself and own it.

I love the Creed Aventus DNA. This fragrance sounds up my alley. I want it now. They also have a fragrance that smells very similar to Creed Aventus (Dumont Nitro black) Pretty good stuff.👍

Even though collectors know about the Aventus DNA, not a lot of common people u come across have smelt it. When i bought CDN, i got complements everywhere. Yet when i wore a popualr frag like Dior Savuage, all i got was, oh u wearing dior arent u. Point being, someone smelling aventus for the first time is going to fall in love with it like we all did when we first smelt it. Thats probably what u experienced here.
Cubes...I got this frag when you first did a review of Dumont...I like this much better than CDN...a bit fresher without the chemical smell. I agree the DNA is getting over played, but it still gets compliments, is a good year-round DNA, and there are far worse that cost much more.

Boxes from Celerio perfumes are more expensive, than perfume alone.
...I bought Celerio Oros and I was really surprised, I never seen the more luxurious perfume box before.
My most complimented are the Sauvage, Baccarat, and any of the Aventus dna in it. I don’t get any compliments with Layton, Ganeymede, Boozy fragrances or gourmands. Ppl like the fresh, out of the shower type of fragrances.
I am getting into fragrances. I have a several now, all mass appealing stuff. I saw that there was a lot of clones of PdM Carlyle and that particular scent is held in pretty high regard in the fragrance community. I tried it and thought it smelled funky and didn't like it. None of my family liked it either. As I wore it, I could see myself appreciating the complexity and growing to like it. However, I also got a realization that if it takes me several wearings of a scent to grow to like it, almost no one is going to like it off the bat and give me a complement.
Now, I'll just focus on scents that I really like and maybe get a clone or two of scents that may be more interesting. That way I don't have to drop $350 for a niche scent that only I will enjoy and will wear around the house because my wife won't let me out in public if I 'stink'
Agree I found Alexandria fragrance and got the clones for neshane ani and nef also pdm oajian ,pdm althair , hafez 1984 , hafez in Milan and a few other different smells that to me , I’ve never smelled before but love it on me! Don’t care what others think

Bleu De Chanel EDT is my most complimented scent. Easy nobrainer fragrances are the ones that work.
Dumont makes phenomenal fragrances. My current favorite is their Dumont Celerio Epic. I just got their Burouj Mysterious on a blind buy. Will see how it smells when it gets here.

Trust me, I am in the same position. All of my Aventus/Sauvage/baccarat rouge 540/Layton-style frags get me compliments without fail.. my favorite frags to rock are fruity, leathery, rose/ouds and I still get compliments on them, but… fresh, sweet/ synthetic never fails, and I do this thing where I just try to be as objective as possible. Turn off my frag head instincts for a second and just sniff these frags from the cap to try to understand….and they’re right these profiles just work that’s what people want. That’s what people want to smell…Lavender, pineapple, vanilla, ambroxan…these are just notes that check people’s boxes almost universally. I wrote a paper on this in Developmental Psychology in my undergrad. Most people in modern, developed countries, you can’t miss with a sweet/fresh frag, especially when there’s pineapple, lavender, cardamom, ambroxan, and/or vanilla involved.

Cdnim is one of the fragrances in collection that I really don't like way to cloying and smoker aunt-ish, but for some mysterious reason, it's by far my most complimented (I've also got hate from a stranger once or twice for that fragrance, but still a compliment beast)
Out of appx. 200 fragrances , my most complimented is Qa’ed Al Fursan from Lattafa , just something about that pineapple🍍😎👊!

Yea people have such basic noses I agree. I've had zero compliments wearing Reflection Man, Ani, Naxos, Angel's Share, Ombre Leather, and Memo African Leather. Not a one. However almost every single time I wear Versace Pour Homme I get an unsolicited compliment. Now I do love pour homme, but those others I wear are killer and smell amazing.

125$ in the UAE on their official website..in UAE really where there are tons of same dna clones from dozens of well known fragrance companies
This last summer I started cutting down my collection and just try to keep it small a simple I even bought a bottle of sauvage after years because it's the ultimate dumb reach and everybody likes it
This DNA is so cracked.. I own 30 fragrances.. every Y, BDC, Sauvage EDT and Elixir, 2 1 millions and every invites type. Cheddar Boise is my most complimented fragrance and I’m 20 years old 😭 the dna is great. I get more compliments with cedar Boise than actual aventus

There's something in Hacivat that I can't stand. It's super sharp and strong and it's unbearable for some reason

Are the content creators wrong? No but they are looking at fragrance (scent) like an art form. Regular people (Civilians) just like scenets that smell good. Most women (like 50%+) don't like tobacco, oud etc.

Try Luxodor Prince out (Aventus/BR540 hybrid) the most complimented fragrance I have. I wore it on a flight back to Cali from Indiana and felt like the flight attendants wanted to rape me 😂😂😂

SNOI itself is a beastmode fragrance, very long lasting mix of Aventus and Hacivat, but more on the black currant and smoky side.
I got so many compliments for it, so I am very interested in the difference of both of them.

Part weekend went to the Galleria and smelled what I'd imagine amber oud gold edition all over the place and thought, I'm sick of this scent.
