Nice presentation , man ! For me top "cheap" frags that smell way more expensive are : Shaghaf oud abiyad (clone of interlude) , L'Homme Rochas, Zara vibrant Leather Oud and Zara's rich warm and addictive
Opulent Oud is a fragrance that i get whafts off even after 18 hours, next day basicly, and thats on skin. If you put it on shirt and wear the shirt the next day, you will smell it on yourself all day without having to reapply. But it has to be your thing, its the densest fragrance i own and very polarising. Some swear it smells bad, cheap, synthetic but for those of us that make it work, its a beast. Just please don't wear it in the summer, spring or fall! Its so heavy that its downright bothering.
You should read the book "The Perfect Scent" by Chandler Burr. In it he, a journalist, describes a year in the business, following Jean Claude Ellena as Hermes' perfumer, and Sarah Jessica Parker creating her first scent, Lovely, with Coty. According to him, he was surprised as to how much Sarah Jessica wanted to be, and ultimately was, involved in the making of Lovely. She daily wore like a layering of three different perfumes, one of them being attar, etc.

lattafa maahir legacy is a beast on me. 14+ plus hours on skin. 2-3 hours projecting of me. Got the most compliments of anything in my collection
I get good performance as well... there is a scratch syntheticness in the opening I don't like, but it goes away in the dry down... haven't got my nose on PdM Sedley yet to compare

The projection is amazing. For example: I went to my bank and was standing in line. I finally stepped up to make a deposit. (Keep in mind. All four tellers are behind closed plexiglass) Another teller was helping another person and screamed at the teller who was helping me "what was I wearing"..they could smell my fragrance behind the plexiglass. It's some good stuff!!

Lattafa - ameer Al oudh ... I have a sample of it. I f**king hate it. Anyone know why? It smells like plastic dentist burnt sugar herbal tea mosque with ZERO smokiness. Sickly, cloying, headache inducing, nauseating... my brothers&boyfriend also hate it. How are others opinions so different from mine? The notes I tend to like are almond, cinnamon, vanilla, fruity, gourmand etc... love florals but not crazy about most freshies
