I love how you saved time by killing the cacodemon while the Spider mastermind was dying rather than leaving the Spider for last and waiting for it's death animation to finish.
I love a good UV-Max speedrun. They're so satisfying because you know they must've been really stressful to play, but you get to see it in its perfected form, and you know right from the start of every map that no demon gets out alive >:)
Huh. I was always annoyed by the crushers in E3M4 breaking the floor-raising switches, but I never thought of the raising floor cancelling the crusher! And wow, just the act of killing the last cacodemon after the spider is why I could never be a speedrunner.
oof this run has a lot of painful moments, and I mean a lot ... honestly, a low 16 would be more than possible with that routing and *just* good RNG. Like come on, Slough of Despair's Pinkies taking 3!!! Berserk punches? Last Imp at Cathedral taking ages to spawn? A freaking Pinky tanking a rocket to the face in that Warrens' corridor? I agree with your description, this could be improved so much further, cause this run was painful to watch thanks to that awful RNG.
i remember looper saying it's mostly skill, not luck about doom speed running in general. great player, but i wholeheartedly disagree - it's a lot of both.
@@isawedthedemons The skills are there and well executed. I'm sure everyone watching the video will agree that Zero's skills are superb! But a single pinky in the entire map dying from one Berserk Punch is quite unlucky. The Berserk Punch has a damage range of 20 - 200! and a Pinky has 150 health, low chance? Sure, but not to that extend. The worst offender, tho, was that Cacodemon after he grabbed the Berserk at Slough of Despair. Taking 6 punches when he has 400 health, you can see how that is simply just the game picking low damage values instead of mid or best. There IS a lot more of RNG screwing up that made this run less great and that's of course, none but the game's fault. I could go into more detail tbh, since that was just a small part that I covered.
Hi, ZM. Is DSDA the best vanilla port right now? I loved PrBoom and PrBoom+ but looks like both of them stopped being developed and DSDA is the best continuation for Boom vanilla concept for now.

This was undoubtedly due to the addition of the pain elemental. However, in console ports such as the PlayStation and Saturn versions of Doom, they are still considered part of the kill score, easily pushing the kill ratio past 100%. This is because of their inheritance from the Atari Jaguar source, which predated Doom II's development. This was corrected for Doom 64."

Strange question. It’s ether cause of the RNG or because the BFG tracers prioritise ground target and have a vertical angle limit.
