I so love your videos. Beautiful goats. Thanks again for sharing all of this with us. 💞 PS. It's your heard, it only seems natural to go with a name that comes natually to you for her. Becky is a perfect name. 💖
Beautiful kids. The new goats are doing so much better and after a few more milkings, im sure Becky will come around too. Excitedly waiting for more kidding videos. Cant wait to see what everyone else has.
Great, video, love all your, beautiful sweet goats and beautiful babies cant wait to see more babies, thank, you, send more love all your videos 🐅🐅🐅🐅🐐🐐😎🙄🤣🤩😘
I've watched many a kidding on UA-cam and you guys are the best. You are so loving. Others are good don't yet me wrong, but you guys make it so family oriented.
Lodi was so funny and was upset when she could not escape. Those babies are so darn cute and yes if I were getting any baby goats I would want the friendly type so I could be around them without them running. I cannot wait for the next birth. I just love watching your videos because you are so good with your goats and they love you.
I enjoy learning about their care. Have you done a video about shipping , prep , during, and recieving ? I think it would be very interesting. Thank you!
Thank you for another totally entertaining and awesome vid! You always are with your goats and they know you are there to help them. We watched some content from other UA-cam creators and most of the people with goats do not interact like you do. Their goats are wild and you can’t get up to them. Yours are awesome❣️🇨🇦
I love living on the farm and at this time in my life I am not able to do so. So thank you for sharing this with me. If I was closer I would volunteer to help with the chores, but I am in Colorado so that is out of the equation. Hope that all of the birthing goes well and all moms and babies do well and grow strong. Hope that the weather stays great during the kidding season. Thank you so much for sharing this with me. I really appreciate this. Stay safe and happy kidding
So adorable...I would love to feed the babies 😍 good job with the new goats....ohhh Becky 🙄🤣 poor girls but they have a loving home now. I really hope they can turn around for ya 😊
beautiful babies, awesome job of explaining your views on removing the kids from the mom.y'all have a fantastic goat herd so whatever you recommend works..looking forward to more babies..
The kids are so darn cute. I just love watching them play. Some of the kids were quick to take the bottle. Can't wait till the other does have their kids.
You are a great teacher for all things show milkgoats and die great in explanations around separating mom en kids.🙂 So good to see how easy doe s accept the wearing. And what a gorgeous kids!
Thank you for your vlogs Crystal - recommended you to some of my vloggers that i watch who are just beginning to keep goats and family as well that are planning on having goats on their homestead shortly. Yall are awesome and i have learned so much! Thank you i so appreciate you and your family. When my sister is ready for goats - i will tell her to come to you first!!! Love the info - you share and the care you give and all in all LOVE your homestead and all you share with the viewers. YOU GUYS ROCK!! Hello from Texas!
So cute! Thanks so much for all the information Crystal!! Your channel is my encyclopedia as I grow my own herd! I just found out two of my does are pregnant!! I am planning on separating because I've had some old man goat still drinking his mom's milk and freaking out hard when they were separated! It was an unhealthy attachment! So, when can your reintroduce babies and mom again?? Do they need to stay out of sight of each other, or just out of reach? Thanks!!
Why do I still have a feeling you're gonna find Lodi outside the pen again? Also why are goat noises always either cute and adorable or the screams of the fallen? (Lodi vs Becky)
Lodi is determined to sneak out!!! That little stinker!!!! Love seeing this separating and first milking of the season. It's an amazing trick you've figured out!! Distraction while separating is simply genius!!! I love how Val almost came to you for scratches, she's coming around!!! Becky looks so comfortable with the other girls too! Becky is so pretty, love her spots!! Gotta love watching those little babies play!!!
Thanks so much for this video! I’ve decided I’m going to separate kids at 2 days old this year, and I had some questions about starting them on the bottles. You answered all my questions! Fantastic video!!
Hey Mrs Crystal and Mr Crystal lol Mr Derek looks like you all did a fantastic job with your goats. I am so very PROUD of you and your family. You all work so hard and as a team. As they say it takes a village to raise a kid and that’s what you are all doing ( kid goats) GREAT job to you Derek and you great children. I appreciate you sharing your birthing and the information about the baby goats. You all take care. And God Bless you and your family. 🙏🙏🌻🌸🌺🦋🌼🌈❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Well said, Jill ---- I couldn't have said it better! The kids and dams are doing just fine. You've found a system that spares everyone a lot of stress. Looks like a win-win to me! Great job!
I am freaking separating. Makes me feel sad. Poo. ❤️ you ! I decided to edit this and say I know you know your goats and you know what your doing. I just love watching and learning. I really want to hang out at your place haha.
I love your videos. Makes this Los Angeleno city kid want to live on a farm with real animals! I have another home in Hemet and just down the street is a guy with 100+ goats that he hires out to eat weeds! I go visit them every chance I get. Thank you for the great enjoyment you provide for us all!
So many baby vids coming 💗 you have a beautiful bunch of lovelies and im so pleased to see Dawn again still going strong yay i really appreciate the hard work you do bringing us these vids
While I respectfully disagree on kid separation as a general practice, and our farm dam raises as priority, your videos are always gentle and informative. We ran into a poorly situation where neither kids or dam were doing well. We ultimately decided to leave her with one and raise her second with the third she rejected. I tried pulling all 3, and one didn't take well to the late transition. Knowing how and when to pull is essential for the best outcomes. In hindsight, I think I should have pulled all 3 kids as early as you do in practice. I think this under the weather dam and her kids would all be off to a better start in this scenario and it'll be an important lesson to consider should I run into another doe not handling pregnancy and birth well.
Girl you have such an amazing memory I don't know how you do it although I did to when I was your age, I think Becky is a great name and I truly love it
Adorable babies! I remember you saying a while back that you had room in your herd for one more breeding buck. Who were you hoping to get a buckling out of, or were you looking to get one from somewhere else?
I raise show goats too, Nala is actually a show goat, but I don't really have anywhere else to separate babies and they're not allowed in the house. Do you think that 4 babies will be easier on her udder and it will fill more? I only have her in milk. My other doe Tilly is still only 10 months old. I actually do go out there and handle my kids daily, almost too many times lol. They climb all over me, and when they're done eating from Nala, they'll come right over to me and they'll play with me.
Curious why do you separate kids from their mama's? Is it because you want the milk versus the kids. I'm relatively new to your site and I used to be a cattle farmer and we didn't remove babies from their mama's unless there was a medical reason. I love your goats!
Joline Skeppner Chrystal said at the beginning when showing off the ones born so far, she is keeping a female from Mayo. She named her Mabeline. 💞 @ 2:00
Yeah we also take our kids but we don’t wait, we take them at brith. The doe’s don’t even care. We do this bc we also want friendly kids and we do monthly milk test, we have herd share holders. So milking is number one with all our goat’s. Thank You for sharing.
Lodi "Look what I can do" is like a velociraptor from Jurassic Park. She's strategically testing the fences for weakness......she remembers. 😳 Lodi for 2021 President. She promises free grazing for every yard!😂😂😂😂
I had a bottle baby goat once. We struggled a bit with getting him to eat from it. Mostly he destroyed the nipples. About 3 days in I noticed that he was drinking his whole bowl of water in one shot. The bowl I was using for his water was deep and narrow. Somehow this translated to nursing for him. We still tried bottle feeding for another week but, decided it was stupid when I could just put his milk in the bowl and he sucked it straight down. Have you ever seen a goat do that?
@Phil Hall I figured that was a no. I was shocked. I mean why would people buy bottles all these years if they could do the same thing with the right shaped bowl.
We are breeding goats that produce a high quantity of milk genetically. Plus, separating and milking twice a day makes them produce more milk. It's obvious when a kid is mal nourished and need more food.
I have been watching you and Weed em and reap for a while now because we were planning on getting goats🙃. We have two 3 month old boys and 2 bottle baby girls right now💜😁! Bailee ( one girl) is 3 weeks old and Fern (the other girl) is 2 weeks old. Is their poop supposed to be kind of a weird color and not in pellets at this age? I thought it was, but it isn't yet and I just wanna make sure that I'm not doing anything wrong🙃.
It should be the color of mustard when their diet is only milk. They should have free access to alfalfa by now though. Once they start eating alfalfa, or hay, their pellets will turn brown. Should see little berries shaped poo though. Even when just eating milk.
Very pretty kids and I understand why you separate. We sell all of the kids at the same time so we leave them on the mothers, but I start to milk twice a day from day one. I can check udders and it stimulates more production. The kids can't keep up at first, but then by 2 weeks old they are getting almost all of the milk. So at two weeks we start kid share and put the kids up in a stall at night. It is so funny to see them learn to go get in the stall by themselves when they get into the routine. Then we get all of the night milk the next morning. I still check for extra production in the afternoon for a while. (Some does give more than the kids are taking). With Nubians, we get gobs of milk. I hope pretty soon to learn to make hard cheeses like you do. So cool!!
I’m nicknaming May, Wideload, she is like 5X5. You’re a Dairy farm and some separate due to their need just like some cow dairy to produce other products with their milk. I’m sure California Dairy separate as many others.

@@BlueCactusDairyGoats No, I only give treats occasionally. However, I will pay attention to them and sit with them often in warmer weather. I'm thinking they just want the attention. Believe me, they are well fed 😉
hi sis . bottle kids from day 1 milk mom first 3 days and feed its baby then you can use any milk to feed if you split them from day 1 its easy to baby feed by bottle and mom give more milk... its very important first 3 days babys drink mom milk .. sorry for my poor english
Absolutely phenomenal work you guys have done with the new goats - they are looking so great

I would like to defend Elsa's wide berth , a few pregnancies really take there toll on us mammas .
Let's not blame our pregnancy on our girth....It's our hand to mouth that causes this......

When do they go to their new owners? How many of your babies get sold in a year?

Yes!! I see some people at the show just feeding the goat kids in a pail and they just suck it down! I was astonished!
Waaa hard to watch them grow up.🐐 Miss Lodi that is.
What age does the does stop breathing and when they retire what happens to them they seem to be very bonded to you
I feed whole oats on the stand, oats are excellent for milk production.
How do you guarantee you will have enough milk for the kids?
We are breeding goats that produce a high quantity of milk genetically. Plus, separating and milking twice a day makes them produce more milk. It's obvious when a kid is mal nourished and need more food.
