This is actually the proper way of parking but as we have it, the constructors of roads have not considered parking space and service lanes. The national standard of city roads is supposed to be 150 ft including roadside parking but in Dimapur, it is only 100 ft without the parking space. The white line demarcation is smaller than the ones in Guwahati and even highways in Assam, which seems to be able to accommodate the entire width of a large SUV.
Dimapur and Nagaland as a whole went through huge contradiction in developing this road which is in actuality supposed to be a national highway. People started occupying properties right next to the footpath and weren't willing to leave when asked by the road developers (NHAI) without compensation. However, 75 ft from the middle of the road (150 ft overall) happened to be demarcated as Government by national standards and the little compensation that came was lost in the translation of this debate.
So Dimapur remained in the Nagaland standard.

People buy car without garage and park on the public road as if they own the road. Making public road as garage is a nuisance. We better stop this nuisance.

Once i encountered a two wheeler was parking in its designated parking space and then a fortuner arrive at that spot and was honking at the two wheeler to make space. The two wheeler guy got annoyed and was showing the signboard, then from the back of the car a middle aged woman popped her head out and asked the two wheeler to give a little space.. There were a bunch of middle aged woman all dressed up fancy sitting and the person driving the car was just a driver for them.. so yeah rich people sometimes act as if they own everything.
People who don't go out and just sit at home are complaining. Someone please take some useless guy from this comment box and go shopping or marketing with you only then they will know the real problem since there are no parking space and no other option to park car other than to park car in road.

Madam at 3:30 you are discussing about accident and death of people, and right behind you your camera man just caught a video of near escape from a live accident.
Please do sensitise and educate the public through a video, when and where pedestrians can cross the highway, it seems a lot of people are still unaware and ignorant as evident from the 3:30 video timestamp, which is just one instance caught on live news report, Hundreds do the same every minute , every hour of the day.
We should be very careful while parking on the road. But the question is where will be park all the vehicles 😂 just see the corner is it fit to park ?
Next time when I go out for shopping I'll park my car at Hornbill Tv offlice since there is no parking for cars. State Government should better bring authority of town planner from outside State like from Delhi, Mumbai. Our Nagaland leaders,hohos,councils, authorities ,no one i repeat no one thinks of better Nagaland beautiful Nagaland from their heart...they only know how to loot and make more money,drives luxurious cars and construct big buildings and complex in many different places. 1'st and big parking problem in nagaland 2 wheeler 4 wheeler all same, nagaland kitia pi change nahobo😢.
This may sound rude and inhumane but the best way to teach such selfish and unruly car owners is for their cars to get smashed by trucks and other huge vehicles. This is a highway and beyond the marked white line, vehicles are supposed to comply freely. In mainland India, the truck owners will not hesitate for a single second to smash the cars if it is obstructing their path.
Its time to build parking lot buildings just like major cities, too many vehicles these days road is hardly visible because of unlimited vehicles. Make multi storeyed buildings and charge fees according to hours parked with token system and security at entry and exit points.
Town planning is required to tackle these sort of problems, this would not have arised if there were proper parking spaces , which should have been considered earlier .

If a person doesn't wear helmet, he/she imposes fine then why do traffic police do not see in this kind of issue? Lock those cars who don't follow rules and regulations and make them pay huge fine so that they'll learn a lesson from their mistake. There should be equal treatment between two and four wheelers
