Hope you enjoy this version of 'Sunny'. It's played on a D'Angelico EXL-1 archtop, built 2014/2015 in Korea. The backing track is a bit slow, i didn't feel extremely comfortable with it - hope you like it!

+Joshua Noll Hallo Joshua, für Jazzgitarren immer einen Amp mit gutem warmem clean-Sound. Viele Jazzer spielen gern Polytone-Amps, ansonsten kleine Fender Röhren-Combos wie Deluxe Reverb, Princeton Reverb oder ähnlich. - Andreas

Love your videos! Tell me, would you feel comfortable with a drummer and horn section with this guitar in terms of volume from the floating pickup? I am thinking of purchasing one based on your videos!
+Harry Antonian Hi Harry, if you play live in a small combo setting like trio with bass and drums or quartett with added sax and not too loud, there shouldn't be a problem. Sometimes you just change your angle to the amp to prevent feedback. Another option is to fill out the f-holes. When i have a jazz gig that i know will be very loud i simply put some acoustic foam into the f-holes. This puts jeut a slight pressure on the top (and bottom) and makes the guitar less resonant. The acoustic sound is then dead, but you can crank up the amp. If you cut out a perfect piece of foam you can put it in and out easily, even during the gig at sound check if you realize you will be in feedback trouble. - Andreas
I'm curious about the amp brand that you use and how do you set it up to get this tone or do you have any video where you talk about your gear? Just want to let you know, it is an absolutely beautiful tone and really mesmerized my ear into trance!!!! Great videos!!!

hello I have been looking at the Dangelico EXL-1a narural tint, with Just a piezo pickup. have you had any experience with that guitar, looks like it would be similar to this model..but doesnt have the floating pickup. Seems like cool guitar to have for clean jazz and blues, very inspiring post!!

Thanks! I bought it used, but the first owner never even took the foam from under the bridge, or the "Made in Korea" paper tags off the headstock. So I feel like a first real owner, at a price I could justify. It's at the shop now, getting a set up. Also installing too tiny pins as 'bridge locators', so I can change strings with confidence down the road, but still have it 'floating'.
What is the guitar plug into It sounds nice in rich?

+Eric Schwartz Hello Eric, strings from the factory setup, probably .012 flat wounds. In the videos i just use a tube preamp, either a TLAudio or an old H&K Tubeman, no guitar amp. No effects, just a bit reverb. - Andreas

@@LeftoverVISUALS I agree, I was asking for the presence of the floating pickup which has a different tone than the set in pickup, that is the one used by Wes Montgomery.

You're right that tempo is too slow, but good tone and playing. Should be almost twice as fast; would like to hear you play that.
