The best bird hunting video that I have seen. Just two hunters out enjoying a day with their dogs, not some dude that knows very little about hunting constantly running his mouth as though he was giving play by play of a basketball game. Keep these good videos coming.
Nice video man - I live / hunt Kansas with my Drahthaar and I have to say you do a really nice job. The way you work your dogs is great. I’ve learned a lot from watching your videos. Nothing like upland hunting over your own dog.
Ive been to Kansas the last 2 years and only seen a handful of quail. I'd love to see numbers like this. We will keep searching new areas until I find them! Great content and beautiful dogs👍 Appreciate the time you put into these
You have some beautiful shots but u also have some risky one u should hold since u have a lot of birds around Hope the best i really enjoyed some videos u just took me a long with u while I’m home Keep the great job
I appreciate you putting in the time and dedication to make these videos for everyone to enjoy. Always great dog work, storytelling, and the video quality is always good. Please don’t stop making these any time soon.
I was thinking “maybe I could do that”. Until I realized you had the birds flying in slow motion. I might have to stick with treed bobcats; my “pointers” sitting at the bottom barking up.
Never break that dog shooting birds on a break point. We had great dogs and it was no way we short birds over an unbroken dog. The dog got disciplined and was made to Whoa. Telling a good girl after breaking point. House dog.
I used to hunt north central Kansas and preferred it to hunting in South Dakota. Bigger bag limits and the fact that quail were always in the areas I hunted, plus a cheaper license that was good for the whole season made it a better choice. Hopefully going back next season with a new dog. Your video took me back and was great viewing.
I'm headed to Tipton KS this coming friday. Supposed to be 17 degrees saturday morning. Can't wait. We are hunting a private ranch. I'm curious if you are hunting private or public walk in land? Also, 20 or 12 guage? Thanks. Great hunting. Love your videos.
good dogs good vid good shooting but get a real gun side by side or o/u my boy , semis-outo only for wars and we have many , pease love justice and BIRD HUNTING PERIOD
Really enjoy your videos. Tubby seems like a bird finding machine. I get when you're out by yourself with those long marks wanting him to break on flush. However there were a couple times on bobs in this video i was like holy shit i hope he doesnt jump when u shoot. Have you considered holding him to be steady to flush just for safety. Certainly has the mind for it and seems to mark well on long retrieves. Looks to be a very well bred dog. Again your videos and dogs and shooting are amazing. Just my 2 cents.
Thanks Nathan, I’m glad you enjoy the videos. I have grown accustomed to shooting with other people and dogs in close proximity. When field trialing you have to thoroughly analyze your surroundings to know how to make a safe shot, or when not to shoot, and the practice has helped me be able to make safe decisions quickly. There is still a risk obviously, but I feel it is significantly mitigated.
Brilliant stuff 👏 👌 god what I would give to go out with you for the days shooting noting like this in Ireland and by god you can hear it in your voice how much you love them dogs
Eric- as a Kansas native and upland hunter who has a lot to learn I would love to see a video with you discussing your hunting philosophy (as in I see a covey of X number and I won’t shoot any). I’m also curious if you sell any GSP pups. Love your channel. I’ve learned a lot from you sir.
Greetings from Denmark. Awesome video as usual, keep up the good work, You and Your dogs are an inspiration to us all. I would just love a pup from TubbyxCici, however its a long way from Your place to mine, and they would surely cost a welldeserved fortune! Best regards
Nice vids. I'm glad you talk about low flying bird and no shots or not safe around the dogs. I travel around to some of the same states you hunt. maybe will run into you sometime.
Awhile back I asked you about good upland hunting podcasts to check out and you turned me onto the birdshot podcast. Since then I've binged all that and moved onto more and just listened to you on the upchukar podcast. Love the bird hunting knowledge you bring to the table and your awesome content keep it up man its awesome! Btw I'm a dogless grouse and mtn quail hunter in coastal Oregon.
Awesome video! I live in North Central Kansas and have been seeing the birds hold extremely tight like you showed. I kicked a pheasant hen today. Keep up the good work!
Enjoy your videos, a friend and I are planning a trip to Kansas this fall. What size shot do you use when hunting mixed birds that are so drastically different in size? Thanks for any help you’re able to offer.
When I used to hunt areas with both pheasant and quail, I loaded my own 2-3/4" 20 ga. shells with 1 ounce of #7 lead shot that I found at a gun show. It worked great out to 35 yards or maybe a little longer on pheasants. I used a skeet choke and improved cylinder in my 20 gauge Citori O/U. I wish I could find some more of it.
Great video! both Camera and dog work. I currently am living my passion for bird hunting through videos and am glad I found this channel thank you for sharing.
I was hunting Hill City area week of Dec. 13. Hot and dry. saw 1 covey and no Pheasants. Some people were haying grass on walkin area's. What brand of vest is your brother wearing? Enjoy your videos.
How many dogs do you shoot? You need to train them to hold steady to shot until you release them to fetch. I'm surprised they will hunt for you with you shooting so close to them when they're running after flushed birds. If I was your dog I'd bite your leg.
The best bird hunting video that I have seen. Just two hunters out enjoying a day with their dogs, not some dude that knows very little about hunting constantly running his mouth as though he was giving play by play of a basketball game. Keep these good videos coming.

Good on ya! 👊Finding them is the fun part, good luck!
Enjoyed alot thanks for upload
great work...well trained dogs.
Looks like you found them again. Cherish those times with your brother, they seem to get fewer and fewer as the years go by.
Will do 👍
You have some beautiful shots but u also have some risky one u should hold since u have a lot of birds around

I’m late to the party on this one, but great stuff as always!
Kansas upland hunting has been good this year if you do the work.

Good day mate
Anxiously waiting for season opening
When it will start?
You ever done a desert quail for scaled or mearns? You about have everything else. You do a good job with your videos thanks
Not yet
No way we walk all day on a dog breaking point. Dogs stayed frozen, as we walked up the birds.
You’re a really good shot. Just so you know
So nice having a dog steady to shot. A much safer way to hunt over dogs.
Awesome
I was thinking “maybe I could do that”. Until I realized you had the birds flying in slow motion. I might have to stick with treed bobcats; my “pointers” sitting at the bottom barking up.

Hello from Greece! What breed is the white-brown dog? Is it kurzhaar?
He is a German Wirehaired Pointer. His slick coat makes him look like a shorthair.
My Britt Gunner had one like that one time; the quail was 8 INCHES from his nose and just sat there while I took a photo.
As always GREAT ! Glad to see my Quail Forever contributions go to good use ! And yeah. I say "SHIT" on my GoPro hunting videos too !

Well said Eric, well said.
Eric,,,the word miss is not in your vocabulary like me ,, anything but miss ,, whiffed is a great replacement
Awesome hunting! I was in Kansas for opener. Lots of quail! Very few pheasants. Usually the other way.
Sounds good to me!👍

I meant that all Pointers are fabulous breeds so intelligent

My gsp is pretty hard mouth
Can it be cured
Need some suggestions.
It’s complicated but usually it can be fixed or managed. Check out Perfection Kennels. They have good training methods for this.

Enjoy your videos, a friend and I are planning a trip to Kansas this fall. What size shot do you use when hunting mixed birds that are so drastically different in size? Thanks for any help you’re able to offer.
I just use 7.5 shot but I mostly focus on quail. However I routinely kill roosters out to 30-35 yards or so.
@@ericforrester1 Nice, thank you for the reply.
