Hah that's an angry LinkedIn comment (FFS)!!
Good clarification - a core DUP is a twin sample at distance =~0 from the primary. I think people (myself included) disagree with the usage of "duplicate" (as it confuses a lot of people new to QAQC) rather than how useful it is, and having a good handle on your short distance variance is very important in estimation. It is the difference between "oh shit possible nugget" and "oh shit possible lab issues" when you see a discrepancy between the original and duplicate in core DUP vs split DUP.

I've got a video on twin drilling coming up. Another term people use. Not for this though! Care to elaborate on specifically how it confuses people?

@renesterk oh awesome that'll be interesting.
Well I assume the ubiquitous use of the term in crushed sample splits and their use in QAQC, and the literal meaning of "exactly like" when a core duplicate cannot be exactly like the other half, quarter etc. A shared name/term for different things.
I'm more weary to point out to people it's not a duplicate in the same sense as a second split of an RC sample. But the value of a core duplicate makes them very worthwhile to do.
