@@dzlfreek - Excellent. I'll look at that cluster of wires too then. Could you please add a note in the description of your video that this got you going again? Buried in the comments it's more difficult to find!
I bought 2 clusters. They dont work on my car but work on other xj. When i use also others ecm to try, they work but car is so out of tune. Whats wrong? How can i fix this?
Sort of. someone was in the harness before me to replace the connectors and just twisted the wires and shrink wrapped them. I did take the grounds and soldered them and re-shrink wrapped them and it made a huge improvement. Now I have to do the rest, when I make some time for it.
after I took the shrink tube off I found that the wires were just twisted together. so, I soldered and heat shrieked all the wires and it never glitched again. if the repair hasn't be done, its likely the connector.
I do the same thing with my wifes 1999 Jeep Cherokee...that she has owned from 2000. "This is a f k n Disaster". Pretty much my favorite working on car saying. Fixed the doors switches today, pulled the bulb out of the rear defroster switch to fix the number six 5amp fuse for the dash lights blowing out. Come to think of it my 1st car is a 1974 Duster I purchased in 1984, it was 10 years old and it was an old car, My wifes jeep is 23 years old now, Yikes We are getting are moneys worth out of it :)
Wow...I took a sip of my drink and then "boom", "this is going to be a short video.." I was expecting that, "A Few moments later" and hear the outcome...I am guessing this has to do with the short-fall of the Apple MacBook which had memory issues...
I finally find this after a longgggg time issue on my xj and wouldn’t ya know mopar no longer makes the connector
That look on your face is one I have frequently when seeing somebody else's repair...
sometimes I have the same reaction to my own repairs!
Thanks. I know a lot of people that have these jeeps. I'll pass it on.
Sooo, did you find the exact source of the problem?
shitty wiring job.

I have no idea. go to xjjeeps.com and find a wiring diagram and start tracking this issue down.
Why don't you reply to these question's? Did you fix it? My cluster respond to the gauge test but no bus. All ground's clean.

How long did this repair last you?
