A month of stress, digging, measuring, and measuring more all for the big day, when Advanced Concrete Systems installs my Superior Walls system.
I go over the system and why my specific foundation was one of the more complicated installs. Enjoy the video!

I have seen a crane tip over because people took for granted the stability of substrate. Seeing all that mud I can see why the crane operator is hesitant to do the lift.

Been involved in a few superior walls sites as a Supt and one for myself. I think the baseline issue is the sales guy has to underplay the required site specific support needs to make the sale and then only hints at it just before the install. That leaves their install crew always on the back foot trying to get done on time and asking favors. A sure recipe for a grumpy princess.

I agree. The sales rep was very nice but even before I got a quote he had no desire to check the site conditions. He came by 2 weeks before the install date and the plan that was given to me went sideways. They had a plan, I followed it and wanted the perfect site to install a complicated system for them. At the end of the day the walls went in and they are good. I back fill this upcoming week and I hope the walls stay in place. lol. He was also concerned about how the concrete guy were going to install the basement floor and as I assumed it was no big deal for my concrete guy. I’m used to people saying we will figure it out. They were quite the opposite on that spectrum.

@@TodayIWorkOn - that was the next disappointment for me on my own project. Superior installed no wall bracing or gave any documentation with a suggested method for that (which would have twigged me to do it myself). The salesman did tell me up front that floor deck and floor had to be in place before back fill, (which makes sense) but turns out that was not sufficient on it's own. My excavator took extra care and spooned in a sand-only back fill and the walls still tipped in at a section at the top about a 1-1/2". The concrete floor and deck were complete. Ended up having to remount the framed walk out walls and fur out the foundation walls to get back to plumb. I would highly recommend running foot to plate cross bracing inside before any back filling. The sales guy did check the site just before install at least. I had to get the excavator in quick to run the the driveway base in behind the house so they'd have a solid pad for the crane. Luckily the driveway was going to be there anyway so it wasn't an additional expense; only a please do this quick favor. The basement floor went in easy, my guy used treated 1x4 mounted on the face of the metal studs to set the height and keep the concrete out of the stud bays.
