- We have added the Buddy Flex to our collection of Mr. Heater heaters. Is this one the best, is it worth the extra money to upgrade. Well it might be, depending on your requirements, budget and intended use.

I think it depends on the situation. If you are alone in a small ice fishing shack then I would use the Mr Buddy older version with a wood burning stove fan on top. But if you are two or three people then the flex would be better because then everyone could have heat on three sides. I just got the Flex, my 3rd Mr Heater.
there is a cool fan attachment that you can find online that operates on the updraft of heat circulating your heat that works great, keeps the heat even and circulating without batteries
Very true, I have 2 of them. A single and a double, should probably do a review on them soon.
Doing a rewatch to show some love & support!! 👍
Thanks for the comparison. I like that it's a little more compact. You've shown me that it's probably not going to be different enough for me to move from my Big Buddy right now. I only use it occasionally.
Thank you for watching and commenting.
After listening to all the pros and cons, I'd say it's definitely worth upgrading, especially with the wind. Better heat and everybody gets some. Good luck on the fishing bud!
I am happy with it, I really like the wind resistance and the fact that it doesn't tip over as easy. Thank you.
This was such a great review , I'm sure this will be very helpful to many! Informational share, huge thumbs up...
Thank you.
Thank you for sharing and we always enjoy! :) 💖
Thank you.
Happy Friday love 💙
I hope you have a beautiful weekend 😊
Thank you. You too.
I need to pick up just the small one of these. Nice review Dan.
They work good. Thank you.
Thanks for the informative review, buddy!
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Awesome info, Dan!! Thanks for sharing... Like # 11
Thank you.
hello Dan,, good video ,,i have two of the Mr heaters,, they are around $ 90,00 a piece,, they work great for warming the tent or the tear drop camper up,, they will knock the chill out of the cabin as well,,but i have never sleep with one on,,good info thanks for sharing,,
I agree, all of them have worked well for me.
Thanks for the great video my friend 👍
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Great video. I have a Mr. Buddy and love it. 👍👍 Great Review
Thank you.
Been bit curious on the new one as i have 2 of the buddy heaters already, good run down on it!Hope ice fishing goes well!
We might get enough cold weather this week so that I will feel safe on the ice again this weekend, but the weekend will be warm again. Been way too many people falling through lately.
Cannot beat the old Buddy's I got the big buddy over 10 years old works just like new . Got the Buddy portable cannot beat it.
They work so good.
Great video I was wondering this exact question recently
Thank you for watching and commenting.
The Buddy Flex sounds like it has a lot of advantages it price isn't a problem
They did put a more premium price on it, but it works well so far.
same size burner face on the narrow end and three side exposure very nice. ill get the cooker as well
Thank you.
Good review, informative
Thank you.
they are perfectly safe for indoors
They say they are anyway.
To stay warm I would say its worth more.
I agree.
When it comes to heaters it's an important factor to me that it does it's job . Keeping me warm don't skimp out on a cheap one with cheaply made quality
Thank you. Mr. Heater makes some good units.
Excellent review, I have the same original buddy that you have on the right there and always worry about it tipping over. That newer one looks a lot more stable and I could use the extra BTUs as well. Thanks!
The new one is very stable, and holds up to breezes better than the other one. Thank you.
I need to get a new heater for the blind.
This might be an option.
Rewatch, Brother!! 💯👍
Thank you.
@@3DOutdoors Welcome!!
When it works, the flex is great, but i've had nothing but problems with mine.
Mine is sitting on a shelf now and replaced by the Big Buddy.
@@3DOutdoors im about to do the same. either that or just rebuild my OG buddy heater, I'm glad i got it on sale, cause i'd be even more pissed off if i paid full price for the POS.
with that extra compartment on the side, I folded up the instruction manual and stuck it in, but now I am thinking is storing paper a fire hazard? also if I store an extra battery, can that explode too if it gets to hot? what do you think?
Always safety first. I don't store anything in that compartment.
Coscto has to hire you to show their products.
I wish, do they actually do that?
@@3DOutdoors Yah, let me find the link!
@@3DOutdoors I can't post the link because stupid UA-cam won't let me.
@@3DOutdoors Just type in "Costco with Randy" then a Facebook link will show in the videos. It's all their.
It's a catilist heater they hold dirt in. Harder to clean. More propane smell. Love buddy heater hate this one. Great review . Ps guy brought on to work working on house with no heat hated the propane smell. Gave me a migraine. He started sanding wood with out shutting it off it started burning odd and nasty it's in catilist . Don't know how to get it out. Never had hard time blowing dust out of regular buddy for years any tips on cleaning catilist or do we need to order new if we can find it.
I haven't used mine in that kind of environment, so I haven't experienced that.
lol!!! the empty side storage looks a lot like an LP storage lol an extra bottle storage
Unfortunately it isn't big enough to hold one.
Wonder if there’s a quick disconnect hose to connect to the side to a bigger propane tank?
I have found for the Big Buddy that there is a quick disconnect hose. Not on the rest.
@@3DOutdoors i actually found a 12’ Mr. Heater QDC with filter at Menards. Works perfectly! Had it run for 30hrs 3 days total without a problem!
@@jasony724 That is actually where we picked ours up at.
As far as I know there will be no civil war here and if they turn off the gas and electricity here, I would have to look after a multi-burner, but dragging those five flights of stairs with myself is a bit too much for the good. I do not know whether it was with you or someone else, but a small burner or wood with an oil pipe right there can keep your boiler warm, so that your home is still heated, as I know. But you can do that with tea lights under stone flower pots so that you get a vortex that can heat your entire room. I hope it doesn't get as cold as in: -57°c (-71°F) Siberia | -51°c Kazakhstan Animals frozen SOLID
Wow. Those are some really cold temperatures.
Will the hose for the cooker fit in that compartment?
That is a possibility.
@@3DOutdoors how are you liking it? I just ordered one plus the cooker from cabelas won't be using it for a while yet but haven't seen many reviews passed the unboxing
@@seanmcintyre5148 It actually ended up putting out too much heat for the shack that I have, couldn't turn it down low enough. So I had to go back to my older heater.
@@3DOutdoors ah man I bought mine primarily for heating the tent😳 hope the ol lady likes it warm 😄
Great review heater and stove can't run at same time can't go as low 4000 to hit in most locations in a tent area you have to keep i further off walls 180 heat and price wow with no thermostat 🤔 waste of money. Oh yes batteries die in cold so bring extra or that long match stick lighter
Hot 🥵 lol
Thank you.
Thank you.
Flex is currently on clearance everywhere and is only a matter of time before they drop this all together.
It's overpriced and underpowered junk. Really too bad no one has given it a proper negative review
Thank you
3:33 hmmmmm just thinking logically if you was to hook up a 20 lb propane tank that would be where you're extension of.hose would go.
Thank you
Damn.... having to have battery to get the starter going... idk
So much better than the way they used to do them. The old style once they ran out of current you had to replace the igniter, now it's just a cheap battery and you are back in business. I like it.
