    This is probably the best hologram display today. Very similar to one that projected by R2D2. Thumbs up!

    finally, it's about time i see something other than people projecting things onto a 2D glass screen and calling it a hologram, now this, this is more like it. it's like fuckin mass effect technology

    Decades ago (~30 years) at the Disneyland Haunted Mansion, when you exited the car you had to walk a little ways to exit the ride. There are various things to look at along the walk and one was a small glass window on the wall that you could look into what appeared to be a box, or "room". Inside was a hologram of a woman standing there and talking. Almost nobody would look at the display or if they did would hastily continue. I was fascinated. I thought it was the highlight of the ride.

    this is brilliant. holography, and the holographic potential of consciousness itself, will play a large part in the evolution of our beliefs regarding our own infinite potentials. show someone from merely 50 years a holographic projection like this and it would have been earth-shattering in scope. This is a breakthrough, the future is here, and ready to peak

    Holograph is actually projecting 3d images in 3d world space using just a projector and persistent light source,but indeed that techonology will take years to come.
    I will have to make it i think.

    Nope! Not a 3D hologram, or holographic display. BUT! It is a very cool semi 3D, volumetric display technique. Thanks for sharing this.

    Reason 1, this is far easier.
    Reason 2, for medicine and stuff it doesn't need to, just having a 3D image of organ scans and stuff will be brilliant compared to current technology.

    They are projecting on the order of 5000fps onto that mirror..... how? Most screens and projectors only have a screen refresh rate between 60 and 120Hz. Is this a DLP projector? What is going on?

    Get Minecraft, add the clay soldiers mod and put on red blue glasses.
    Then let the fighting begin. You could also use a 3d TV with Minecraft for a even better picture. With this many armies can fight at once.

    That's what I said, when I saw better holograms than this 10 years ago.
    There was a display, I can't remember the name, but it was projected on mist and you could actually TOUCH and interact with the hologram, moving it in 3d space. 10 years ago.

      And what is an hologram but not a great optical trick

    • @merion297
      @merion297 8 років тому +1

      Hologram is hologram, and there are several other optical tricks. Hologram is a light interference anomaly but this on the video is just an optical illusion which makes a hologram-like optical trick, created with rotating mirrors. For a 3D hologram, you need polarized lasers projecting through a holographic image. Read about holography on Wikipedia, e.g.

    @ChaseParkison I might. While I think that such a method of cancer treatment is far more dangerous than any current method (intense burns and trauma death being the first health risks that come to mind), it does create a potential avenue for non-invasive surgery; given several decades of tuning, this might actually work.
