Yea I almost can't believe it. I skipped PS4, so I have been having such a good time the last year catching up on the best titles and some new titles too. I'd wish I had used it even more though, but that's just how it is sometimes. Its been a very busy year
My favorite thing about the playstation 5 that not a lot of people mention is how much better it makes playing ps4 games. Reloading after a death is night and day.

@@cmdr101z8 I recommend building a zip line trail from mountain knot city, to the mountaineer to the spiritualist to the first prepper. If you’re lucky you’ll be able to use zip line connections from other players. Also be very careful if you create long chains and then upgrade to the directors cut. The zip line connections from other players don’t transfer and you’ll have broken chains all over the place.
It’s been a solid year, I love my ps5 and I’m grateful I was able to get one at launch. If I had one request it would be for themes to make a comeback, and to have the ability to browse for avatars like on the PS4.
I just got my PS5 at the end of last month and I'm honestly mesmerised at how good the dualsense is. It felt so weird to have constant vibrations with Astro Playroom at first, but after getting the plat, it felt super satisfying and an impressive showcase. One of the best "Year One of PS5" videos that I've seen so far. I got mine about 3 weeks ago. I told myself to wait about a year but I figured it would've been longer with how difficult it was to get one. I haven't put it down since. My PS4 Slim was sadly on its last leg so it worked out. I agree with the cards, I don't use them so now I unintentionally block them out. Otherwise, loving every bit of my PS5. It rejuvenated attacking my backlog while enjoying some of the newer games. Looking for to more years of gaming after almost "retiring."

It's definitely a stellar gaming experience and its only gonna get better from here.
@@Vt0702 Not any, but any decently capable stereo reproducers, sure. That the DSP could be tuned to ear shape is not just marketing though. This is essentially the smaller scale version of room tuning for example mainly Yamaha marketed ever since the nineties after all. There is no doubt to anyone "it does something" anyway. If it works well can be individual, but may also be the reason for why this more personal tuning is needed, and more so for some. The only thing I'd question is if they started to pair this tuning tech in in-ear plugs. As it may as well be left to the playback devices in that case.
@@Stoppskylten it's not gonna be on another league or something for 3d audio it's just optimized as there are still only 2 speakers in the headphones. I think they've perfected the 3d audio for headphones but should implement eq settings for atleast the older Sony headphones which isn't there anymore on ps5
For me personally, the 3d audio is the only ps5 feature that has disappointed me. I don't know if it is due to my headphones or incorrect sound profile, but for me the games sound muffled and worse than stereo audio. I only tried 3d audio on death stranding (supposedly one of the games that best implement 3d audio), and was left disappointed. But besides that, the dualsense features, the PS5 fast UI and internet speeds (8-10x faster than what I used to get for ps4), I have been loving the console
I finally just got my PS5, and Playing F1 2021 on it incredible. The adaptive triggers and haptic feedback are an absolute game changer. Just got mine in September. It's a good console, my only problem is that the ps5 is really loud when it's turned on and it reads the disc for about 30-40 seconds. Then for another 30-40 sec when u play and load a game. I do use my ps5 as a secondary console, only use it to play ps5/4 exclusives. So far I've platinumed Rift apart, Miles Morales, Days Gone and currently playing Ghosts of tsushima. A lot of great single player games on PlayStation. I primarily game on my Xbox Series X/S. Being able to play games such as psychonauts 2, Forza Horizon 5, Back 4 blood, GTA SA Remastered and many more on Game Pass day 1 can't be beat. I feel like the ps5 is a great console when u want to just relax and enjoy a single player campaign game. Can't wait for Spider-man 2, forbidden west, and Wolverine

I noticed the 3D audio of the PS5 as soon as I started using it. I have a surround sound system and I’d been playing Titanfall 2 on PS4. I continued the campaign when I got my PS5, and instantly could hear where enemies were much more clearly than before. It’s saved me a few times in Returnal too, when I’ve heard movement behind me and been able to react before getting hit. The 3D audio is excellent.
I want to see PSVR2 officially announced soon. Feels like we've been waiting so long since they showed the controllers but it's only been a few months..

People need to realise that so long as it’s not illegal for scalpers to use bot software to obtain a PS5, it will still be difficult to get one. Sony as far as they are concerned aren’t fussed because units are being sold via scalpers. Stores need to step up by providing stock and only allowing one sale per person. There are scalpers sitting on 10 or so units trying to sell them for around £6-700 which is ridiculous. I manage to snag one on e-bay via bidding and paid £530 I think scalpers may in the long run hurt the sales of games because they are have all these units that they are sitting all these units without games being bought to accompany them.
I am going to buy Ghost of Tsushima DC via PS5 upgrade path tonight. I am excited to play the best version of it on the PS5 Although I dispise the updated box art. They should have kept it the exact same as the original release, but in a PS5 box and have "Directors Cut" on the box
I don't regret buying my 1TB PS4 Slim during the 2019 Black Friday sales for $250 Canadian (plus tax) including three free games that came with the console (God of War, Horizons Zero Dawn complete edition, and The Last of Us remastered), and later I added a 2TB external USB 3.0 hard drive for $85. It will be nice once 2TB+ M.2 storage becomes more affordable and hopefully a future refresh of the current gen consoles will have 2TB internal standard storage. I have yet to ever see a PS5 on store shelves more than one year after launch.
Agree with most of your points. I love my PS5 and I also love my Series X, we are in for a good console generation with these two at the top. Cards are honestly useless to me, except to see which trophies i need (if it works). I also really wish Sony would look at something like smart delivery for their games, because paying for a game twice is a real pain when you're a student

Better controller, longer life-span, much more modern U.I, way better graphics especially coming from the launch ps4, it's much quieter, way more games in the long-run. Getting a PS4 in the current year is not a good idea if you were even just considering the PS5.
I love the dualsense apart from 1 issue, the stick drift. I've mainly used my ps5 for streaming apps and not put that many hours into actual games, and already the stick drift is getting ridiculous. I had a ps4 controller for 6 years and never had the problem, its just really disappointing that these issues still persist.

The pulse headphones are awesome as well. Much better than headphones I have that are 2x the price.
I think you bring up a lot of good points and appreciate your enthusiasm but, I think being a little more critical of Sony and some of their decisions would add depth to your overview. 1.They are slow to roll out basic updates to the console that should've been ready out of the gate, specifically VRR, 1440p resolution support and SDD support (I know they recently added that but it took months). In your video you make it seem like they are doing a good job of this, when in reality the competition is doing so much more here. 2.They should give people the opportunity to try a game before committing to buy a game outright. I live in Canada and each new PS5 game costs over $100 and if you don't like the game - tough luck. Frankly, a game like Returnal or Demon's Souls does not appeal to everyone (the games are beautiful and polished but it is not for everyone). 3.Lastly, I think the paid upgrade from PS4 to PS5 games is criminal. Yes some games have DLC but they also lock you out of quality of life improvements such as haptic feedback on the new controller, SSD load times, etc. Again, the competition is just doing so much more here and literally do the same if not more for free. All of this is not to say that the PS5 is a bad console - far from it. I just think being a little more critical of Sony when they are being anti-consumer is important in the long run (definitely don't want a repeat of the early PS3 days). Anyways, just my 2 cents.
I like the dude but critical of Sony he has never been. He will be critical of Xbox 😅 So you kinda get what side he's on. I on the other hand take a neutral attitude because every console has its good and bad qualities. I definitely agree on all that you've said.
PS3 early days were really bad but the last 3/4 years were better. Meanwhile Xbox One never had any momentum in its 7 year lifespan. I mean he is critical at times, he criticizes PS3 a lot in the past and explains how the Xbox 360 was better for that gen. He’s also made a critical review comparing what PS4 did better. Overall I’m getting a PlayStation just for Spider-Man and Wolverine and the new horizons and gow. Halo infinity is halved baked and how it turned out to be last week on release is embarrassing.
@@mountaindew3201 PS3 had a terrible lifespan of both the rate of releases and reliability of the console. I love a lot of the titles for it but he's definitely right o. the xbox 360 killing it with so many great Xbox only titles. As for the Xbox One it sold quite a good amount and I never have had a single issue with the console nor have anyone I know. Ps4 on the other hand had terrible issues with consoles failing like the previous gen and the new gen Ps5 isn't any better. Failure rates are huge with them. Unlike Xbox One or Series X. Unfortunately Sony has a problem with actually vetting their consoles before release and its been that way since the ps1. The Xbox had so many good 1st party releases and Forza Line kills it in the racing Sims. Sony has yet to make a controller that doesnt feel cheap or just plain break. Though their Ps4 lineup of first part games was really strong their peripherals are trash. I heard the ps5 controller is quite up bit upscale from before though nothing beats the Xbox 360 and Xbox One/Xbox Series X controllers. They are an industry standard in greatness in controller design, function, and durability. I will own every console because if you dont you miss out on everyone good side even if theres bad too. The titles for PS3 I couldn't play on Xbox360 about 30-40 of them are amazing and I wouldn't have ever passed them up. Same with a huge amount for both 360 and Xbox One and PS4. I recommend getting them all or you are just plain missing so much greatness from everyone.

Then Xbox one exclusives were ported to PC so what the point of getting it if Microsoft is just telling you to go to PC. Batteries on an Xbox SX controller is still embarrassing. Even back in 2013 it was an insult to modern day gaming. So if you want to defend Xbox one what if I told you that Xbox 360 sold more than Xbox one and OG Xbox combined. It’s not abkut being a loyalist but, getting the better console. I had an Xbox 360 prior to my PS4. my dad surprised me with a PS5 last week, and i just started playing Bloodbourne. can’t wait to pick up FFVII, Demon Souls, Miles Morales, Gran Turismo 7, Deathloop, and Stray

Was FINALLY able to secure my PS5 on 10/13 so glad I finally got it. Keep it up Ryan been watching you 3 Years Now!
You forgot to talk about the lack of themes on the PS5.I have amassed a big amount of themes on PS4 so i really hope that they can find a way to bring our PS4 themes to PS5
The biggest difference for me so far is not having to deal with the sluggish menus and wait times of the PS4. Quality of life on this console is 10x better. I’ve had my PS4 since it came out and it was finally starting to show its age. While playing a game, going to any other menu, or checking friends lists or messages took ages. The PS store would take over a minute to load up for me, and if I browsed it long enough, when I finally tried to leave the PS Store, my ps4 would freeze and be super slow. Sometimes it would crash completely. Don’t even think about that anymore with my PS5, but i could never ever go back at this point.
Because 120fps is not very important. Most peoples TVs don’t support 120hz & 120hz monitors cost more than a ps5 itself. All that on top of the fact that the difference between 60 & 120fps is very small.
@@xDeadEye1 that’s always the exact same comment pasted “most peoples TVs don’t support 120hz”. It’s really small-minded and short-sighted to imagine things will be that way for long. And it’s only unimportant to people who don’t know any better such as your average console gamers. Yeah, imagine tech improving.

I finally managed to buy a PS5 last week, ironically it arrived the day after my birthday, and it is a serious upgrade from my launch PS4 which I bought 8 years ago. Now I just need to save up for a gaming TV with 120hz capability. I've already got a 5TB external HDD that I originally got to expand my PS4 library since I filled my first 2TB HDD expansion drive. I'll wait as long as it takes to buy another m.2 drive to expand my PS5s internal storage.

I agree with the 3D Audio. I imagine it's something that developers will need to learn how to better implement over time.
Or you need to mail them an earshot. ;)
I also noticed this being mentioned on a Sony headphone that had nothing to do with the PS5.
@@Stoppskylten that's just optimization and marketing stuff 3d audio works on any stereo headphones
The console is oversized and ugly, it has a laughably small amount of storage, it's only backwards compatible with PS4, it has a terrible user interface, PSN is a terrible online service that is down almost twice a week, Sony makes you pay for next-gen upgrades, the controller prone to breaking because it is cheaply made and full of gimmicks, there is no features to quickly resume your games and every first party games are overpriced and overrated short interactive movies with generic gameplay, too many cutscenes and no replay value. The PS5 is probably the worst console ever made, but you ponies are too blinded by delusion to realise that, so you give your money to a scumbag company that gives you garbage in return. Xbox & PC are the best places to play for next-gen gaming

July 2022, ordered my PS5 a few days ago, after mostly giving up. Should be here tomorrow. I can't wait.
I'm really enjoying the console, dualsense features are insane and the game card feature is fine but I have only found use of them in a couple of games
I finally got a ps5 yesterday looking forward to playing it on my days off work
I have had my PS5 since launch and for me it has been just a powerful PS4. Not many native PS5 games have interested me so it's literally been a backlog year for me
Yep same. COD was the only ps5 game I got. And it sucked.
I just got mine today and I have nothing to play thats new except Demon’s Souls. Everything else I beat on PS4
Same for me. Great console, just need some PS5 games out now I actually want to play. It's just been sitting there gathering dust lately. Hoping 2022 will change all that.
The Xbox has had haptic feedback in its triggers since the Xbox One.
I finally got one a couple weeks ago. I already game on a PC with a 3080, so I'm not blown away by the graphics, but I do find the controller basically revolutionary. I love it!
But the thing is, I pretty much find myself just playing my old PS4 games over again with a better framerate. It's kind of disappointing that there isn't more to play on my PS5 that I haven't already played on PS4, or that I can't play a better version of on my PC. I know this _will_ change over time. I just hope it happens soon.
I only use my pc with a 3080 for Warzone a few times a week, I’m debating switching over to console since I do not use my PC very much. Worth it?
@@21betox I was a pc gamer as well, switched to ps5 a couple weeks ago. I feel like I'm gameing again for the first time in a while. Pc I'd just buy games and they'd sit in my library untouched. It depends tho, if anything I'd just rip out the 3080 and sell it while its worth 2.5x price, snag a console on drop and u can always buy a new GPU later.
Same here I have a 3080 ti and bought a ps5 to play with friends.im not sure it's worth it with no games lol

This year there wasn't much for both consoles but the next 2 years are gonna be insane
I just got mine 3-1-22 and already have dbrand 2.0 dark plates arriving, fan LEDs, a 1tb SSD, black extra controller, and 5 games.
Ive been playing mostly PS4 games because im not paying 70 USD. Hopefully we will get some good deals during Black Friday.
You’re missing out, unless you’re getting PS4 games that are upgraded for ps5, free upgrades or otherwise.
No it should be like Microsoft you pay one edition you could play on both consoles You Shouldn't have to pay for upgrades It's freakin retarded

Totally agree with this review, the PS5 is a great gaming console and had one of the best launch lineup of a console in my opinion. Demon souls, Ratchet & Clank and Returnal are true examples of great next gen exclusives.
I don’t really think demon souls counts though.
@@One-12937 that’s your opinion and you are free to have it, but as someone that played Demon Soul’s and loved the game, That game is the one with the best texture quality and have one of the best lighting system in a game. Not even Elden Ring looks as good as Demon Soul’s

@@HuGiv5 that’s correct, Demon Soul’s is originally a PS3 game, but In my opinion Bluepoint Games made enough changes on the game that we can consider it now a PS5 games. They changed the entire animation system in the game, they implemented their own lighting, they reworked all the textures in the game, they added cloth and flesh physics. Demon Soul’s is not a simple remastered or a half bake remake, Demon Soul’s is one of the best remakes in the market and the best looking PS5 game.
what i like about both xbox and ps5 this generation is that we're finally getting to choose between performance or quality modes
I feel like these new consoles should be able to handle native 4K at 60fps, so there really shouldn’t need to be a performance & visual setting

I continued the campaign when I got my PS5, and instantly could hear where enemies were much more clearly than before. It’s saved me a few times in Returnal too, when I’ve heard movement behind me and been able to react before getting hit. The 3D audio is excellent.

@@thelegendaryduck2779 I got mine from a Wal-Mart online sales event. I followed a UA-cam channel that updates daily on PS5 restocks. ua-cam.com/users/Scrubing

I manage to snag one on e-bay via bidding and paid £530
I think scalpers may in the long run hurt the sales of games because they are have all these units that they are sitting all these units without games being bought to accompany them.
I am going to buy Ghost of Tsushima DC via PS5 upgrade path tonight. I am excited to play the best version of it on the PS5

I'm still trying to figure out why you need this over a ps4. Maybe in a couple years.
Better controller, longer life-span, much more modern U.I, way better graphics especially coming from the launch ps4, it's much quieter, way more games in the long-run. Getting a PS4 in the current year is not a good idea if you were even just considering the PS5.

@@mountaindew3201 Ps it took him awhile to be semi neutral. He wasn't always that way. He still digs on Xbox more than Sony. Its kinda obvious but I still enjoy what he has to say. I especially love him going back to trying to use ps3 online every year! Thats always fun. Wish he'd do more Xbox and Nintendo stuff though.
@@WthaHatchet the Xbox one is a failed console. It only sold 40 million units. Forza and halo arent cutting edge games anymore for the Xbox brand. The PS3 was a piece of crap that would constanly break down. The Xbox one had some issues but not very unit. The Xbox one controller was not any better than the 360 controller. Even with games pass in the future it won’t be worth value since I own many Xbox games and I’d prefer to buy them used and later sell it, trade, pawn, loan, or profit kit of them.

Yeah man I miss my tifa theme
Not sure how they'd do it though since games already take up the whole screen on the home menu
Nobody ever talks about 120fps. More and more games are having it.
